    Various sushi rolls

He wanted Sushi for his bday but didn't want to go out. I went on Door Dash and found this spot in my neighborhood! The sushi was good and affordable! There was a bogo deal so we went crazy! We both had enough leftovers for work the next day! I will order again!

    Creamy Salmon Roll (Philly Roll)

Deliciousness!! Basically ordered a regular Philly Roll and then tried their Deep Fried Philly Roll which also came with some crunchies on top!! Note that there are additional sauces it typically comes with but I opted not to get those. I did get spicy mayo on the side which was okay. However, the rolls themselves were absolutely amazing and can't wait to order from here again!!! Great prices too

    Terrible Salmon Lover Special
    Joselyn R.

There is no way all these raving reviews from people who have only ever left one or two reviews are real. The "salmon" in the Salmon Lover Special looked like pink Barbie house plastic, and the cuts weren't correct. Look at the 2 pieces of "nigiri"... This was so disappointing and we ended up having to order from a different place to get our sushi fix.

I ordered from here via Postmates and honestly was very pleasantly surprised. The order got here very quickly and the Poké bowl was absolutely packed with food especially at that price point! Will definitely be ordering here again whenever I have that sushi craving.

This supposed to be the vegetable roll but doesn't have any carrots or avocado im disappointed and will never order from here again

I need my money back really disappointed no carrots or avocado smh I'm kind of mad did AI make this shit

Disappointment washed over me as I eagerly approached the much-anticipated sushi bites in town, only to discover it was nothing more than a ghost kitchen. The initial excitement of exploring a new culinary gem quickly faded as I realized there would be no cozy ambiance, no intimate tables, and certainly no authentic sushi bar experience. The absence of a physical restaurant space meant missing out on the traditional charm of a sit-down establishment. Instead of the warm greetings and the inviting aroma of freshly prepared sushi, I was greeted by a nondescript storefront with no seating in sight. It was a stark contrast to my expectations of indulging in the art of sushi while enjoying the ambiance of a traditional Japanese eatery. The disappointment deepened as I grasped the reality of the ghost kitchen concept - a place solely designed for online orders and takeout. The lack of a communal atmosphere and the absence of skilled chefs crafting sushi before my eyes left me yearning for the dynamic and engaging experience that a traditional sushi bar offers. While the convenience of ordering from a ghost kitchen has its merits, the absence of a physical space to savor the culinary delights robbed me of the immersive dining experience I had anticipated. The sushi may have been top-notch, but the absence of a proper setting left a lingering sense of disappointment, reminding me that not all culinary adventures live up to the expectations set by the promise of a new restaurant in town. Very disappointed.

The Assorted Sashimi was fun for the two of us to each try 6 premium pieces. Everything tasted fresh and high quality with a different garnish accompanying each piece! The cucumber salad was refreshing and crunchy to munch on in between sushi bites. Their Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice surprised me with an arrangement of flavors and textures that went together magically. I would have gotten a second order if stomach space wasn't a concern. Next we had the Yellowtail Sashimi, which of course had sliced jalapeño on top. I don't care how many restaurants put that out, it's always fantastic. The only roll we got was the Cherry Blossom roll, I was intrigued by the menus indication that it didn't have rice. A large roll with 11 pieces came out that was 95% fish, the remaining 5% being bits of avocado and two sauces that paired exquisitely. It tasted excellent. Our server recommended their Kid Season sake which was exactly what I was looking for: filtered and semi sweet. Highly recommend!

I've…read moreheard my friends rave about Sushi Gen for years, and I'm surprised that I haven't given them a try until now. The plaza itself is unassuming, and at 7pm on a Thursday, most other businesses in the plaza had closed. The lot was full, so we paid $12 for valet parking across the street.  We waited for about 10 minutes for our seats at the bar, and honestly, the bar was so much fun! We sat right in front of our sushi chef and orated our orders directly to him, piece by piece. He was such a jovial soul and made our experience so warm and enjoyable. I was very impressed not only with his ability to make sushi but the attention and care he paid to his customers. For example, he noticed that I especially enjoyed the fattier cuts of fish such as ootoro and salmon toro, so when I ordered yellowtail, he recommended that I try the kanpachi toro instead. It was a great recommendation, and in that moment, I felt so seen. The chefs here are truly masters of their craft, both in sushi making and hospitality. In total, I had the toro, salmon, unagi, scallops, kanpachi, salmon toro, and kanpachi toro. Every piece of nigiri I had was very fresh and delicious. My favorite pieces of sushi had to be the toro. You actually get two different cuts of toro with one order, chuutoro and ootoro which are medium fatty and full fatty respectively. Each piece was so delicious and indulgent, I don't know if I can choose a favorite.  I had a wonderful experience at Sushi Gen, and I think that sitting at the bar was way more fun than what sitting at a table would've been. I loved getting to interact with our sushi chef and felt very well taken care of. The sushi was amazing. I'm already plotting an excuse for my next visit.

It was definitely not what I've expected or ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant. We were quickly greeted by the staff and be seated by the wall. The upholstery of our seats were torn. The area where we were sitting was a bit too dark and could definitely add more lights for customers to see their menus. After giving a look at the menu, our server asked if we were ready. I said it's our first time so we need some time to look through the menu. She replied ok and left. We mainly ordered sushi items. Servers brought over each item one at a time. When I almost finished mine, my family is still waiting for theirs. You do see the staff walk by the tables constantly. However, I would hope the servers would ask how is everything and if we need anything else. Overall, sushi tastes fine. I probably won't be back given the experience that we had.
