No rice roll. I think it's called Ninja. Then the salmon gone wild roll with no sauce. I would definitely get both again!

Quick spot for lunch or happy hour Nice breeze on outdoor patio. Staff are quick on their feet. Meal specials and options to order half rolls which is great to try more new things without over ordering. The green salad is a meal in itself. Fresh crispy mixed greens in a delicious house dressing with a perfectly ripe avocado and cucumber. Generous amount of seaweed in the miso soup. You have to walk around the building to park but they have a ramp out front.

12/26/2025 Update It's a great place to eat. It's very popular. The tables are not big so if you're a big group make a reservation. The service here is great from the cooks, sushi chefs, waitresses. They work extremely hard. The sushi is delicious and well made. The other food, 'tiger eye and yellowtail collar' are amazing. The tempura is always hit and crunchy. Still one of our favorites.

Lunch special: you get one extra piece of sushi with each order...

Super small and cozy restaurant.. You can definitely hear everything all at once.... We ordered a bunch of rolls..sushi and sashimi. It seemed to be taking a while..then we discovered they were bringing it all at once. The sushi was super fresh and the cuts of fish were generous. They also didn't pack on tons of rice which I really enjoyed!

Take some getting use to unique hours. Great customer service. Self seating unless the inside is packed. Rolls were pretty good. I wish the crawfish was slight larger. I've been to many crawfish festivals in AL, NO and MS and the meat from the tail os larger. Interior is dated, but at this day in age you make it work. Multiple tvs playing sports and news. Server checked on me every time she walked by I love how how the chefs say, SEE YOU TOMORROW!!! with the biggest smile!

My to go order.

Went to SGW to try their Happy Hour Specials Menu. Great deal. During Happy Hour, you can get certain Nigiri with 3 pieces for their normal price for 2 pieces. The fish was a good size and quite good. The tempura's was nicely fried. Service was very friendly.

Service is good here, parking was weird for me. Not sure where to park and ended up behind the restaurant. But the walk was good since I overstuffed myself. The ponzu sauce here didn't feel very lemony. And the fish tasted a bit bland...weird, maybe the rice needed to be more seasoned more? I guess it's good that the fish didn't taste or smell fishy. Though, one of my rolls did taste a bit fishy. And the rice was much too hard. It made the rolls less enjoyable. I would come back but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for this place. I have mixed feelings about this place. Good but not good. Maybe I need to give them another try. ps...their warm rolls are MUCH better than their cold rolls. The rolls with crab meat tasted better, probably because of the mayo as extra lubricant for the dry rice.

Great neighborhood casual sushi spot! I usually go to Hoka Hoka, Sushi Time, or Coco Sushi, but this was great for a nice change of pace. I appreciated the complimentary steamed edamame upon sitting down and the friendliness of the staff. They also have lots of small rolls that are more interesting than most sushi menus. It gets super busy on Friday nights and weekends so prepare for a long wait including an hour for to-go/online orders! I was able to walk in and be sat quickly however on a recent Monday night.

Really delicious and fresh sushi! I came with a group of friends last week for a weeknight dinner. It was my first time eating here even though I have passed by and seen this place for years. The outdoor seating was nice, although the night was a bit chilly it was warm and cozy at our table with the space heater. I really like their variety between traditional and specialty rolls and the prices were decent. We came during happy hour so that helped too. I'm excited to come back and try more of their sushi!

He wanted sushi, I wanted to *not* do dishes. Cheers, Yelp friends!

Nifty, cozy sushi joint with swift and friendly service. "See you tomorrow" is the phrase here because locals call this spot awesome and frequent here more than they visit their own fridge. Our first time, and it was memorable. The Mr. ran into an old friend, and we struck up conversations with everyone around us. It's easy to do when the sushi is yummy and the sake is flowing. I kept it legal because I was driving, but that didn't stop me from chowing down on a Dynamite and Super Crunchy Roll. The Mr. ended up loving my super crunchy roll, so I kinda had to fight him for the last couple of pieces. I always order the uncomplicated tasty stuff. Mr. Kim was a superb host - I can't wait to visit again. Parking is plentiful around the back. Note that there is no back entrance, so plan for a short walk around to the front of the tiny restaurant. Sports playing on the TV screens. Locals singing Mr. Kim's praises and the sushi is delicious. This place is a bit out of our 10-minute periphery, but it's absolutely worth the trip. Still can't get real crab in a California roll (they only have blue soft shell crab), but we didn't miss it (plus I'm trying to ween the Mr off California rolls, I mean, come on! Ha ha.) I'm looking forward to our next sushi outing. Kanpai! See you tomorrow, good people.

12. Aloha Hawaii Roll 8. Double Shrimp Roll
Peyton M.

Both rolls were good. Good taste and fresh. But I have an issue with the aloha roll. I don't know if they're trying to be slick or just cheap, either way it's no good and a bad look...the aloha roll is supposedly supposed to be topped with tuna, mango and avocado. If you're going to do this, normally it should be layered on top of each other. They actually (as you can see in the photo) don't layer it on top of each other. But they put it side by side. So what this does it basically give you just a shriveled piece of tuna on each roll. And they hide this by putting the avocado and mango side by side next to it. So basically you're getting 66% less tuna on a roll that's supposed to be basically a tuna roll.

Dynamite.. a little Too sweet for me
Helen C.

The people here were nice. We ordered DYNAMITE- this was slightly too sweet for me. SALMON SUSHI- this was good IKURA (Salmon eggs)- this was my son's favorite. TUNA- did not like SCALLOP- this was just ok. EEL- this was just ok Not sure if it's bc I ordered the wrong things.. maybe they are better with rolls?

I've been coming to Sushi Gone Wild for a long time, and it's definitely my go-to spot for sushi. The food is always fresh, tasty, and consistent, and the prices are really good for the quality you get. The service is always friendly and reliable, which makes the experience even better. The restaurant is small, so it can fill up quickly at dinner, but lunchtime is usually quiet and perfect if you want to dine in. This time I ordered to-go since it was dinner, and everything was packaged well and just as delicious at home. Always a favorite spot of mine

Sorry, I was unaware of coupons. But, the combination lunch specials are fabulous deals

Do they have all you can eat sushi?

They will keep preparing sushi until you're stuffed, but no, it isn't for a flat fee.

They not only had a space that big, but it also felt private. The staff was super attentive. The food is great. I ordered a rainbow roll. All the fish was super fresh. Even though we had a large group, we all got our food at around the same time. It was a great lunch for our work pal.

We chose Ise-Shima at the Miyako Hotel for an early birthday celebration with my parents, wife,…read morechildren, sister and nephews. It should have been an easy win. The room is beautiful. The chefs are visible. The staff is plentiful. The music is good. The atmosphere feels like the kind of place that understands hospitality. Unfortunately, the experience never quite came together. The first challenge was the temperature. The dining room felt more like a sauna than a restaurant. To his credit, our server Arthur worked hard to help and eventually got management to increase the air conditioning. He was easily the standout of the evening and did everything he could to salvage the experience. We ordered extensively, including the $130 Ise Course. Some of it was quite good. Some of it was surprisingly disappointing. The grilled lobster with yuzu miso and kinome was completely overcooked, dry and buried under too much sauce. One of the signature dishes of the course ended up being one of the weakest. The grilled yellowtail suffered from the same problem: dry, overcooked and lacking the care you would expect from a restaurant presenting a seasonal multi course menu at this price point. The larger issue was organization. Dishes constantly arrived with servers asking, "Who ordered this?" or "Who has the udon?" The dining room felt strangely disconnected from the kitchen. Food runners seemed unsure where dishes belonged, which created confusion throughout the meal. Then things really went sideways. Trying to be respectful, I asked that my parents be served first. Everyone eventually received their meals and continued eating. The problem was that my Ise Course never arrived in sequence. My family finished their meals. My children finished. My parents finished. My sister finished. And on my birthday, I sat there alone waiting for several missing courses while everyone else watched. A seasonal set menu is supposed to feel paced and intentional. Instead, it felt forgotten. Arthur again stepped in and spoke with management. The restaurant offered complimentary desserts, which was appreciated, although somewhat awkward because my meal was still arriving while everyone else was already moving on to dessert. What happened next genuinely surprised me. When the bill arrived, management returned and asked whether we would be willing to authorize an additional charge so gratuity could be increased from 18% to 20% because of the size of the party. After the heat, the delays, the confusion, the overcooked centerpiece dishes, the missed pacing and spending a birthday meal eating alone after everyone else had finished, it felt like the wrong conversation to be having. I don't enjoy writing reviews like this because there is clearly talent in the building and Arthur deserves recognition for how hard he worked. But hospitality is ultimately about making people feel cared for. On this visit, despite a beautiful room and some good food, that never happened.

I am disappointed in myself for waiting this long to try Ueno Sushi. I've been driving by this location on Carson st for 10 years. It used to be something else (Thai maybe?) before it was a sushi restaurant. I think it was something else before that. I never went here because I thought the food would be mediocre given the history of changes but I was so wrong. SO WRONG! I came here on a Friday night for a party of 1 and while the restaurant was full and many customers were coming in for their reservations, I did not have to wait. The Sashimi Combo 10pc was surprisingly generous. Every single piece of sashimi was huge. I honestly thought they forgot to cut each piece in half lol. It also comes with a bowl of rice, salad, and miso soup. I finished the night with blue fin toro sushi. For those who might find themselves confused like me, this is labeled Sushi on the menu, but it is better labeled as nigiri -- the sashimi on a small ball of rice. It comes with two pieces and the tuna was HUGE. I almost couldn't see the rice! I was blown away by what I was getting but it makes sense given the price I was paying. I was so happy. Overall, great food, wonderful portion sizes. Downside is the pricing but it matches what you're getting. The biggest downside is the parking. It is a small parking lot so you may have to get street parking. Other than that, I'm coming back.

It had a lunch special menu which showed several special items at a very affordable price. We picked the Negitoro Bowl from this special menu (at half of the regular price). The tuna had a balanced fat and was minced in a manner that I felt it melt in my mouth. It's a good match with rice. The Kaisen Bowl had a variety of seafoods and all of them tasted very fresh! The salty fish roe made the rice more flavorful. The Kaisen Bowl came with a miso soup and a salad. We also ordered a soba which was well cooked. We definitely will go back to try more dishes!

That is a NO-NO in the sushi world. I would assume that the mixture of rice/vinegar/water/salt/sugar/temp needs to be altered. We arrived right at opening (5:15 PM) without a reservation. We were told we could sit if we left before 6:30 PM because of a later booking. Since we were just having a quick dinner (4 adults and 1 child), we agreed. However, the terrible hospitality started immediately when she forced our group of 5 into a tight 4-person booth, making us extremely uncomfortable. Throughout the meal, IYA made us feel incredibly unwelcome, constantly rushing us and giving us dirty looks. Even though we were well aware of the time, she aggressively pushed the dessert menu and called for "last call" at 6:00 PM just to kick us out faster. When we politely asked for extra broth, she snapped that there would be an extra charge with a terrible attitude, then literally slammed the dish down on our table. The absolute worst part was her handling of my Service Dog. As someone who legally requires a service animal, I had my dog right next to me. Without even asking if it was a registered service animal, IYA rudely and aggressively demanded that I put the dog on the floor. Her complete lack of education, empathy, and legal understanding regarding service animals is deeply concerning and discriminatory. If you work in hospitality, basic manners and knowledge of service animal regulations are mandatory. IYA was incredibly rude, ignorant, and unprofessional.
