I've been to this place sooooo many times before and always had a great experience. Very fresh, made to order sushi and very reasonable. The restaurant is kept clean and the service, although only one or 2 waitstaff was really good. Due to the pandemic, and after craving sushi for so long, I decided to order for pickup so I ordered my usual which includes Dinamite, Volcano, eel and California rolls. I couldn't wait to tear into it. That night it was raining hard and I waited to get home to open the bag. I got my order but everything was drenched in grease and it all looked and tasted old. The sushi was jammed into the plastic containers and it looked like they had put other stuff on top so it was all squished together. What a huge dissapointment that was. Not a fan. Ingredients were fresh but not properly put together and then drenched in a ton of sauce. The rice on the sushi is not traditional sticky rice so it kept falling apart and they were made unevenly. Some pieces had a gigantic blob of rice while others lacked. The seafood soup tasted like hot water without any season. The crab ragoon were delish! The service, although nice, lacked a lot. You can tell the only 2 servers were overwhelmed. This place is awesome. Great service!!! The servers are very attentive and very pleasant. The food is of good quality. I'm usually picky about the rice and their rice is cooked perfectly. Very underwhelming. I was a bit skeptical about all you can eat sushi in the first place. Upon entry I had no idea what I was supposed to do. There was one other customer besides myself that was already seated. Although there were three people standing behind the counter, no one said hello or welcome to said establishment. After I'm finally told to seat myself. I waited 5 minutes to be brought a menu. Finally after ordering the food is now coming out as if this is a tapas restaurant. Mind you I'm writing this review before I have even finished my food. I started with the miso which basically tastes like water. Don't eat here. There was a hair on one of my friends lemonade. Didn't look like a normal hair, looked like a pube. They charge you extra for the stuff you don't eat, which I can somewhat understand, but that should be disclosed by the waitress. Most oddball menu ever: walk in to seat yourself, common paper menus that you check off what you want like a survey, server just picks them up with no need to place your name on it, and it arrives later to your table some how; More over, the sushi is very basic, one star sushi quality. First Time I ever heard of "teriyaki chicken sushi" it is literally some cooked chicken pieces in teriyaki sauce, sticky rice and seaweed wrapped around it. About the size of a half dollar. Only been here once last year, and got minor food poisoning. That lasted a month as it meshed with my stomach, making it feel cold and unwell. Was finally able to recover after doctors visit, acid reducer and over the counter probiotics. I understand why people go here for the price and quantity you can get while on a budget, yet its not really worth it. If you never had great sushi, I recommend not going here to try some. This is truly the worst place I've been for sushi. With a city full of sushi places do yourself the favor and drive as fast as you can away from here. The service from our waitress was okay but that's it. The sushi tasted weird as the texture was off. None of the sauces tasted like they should. Ok so now to the worst part. Service was pretty horrible honestly. We came in and waited a good 15 mins with no one coming up to us. We had to go to the front just to get menus for our selves. Then the sushi came out with no Wasabi. Couldn't get a server back over, so once again we had to go to the front just for Wasabi. When we were ready for round two and all our plates were cleared. It took them another 20 minutes just to get a server again. Except this time when the server came he picked up everyone's chop sticks from their plates and realized it was wrong and set them down in a random order. We had to request new ones. I've been here twice already, and plan on going over and over and over again. Although Sushi Cafe is a sushi "buffet", there are no buffet lines. There is no sushi that has been sitting out for hours. Instead, you'll be given a checklist typical of sushi restaurants when you're seated and you can order in whatever quantities you want. This includes appetizers, select rolls, and a variety of nigiri (my favorite). On my first visit I ordered vegetable tempura and 10 pieces of nigiri and received my meal directly at my table from the sushi chef. It was fresh to order and delicious, I was so delighted! The only catch is that you are charged extra for leaving food on your plate (rice, fish, appetizers) or bringing it home with you. So as long as you know your limits and/or order incrementally, you will have no problem walking out of there with over $50 worth of (good) sushi in your stomach for only $13. The staff are all friendly, had no issues whatsoever. Atmosphere was good, it had a good sushi restaurant vibe ;) It is simply the best deal in the Orlando area! At the time of writing it is $12.99 _all day_ for the buffet and the restaurant is open late. Students are eligible for a 10% discount (except for the buffet). First off the sushi is horrible. The all you can eat menu is not worth it. Practically the kind of sushi you'd expect for $14. Not only that, the service is HORRIBLE. Me and my brother came in on Halloween night for sushi. The place was practically empty. Maybe 3 other groups. 2 servers? The curly haired girl, face painted like a mouse was the only other server while the other one was sitting down watching tv. We waited for our hot sake to be ordered to the table only to have it poured on my arm. After we asked to see the manager the server Blatantly lied and said that she was the manager. The ginger tastes like mold and has for months. It didn't the first couple times i came last year but now it does every time. Not even edible. When i told them is was moldy tasting they said ginger is sour because it's pickled. Then i asked what they keep it in and the girl said a big vat - gross.
