Best French I've ever had in any state and in any country. They look classic yet modern with a natural nail look and shaped exactly as I asked them to be. I was home for the holidays and went with my mom to her favorite nail salon and I got the best pedicure I have ever received. My mom has been coming here for 10 years and now I know why! Asked for Gel X removal and fresh French set (also Gel X); I was in a bit of a rush but they were super accommodating and were able to finish the job in 45 minutes. They turned out so perfectly, this is one of the best places I have been to for Gel X. My previous set lasted for 7 weeks without even lifting or cracking off. This current set is gorgeous and super neat, classic, and looks super symmetrical. Would 100% recommend Kendra's for manicures. Are all men's manicure's the same? I'm not sure, but I've been trying out new spots every couple weeks, and found myself near Kendra's, who happened to have time to fit me in right away. They didn't have any prices posted anywhere, but a basic manicure was $25 which is around what I've been paying throughout the Peninsula. The service was really good, the nail tech took her time, and I was happy with the end result. They did the buff/shine at the end, which isn't something some places automatically do, but I like when it comes out shiny. The chair was comfortable, and the hand/forearm massage was one of the better one's I got from a nail salon. Most places half-ass it, but here, she took her time and it was a nice way to finish the manicure. If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely wouldn't hesitate to return here for a mani/pedi next time. read more

This was the best Mani Pedi I have had In town for a long layover at San Francisco Airport so we drove down to Atherton for breakfast and on a whim called Kendra's Spa to see if they would accept two walk ins they immediately said yes and sent me a text to there location which was 2 blocks away. Spa smelled rancid of feet odor which was detective moment I stepped into the salon (first time customer). The insulting odor appears to be ingrained into the fixtures. I liked the person who did my pedi (Tom) but unfortunately can't commit to going back to this establishment again due to the lack of hygiene. Also the attendant did not open the sterilized tools in front of me so it was questionable if indeed such had been sterilized but I took the store owners' word that they were. I liked the the store owner. Very nice/friendly. Definitely would like to return but probably not gonna happen due to the off putting stinky odor permeating the entire salon. read more

I looked through several nail salons in downtown Menlo Park and every one posting their pricing offered $20 eyebrow and $10 lip waxing. The first one I stopped in at was too busy, so I walked down the street to Kendra's salon. Turned out to be $45 for the two at Kendra's (online they list all their other prices but say "Ask" for waxing). This by itself would not justify a bad review but it also was a poor job - I could feel the wax was far outside of the expected margin and basically no shaping was achieved, I got home and just tweezed my own eyebrows. Also dripped wax on my shirt :( read more

First time trying and horrible experience. Dishonest way to run business. First I asked the tech to get my credit card out when she started the base coat- I forgot to do it. Didn't tell me then they don't accept credit cards. I asked if they had an add on callus treatment- the pads that apply to heels that some other places use and she said yes. Both people acted ask if they didn't understand English well so I don't know if that is so or not- they did seem to run it by someone else. I got a regular pedi and then the technician gets out a sandpaper grinder and runs it over (no application of callus softening anything. Over did it and my feet were getting tender so let them know it was hurting. When I went to pay, I was told it was $10 extra when I didn't even get what I asked for. Lastly, mail edges left rough, polish had faint streaks- this is not where the polish was touched. It was smooth and even but they didn't do even coverage. See pics read more

A relaxing spa and family owned! I feel like this is the only place that takes COVID seriously and have set up barriers to make it more safe. I've been here multiple times and will keep going. Kendra and the staff makes sure to give me a long lasting sooo pretty set of nails. They can do many designs and colors, honestly I've been sticking with about one or two colors for most of my life but now I've had the confidence to branch out more. This place was ok. I came here for a pedicure with a gal friend, and while the experience was good in general, the price was kinda high for a fairly basic pedicure. This included leg scrub, using a motorized pumice on callouses, and the typical cleaning up of dead skin and etc. Pros: Free tea when you are in the chair Place seems very clean, well lit and ventilated. Massage chairs ahhhh Forgot flip flops? They wisely sell them for $1. Everything else: it was enjoyable in general... Cons: I noticed one nail got smudged a bit - super sad!! I waited after the nails were done for nearly 15 minutes and was wearing flip flops for another half hour- so I doubt this was from bumping into the nail. It's unfortunate since they did a decent job to start. $40 is kinda steep for something this basic. I would expect this to last a while. Stay tuned for whether it does. To note: apparently they heavily prefer cash for the tip. I foolishly only brought a card so I had to borrow from my friend. read more

This was my first visit to a nail salon after COVID-19 hit. My friend and I are pretty careful people, we've both been cautious, and we were a little nervous to go to a salon. We were immediately put at ease by the measures Kendra has implemented. She's done a perfect job! There are plexiglass dividers between every chair AND she won't sit anyone next to someone unless they're a household AND every single employee and customer is masked AND there is hand sanitizer on every chair. Plus, the place just looks and smells sanitized. So I felt very safe. My friend and I were masked and had the divider between us, but we still were able to talk. The pedicure itself was terrific, very through and decadent and my polish looks beautiful. Getting out and getting my nails done made me so happy. Self-care is important in these difficult times. Had a pretty bad experience. Wouldn't recommend having high of expectations for this salon, at this point. *the nail artist/technician wouldn't give me a price for my nails. She just kept saying it'll be double because of the photo i showed her. When asked how much exactly she told me she'd let me know after the length of my nail is decided and proceeded to electronically shave my perfectly healthy nails. Then she told me she usually charges 70$. So i clarified, $140? And she said somewhere between $110-120 depending. She proceeded to tell me that i need my hair done and eyebrows done. She asked why my hair looks the way it does and so on. I realize that she was trying to sell her services, but it was very insulting. *some of the nail artists/technicians don't speak to the clients whatsoever because they don't speak English so they'll come and start working on you without a word of notice. My fiancé has a startling time since he doesn't do this often when two people came and started hastily working on his feet and hands without a word. In total we paid $250 for: -three pedicures (2 gel and 1 no polish) & -one full set with gel. The owner tried very much to make up for the negative aspects of the experience, so i give her that in way of customer service. This is why we tipped $40. However, I think more training needs to occur because the issues appear systemic throughout the staff of the salon. I wouldn't spend my money here again. read more

I came here with my friend for her birthday as we had dinner reservations at Farmhouse Thai nearby. We made appointments and were seated pretty quickly even though they were very busy. My friend asked for a gel mani with reg pedi, my other friend had a regular pedi and i had a reg mani and pedi. Why I'm mentioning our services is important to my review. Ao they get us started and as I was there I realized they have such friendly previous customers. One customer brought cookies to share with everyone, another frequenter came with kids and the gals all seem to know them. It was an overall friendly place and the lady who I think is the owner offered us different beverages. There's a tiny menu of drinks which was nice. The pedis are not the cheapest service I've had but it come with a scrub and a decent massage and they oddly used paraffin dip/wax to massage your feet versus to stick your feet into which was really odd. I've always stuck my feet into the bags of paraffin wax. Now back to the services, we all started our feet about the same time but at one point my gal left to finish up nails for another client and I was left unfinished for a while. The owner came back and finished up my mani and at that point my friends were like oh shizz our dinner reservations was starting in a minute. Though it was close we didn't want to be late as they had strict reservation time. The lady working on my hands finished painting them when she realized we had to go. I realized they didn't offer enamel spray ao it could quick dry so we got into my friends car without me touching a single thing. While at dinner i realized they didn't give me a top coat for my nails because they just barely finished painting them. I was so bummed as I had to be extra careful and then add the top coat myself when I went home. Overall, it was a good experience and would probably come back if I was in the area. read more

Happy to FINALLY get a pedicure. My regular go-to place is still not open so I had to explore some new options. Kendra runs a very efficient and pristine place with more COVID barriers, hand sanitizer on each station, etc than is probably needed. So if you are worried - this is a safe place to come. My pedicure professional was very careful and took her time. The price on the website was $40 but it's actually $45. This salon offers lots of high quality polish to choose from. The massage portion was very brief and not very complete - done after your nails are polished which means that they can't massage your toes or upper foot area. I've never seen this done this way at other salons. I was a bit disappointed on that part since that's one my favorite parts of getting a pedicure. Easy parking. This place is a gem. I recently went to this place for a manicure with a friend. We called them last minute and they were able to accommodate us. I got the gel manicure with a line design on top. The people were very generous and took good care of our nails: cleaned them properly, trimmed the cuticles and had great color varieties. I showed them a picture of design I wanted on top and the owner was able to replicate it very beautifully. The owner was also really nice and we had a great time.
