Been here twice, service and food were excellent both times. Soft shell crab rolls were the bomb, and my partner also loved everything he ordered. I tried a bit of his udon noodle soup after he wouldnt stop raving about it, and he was right to do so! The atmosphere in here is also great - clean, relaxed, friendly, nice background music that's at a good volume level for the size of the space. Great food, great service, great experience! The food is delicious. The sushi looks great and has the taste to mirror. Their ramen's broth is very tasty and the noodles are super soft. The service also stood out. Unlike today's time where people implicitly demand tips, Sushi4Reel earns every penny. They greet you the moment you step in, they attend you almost immediately, they bring you your food very quick, and they check up on you to make sure you're good. Total hidden gem. Best sushi in town and we've been to them all several times. Sashimi and Nigiri are very generous in size and the fish is incredibly fresh. Can be a little slow at times with service but it has never been bad enough to complain. It's due to that their normally very busy. read more

Came in on a Saturday to try this place out...it wasn't very packed, which was nice, and the sushi was GREAT. The ONLY reason i'm leaving 4 stars, instead of 5, was because they were out of Sapporo, on a Saturday! Then after ordering a small Orion, and trying to get another, they were out. Not sure what's going on for them to be so poorly stocked on a Saturday...but overall, wonderful experience. read more

Delicious! The food was incredible. Fresh fish delivered daily. The service is terrific. We tried the Superhomeless role, which was definitely enough for a meal. BUT the packaging was horrible; if one orders multiple selections, why place them in one container? Ate here for the first time and really enjoyed it. It is a small restaurant but my boyfriend and I were greeted and seated right away. I really enjoyed the decor from the painting on the wall to the color of the floor and tables was interesting. We had our drinks served and food ordered promptly. Our sushi was served by the Chef who I also think is the owner. The sushi was great. We highly recommend the Fiesta Roll. After paying the bill the chef/owner stopped by our table again to make sure we were happy with everything before we left. I thought that was great! read more

So to begin the experience was ok, the food was not OK. I don't understand how the place has a 4.5 star rating. I will begin with I only ordered two items ramen and their fiesta roll. Let me deconstruct both to let you know I am not trolling. first of all the ramen tasted like spaghetti noodle. They contained no flavor nor did they feel like ramen noodles should feel like. I feel like instant ramen would beat them in a taste test. Now the sushi chef was experienced he knew what he was doing. Except that the roll I ordered was a roll with the "Crunch". The fresh fish was ok i'll give it a 4/5, but the crunch was so stale that i was really mad about it. This is a 4 Star sushi place why does you roll have stale items in it. All in all this is marketing and the fact they have a 4.5 is misleading I would not have chosen this place on a whim if it was this bad. read more

I came in to get togo sushi, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a dream roll, a cali roll(for the kids), and a border patrol roll to go, and a small sake and amd nigiri albacore while i waited. I will start by saying im very picky with sushi. and this place is very generous with fish portion, the quality and flavor is very good. The menu is super creative, but there are all the traditonal favorites too. The stand out to me, was most specialty rolls have snow crab, not imitation crab inside, huge flavor difference! The pricing is pretty good for the creative menu and quality. its not cheap, but when is really cheap sushi good?? (I spent $40 + tip) I would liken this to harney, my favorite place, i can go there when im at work on the coast, and come here when im close to home. Im super excited about this place and cant wait to try more, the "you mad bro" roll looks outstanding! read more

I've lived in Oceanside for almost 4 years and hit just about every sushi joint this town has to offer. This is the absolute best sushi restaurant I've ever been too. My girlfriend and I went in for lunch and got way more than what we expected. Walking in the restaurant was way smaller then I thought it would be, tiny actually. What they lack for in size they make up for with quality food and service along with unbelievable ambiance and wait time. I asked the gentleman helping us what he recommended on the menu and he told me "the homeless roll". Trusting him that is what I ordered and oh my goodness that was such an amazing roll I couldn't believe it! My girl friend got teriyaki chicken with shrimp crunch roll also very good. For dessert we had fried strawberry ice cream. UNBELIEVABLE! It was so delicious that we asked for another order of it. The only cons to this place was the price, just a little more pricy then I'd like but I'd say it was definitely no question worth every penny. You will not regret going here to eat. read more
