I've frequented this place for 10+ years and always order the nigiri platter (10 pieces). The tempura is some of the best in the city--you can tell they always use fresh oil. It's very inexpensive for sushi while still offering good-tasting fish, which is what keeps me coming back. I've never had an issue with service; they're consistently fast and efficient. My parents usually get the teriyaki plates, so it's a spot we can all agree on, especially since it's less than five minutes away. They also have their own parking lot and a small seating area if you prefer dining in. I'm glad this spot has survived COVID and the current economy. read more

This place is delicious, a lot of food for a great price. I always get a combination plate, very filling and tasty. It's a small location with indoor and outdoor seating but never busy where there's nothing available to seat at. Sharing a parking lot in a plaza with other busy spots will make parking hard. I have not seen a bathroom which may be an issue for some. read more

My family always goes here when we're down in SoCal! It's quaint--shares a small parking lot with other businesses and only has a few tables inside with some stools. There's also a couple tables outside. You order at the counter and they'll call out your order when it's ready. There's a fridge with a variety of drinks. I always order chicken teriyaki and California rolls during lunch. The sauce is delicious and the chicken is tender and perfectly grilled. I hadn't been here in a while, but I came in on a Tuesday evening and ordered a chicken bowl that came with veggies. I waited for them to prepare it, and that was roughly about 8-10 minutes. The restaurant is quaint and clean with a TV playing the news as you wait for your order. The food tastes really good, but the color of the chicken looked like it could've been cooked a little longer. I only immediately ate the smaller pieces that looked charred, but I waited to get home and cook the other chicken a little longer. I would return, because I like I said earlier, the food was good, but I would request that the chef cook the chicken a little longer. read more

We needed a place clean, close to the LAX, and quick. So, we ended up with Miyako Express. The vibe gave me a Mexican taco shop. I wasn't expecting a sushi place to be located like this. It turned out to be a nice, cute sushi restaurant. We ordered some sushi from the pictured menu on the wall. It seemed like they didn't have a lot of variety of fish or seafood, but not a problem. At the end, this is a small cute restaurant. We got a Red Dragon and a Green Dragon. Our orders came out quickly. They were both good, but not the best, or made me to go back. The rice was thick, the roll got broken while holding it with chopsticks. The tuna didn't taste so fresh. We were there around 6:30 pm. Maybe the tuna waited outside for dinner time. So last night maybe around 7ish, me and my best friend decided to grab some sushi( we come here at least once a month). This is the second time we've received dismissive service, by ironically the same person(Asian lady short hair cut extremely rude and we now discovered racist.) So Let's get to last night we walk in it two other customers sitting I assume waiting on their orders. We order pay and as we're moving towards the door to let the customer that just walked in order( these customers were not black, we are). The restaurant is small we decide to go back to the car(Hispanic lady said it wouldn't be long). We make our way back inside the restaurant, absolutely believing our food would be ready(NOPE). No Acknowledgement when we came back in. They were ironically serving the group(that came after us, order and paid after us with more items). We look at eachother(Bff) in disbelief like this can't be happening. I Guess The Lady realized what we had witnessed and starting playing with the bag and trying to explained rolls take time. Very much belittling considering the group had multiple rolls, plus entrees. I stated we definitely ordered first and paid before they stepped inside the building, they basically rolled their eyes and looked at the workers as if we were the issue because she decided that we should be treated like second class citizens. In this client this type of behavior shows a bigger problem, and that this isn't the first time this has happened. I called this place an hour and a half before closing -- twice -- and nobody picked up the phone. I still decided to drive over, got there 20 minutes before closing, and was told they were already closed. When I asked about the hours posted online, the Mexican lady at the front cut me off mid-sentence and said it was a "slow night" and they were "trying to close out." If that's the case, then lock your doors and turn off your lights instead of pretending to still be open. The attitude was nasty, and it was clear they just didn't want to serve anyone else. Kids were out for the night so husband and I thought to try this place out. We were very disappointed! First of all we ordered from the menu that we saw online to find out that when my husband picked up the food the prices were all completely different and was way more than what we thought we were gonna pay! The tempura was gummy. The chicken salad was chopped up lettuce with chicken on top and dressing on the side. Edamame's weren't bad. Drove a bit to get here as we continue to look for replacement for our favorite sushi place (formerly Sushi N Go of Torrance). Ordered at the window and sat at out of the outdoor benches for dinner with the family. The rolls are small. Think small like supermarket size rolls that fit in flat plastic containers. Not plump like the rolls that you'd get at a more traditional sit down restaurant. Many of these rolls would make a styrofoam container look like a mansion. Not a lot of fish included. Ordered: - inside out rainbow roll - had the most fish of what we ordered - Washington roll. Kids liked this best - hot date night roll. Only roll we ordered that was supposed to be spicy - Saturday special of teriyaki chicken (DRY), beef (DRY), rice and California roll - Shrimp tempura with Ramen and Spicy tuna roll 5 entrees yielded a bill above $60. Flavor wise, I also don't have much to write home about. Without soy sauce, there wasn't innate flavor. The udon soup of the ramen noodles really did not deliver any notes of interest; it was difficult to eat as the ramen, by nature, has zero flavor. The spicy tuna (roll and atop the Hot Date Night roll), which should have some bite, was yet unremarkable. We ordered around 530PM where there wasn't a lot of others waiting. It look a looong time before our items were ready. Hubby wondered if someone else picked up our order mistakenly. He joked how this was an "express" restaurant (its in the name). It was just super slow. The trash can was overflowing (the wind was taking napkins off the top) and I could not help but think guiltily of all the plastic waste from this little hole-in-the-wall kiosk. We ordered 5 items and it came in 7 plastic and styrofoam containers. It was also a lot of loose plastic lids that we contended with in the wind. This could have been easily consolidated - we are used to multiple rolls coming from other restaurants in one single larger container. No warmth in the service. I was the only one saying Thank You. No one wiped the tables. No one emptied the trash. We will continue our search for our favorite sushi place elsewhere. read more

Miyako is a cozy little hole in the wall place. Their customer service, food, and portions are always great both during, and before COVID. They have specials for everyday of the week, which is great because each one is priced well. I love getting the Friday special, which is a short rib plate that comes with rice and a salad. They also have sushi which is pretty decent. I love getting the crunch roll, and the California roll as well. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. This is a small Japanese sushi place, it's in a strip mall with about six other business there as well, with a small parking lot. I actually was recommend to try this place out from my son. You can order on the outside or from the inside, there is one school bench on the outside , there is one TV don't know about the restroom, they also daily special Monday- Saturday close on Sunday. The food was tasty and fresh ( the shrimp ) should have more, the one dish that really stood out for me and was absolutely delicious was the Mayako Udon this was so flavorful...the broth i could drink like a cup of tea. I also noticed that all of the cook/chef were not Japanese but Hispanic which i may say did and is doing a pretty good job, I will return to try other Items. read more

I enjoy the food from Miyako Express. Their meals taste quite decent (aside from the fact that the owner/staff are nowhere close to being Japanese ). Their specials on the day are available every day (except on Sundays when they are closed) and are solid deals with good price and taste. It takes a while to get your meal as i believe they make them as the orders come in. They also have a free small parking spot inside a strip mall area as well. You can order from a take out window on the side of the restaurant or just eat in. P.S. I didn't see they have any restrooms for customers. P.S.S. If you are walking to eat here though, be aware of your surroundings and shady characters around the area. It's not the safest area to walk around esp at night (unfortunately, as a small framed, short Asian female, I almost got assaulted by a homeless guy, who was presumably high from drugs, walking alone very close by the area before...so I'd never consider walking there after the sunsets again). read more
