The sushi was A-OK. The service was rather awkward. My husband and I went to check out the happy hour specials that we saw advertised on their website. The server had very broken English and I found it difficult to communicate with her. She gave us the all you can eat menu and when we said we didn't want to do all you can eat she then gave us a regular menu. I asked about the happy hour specials on the website and she said they only offer it upon request. We placed our drink order and she insisted that before she could put the drink order in we needed to write it down on the happy hour paper menu. The sushi itself was decent. Better than publix sushi I would say. I found the temperature of the cold items that I ordered to be more on the warm side which was a little odd to me with the sashimi items. I didn't care for the dark atmosphere and the service. The all you can eat price seemed very reasonable but make sure to finish everything you order or there is a fee for leaving it on the plate. I love this place. I go for the all you can eat sushi. I love that they dont make them to big. And i like that they give half a roll at a time. So i can order 4 different types at once but not get 4 full rolls. I would not be able to finish 4 full rolls. But getting a half a roll i can try at least 6 maybe 7 types of sushi. After comparing it with besuto across the street, which I think has some darn good sushi, I've decided that I was wrong and Sushi Cafe is a solid 4 star sushi spot. Things are hit or miss here. I tried the hibachi steak and I would never order it again. The steak was way over seasoned with like Montreal steak seasoning. The vegetable cuts were all over the place with some hilariously large pieces. And the worst part is the white sauce just tasted like sugar and mayo. It is all you can eat but you have to know what you like because if you order it and don't eat it they will charge you extra for the non eaten sushi. I want to start by saying I have never written a yelp review, but my experience today was so awful I feel people need to know that it is NOT SAFE TO EAT SUSHI HERE! I ordered a "Sunset Roll" and the salmon was not salmon but fat! It was white, not orange. When I made a comment to the sushi chef he told me I was crazy and that t was smoked salmon and I don't know what I am talking about. I have no problem paying for my food but I refused to pay for something which was not even fish. After I complained I was given a check which charged me .75 cents for each uneaten, or should I say inedible piece of sushi. I am culinarily inclined and have cut a fresh fish straight from the ocean, so I didn't appreciate being called crazy for calling out the fact that they are serving fish fat in place of the actual meat. They have best sushi lunch deal in town, they server fresh fish every day and best sushi price in town, during 2:30pm to 6:30pm they have happy hours for sushi rolls and sushi(nigiri ),and some kitchen appetizers and alcohol. After happy hours they have special sushi dinner, make sure stop by the place ask for more details. Horrible sushi, it was all frozen, and tasted like the refrigerator. They have an all you can eat sushi for $12.99 and then they charge you $0.75 for any sushi you don't finish-and they call that an "UNFINISHED" charge-the waitress didn't even tell us about that. If you are good at calculating how much you are going to eat, right down to the piece, and you don't mind 3rd rate day old seafood, than this place is for you. First time coming here and I was blown away! I've been looking for a good place that serves Japanese food and I think I've found my favorite one. I was greeted by Sammy and she was kind enough to show us how everything works. She was very patient and detailed in explaining the menu to us. Always came around to refill waters and made sure everything was okay. 10/10 service from Sammy. They have an All You Can Eat option or you can select from the regular menu. We went ahead with the regular menu but I definitely will be returning for the All You Can Eat now that I've tried this place! I went with the Crab Rangoon, Philadelphia Roll, and Hibachi Chicken. 10/10 probably the best I've had. The crab Rangoon filling was creamy and had me wanting more. The Philadelphia roll was fresh and the rice was perfect! And the Hibachi chicken exceeded my expectations, the chicken was juicy and the sauce was excellent! The quality of the fish is only fine, the selection is mediocre, and the ratio of fish to rice is outrageous! They just want you to get full on rice! Sashimi is not offered, and the nigiri has such a thin slice of fish slapped atop a large chunk of rice that by the time the sushi gets to your table and then to your mouth, the rice has heated up the fish, making you question if what you're eating is fresh. And the poor waitress! The restaurant was completely understaffed at lunchtime with one waitress serving the entire place.
