10 stars!! Absolutely good food. Every dish outdid the one before it. The Lion King roll was by far the surprise as best roll for us. The crunchy potato on top with a hint of spicy mayo gives this one a "roar" of approval. The yakisoba has a good mix of veggies and beef, and plenty of savory sweet sauce to cover the noodles that you will want to lick the dish. Tempura is crunchy and fresh. So glad we found this place a short walk from our stay. read more

Countless years of being a customer at Sushi 5, and after the way I was treated today, I will never return. There was an error in my order, I was told they do not make mistakes and that was it. Nothing was done to fix the error, in fact I was just ignored by all of the staff. I ordered vegetable maki combos and received raw fish maki combos. No thank you Sushi 5, your restaurant is not a place that I recommend to anyone anymore and we will not be returning. read more

Well... it's alright. The main thing I would say about this place is that it's over priced for what it is. The food is nothing amazing and seemed mediocre to me. The rolls didn't seemed like they were rolled properly as they would fall apart when picked up. (Picture of one of the rolls we ordered below). My mom came here once with someone she knew and she thought it was decent. So I decided to come here with her. While their prices definitely can be improved upon, but I felt their sushi was decent. I've had a sushi combo, negitoro maki, and the sashimi that my mom wanted to try (can't remember the name). The result ended up tasting good. It was quick too (probably because there was only a few people there at the time). The only thing about this place that I would change is the prices because if you're one of those that wants a good deal for your sushi, this place isn't special, but it sure is tasty. Lastly, the waitresses are pretty friendly, so that's a plus. read more

It's better for takeout since I dont love that its in the middle of a mall facing a drugstore, but definitely for the price the food is 5/5. The rolls are MASSIVE which I usually find annoying but hey they're delicious. Victoria roll for my vegetarians out there, and the agedashi tofu is great. Much MUCH better service than Lynn Valley Sushi around the corner, and our food was really quite good. I had miso soup, Las Vegas rolls, and teriyaki beef. Was all really good. My rolls were perfect. My partner had a BC combo and he really enjoyed his as well. Again, our service was very good, our tea and waters were kept topped up and we didn't have to hunt down a server to pay our bill. Absolute garbage. After waiting a long time for the food, the very rude unprofessional lady waiter forgot our order and food was horrible for what she actually brought. It is amazing how many good ratings there are, they must have a lot of friends or they are braindwashed. Came here based on all the positive reviews, but was greatly disappointed immediately upon arrival. Don't get me wrong, service was quick, friendly and welcoming, but the food is overpriced and under portioned. For the price, rolls were tiny, barely stuck together, and the rice was dry and spars. Barely any salmon in the salmon mango roll. Maybe this is a decent place to eat for locals in North Vancouver, but if you have any standards for sushi whatsoever, I'd recommend skipping this place. read more

I ordered a veggie tempura roll here today, and found not one but TWO shrimp in the roll. I quietly showed my waitress the shrimp, and explained that I was vegetarian and I was frustrated to find seafood in a vegetarian dish. The waitress showed the chef, who didn't seem to care. Instead of covering the $10 cost of my meal, or even the $5 cost of the roll, I was given a bill for the veggie roll that contained the shrimp (with a discount of 70 cents). Never mind that they had served me a 'vegetarian' dish with seafood in it. Most businesses, food service or otherwise, would prefer to build and maintain a long-time customer by making a gesture in good faith to correct a wrongdoing. Not this place. Skip it and go to any other Lynn Valley sushi restaurant -- I recommend Valley Sushi, by the public library. read more

I try to get in here once a week for takeout. The only problem is Lynn Valley Mall is a mess. Actually all of Lynn Valley is now a mess lol. Try the tuna mango avacado salad. Went for lunch today. Had lunch combo B myself and it has a decent combination and choice of California Roll or Spicy Tuna Roll. Tempura (separate order) was light and not greasy. Would prefer one scoop of rice with the combo (for 5 stars) otherwise it is a good place for sushi. read more

Came here with a girlfriend of mine via car. We normally have our monthly sushi meet ups and this place was suggested since it was near another place that we wanted to check out. The reason I went in this restaurant was my son, who is a sushi monster, started nagging for food yesterday as I had a few chores in that part of town. At first glance, the place seemed very simple and not too inviting (borderline cafeteria atmosphere)... but it was clean, ie. No sticky tables or menu. The host was welcoming and brought us tea and water. I ordered safe things (ie. No raw fish) and to my surprise it was one of the best tempura, tofu and sushi I've ever had. Friendly staff, very clean. the food is not just beautifully presented it's also the most delicious sushi I've ever had. Reasonably priced and good portions, wide variety of menu, something for everyone. Quick service, quality ingredients and skilled chefs. This is a must try for anyone in the area. Period. The other nearby sushi places are so disappointing in comparison. My favorite is the crispy white mountain roll- a California roll with yam tempura crispy potato flakes and spicy mayo on top. The spicy tuna is also excellent. New York roll is another favorite- dynamite roll with spicy tuna on top. This is a new restraunt, but seriously, try it. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place is a gem, hidden inside a semi-sad suburban mall. Make no mistake, though - this is no mall sushi. It is legit, fresh, delicious sushi and Japanese food, served in an impeccably clean space, by lovely people. We've now been a few times, and tried a good variety of rolls and appetizers, and never been disappointed. It's priced in the mid-range for sushi joints, and I think it is very good value for the quality of food they offer. Four of us ate, until we were stuffed, for $100 (including tax, before tip). Of the three sushi restaurants in the immediate vicinity, this one is our top pick by a huge margin. My only wish is that they were open a bit later in the evening, but given that the mall is basically a dead zone after 6pm, I can see why they aren't. read more

This is a tiny place located in undescript shopping mall in N. Vancouver. The selection is nice and sushi is very fresh. I had miso soup, a tempura appetizer (shrimp and veggies) and a sushi / sashimi platter. Service was very nice, efficient and quick. There is no ambiance, though, hence my grading. read more
