I'll start with the pros: I ordered a lunch special and I thought the portion size was perfect. It came with a small salad and rice. No one was in the restaurant, so the service was fast and the restaurant was extremely clean. I walked here while my dog was being groomed, so I didn't notice the parking. It's in a shopping center. Well, it's definitely not what it used to be! I don't know if they have new cooks or what! I'm sad to report that my pad Thai noodles were undercooked and the beef was so dry, it was not edible. Visiting Redondo Beach for the first time . My daughter is vegan & wanted vegan options. We were both starving. Looking forward to a good a Thai dinner. We ordered Drunken Noodles with tofu, along with spring rolls & peanut sauce. The spring rolls were tasteless & the peanut sauce was a sliver away from peanut butter! The Drunken Noodles came out & we knew we were in trouble! The noodles were bits n pieces , the tofu appeared to have been reheated over & over! Dried & tough, uneatable. Green pepper was raw & the carrots were also old . I wish I would've taken a picture of the plate. While in the restaurant I never smelled any food or food cooking in a wok! It seemed to me the food was microwaved heated. There were quite a lot of people picking up orders. Bags were coming out of the kitchen so fast!!! Came here a few years back and its gone downhill a bit since then. One thing I really enjoy is the atmosphere but thats about it now. The portions are pretty small for what you are paying for. The pad see ew used to be really good but now it lacks flavor. The phanaeng curry wasn't terrible and had a very prominent flavor profile. This is a great spot to go to! The food, ambiance and service is good, and the prices aren't terrible. I wouldn't say it's anything special, but I haven't explored the entire menu so I could be missing hidden gems! I enjoyed the beef Pad Thai I got, it felt fresh. When I first tried Yum Thai several years ago, I wasn't super impressed. It was good, but I had a better Thai food elsewhere. After trying it again, my opinion changed completely! I work right across the street so this is definitely a my go-to for local Thai food. Especially for their lunch specials... they give big portions & it's a great deal! Their panang curry is my favorite dish, either with chicken or veggies but I've also had it with tofu & that was good! I don't like bell peppers so I always ask to get it without & they are always nice about not adding those in. Another favorite of mine is their Tom Kha soup with chicken. It's delicious. Honestly one of the best I've had in comparison to some other Thai spots. If you're craving noodles, their beef Pad See Ew is also pretty tasty but the curry is always my favorite. At the end of a strip mall with plenty of parking. There was inside and outside seating. We sat wherever we wanted and our drink orders were taken right away. My wife had orange chicken and it was very good. The star of the night was the asparagus seafood, wow it was good. I've never had an asparagus dish with this much asparagus. So the wife and I were hungry (starving) and decided we were in the mood for Thai. We had been here before, and decided we wanted to try the seafood soup but with coconut milk. To start we had the firecracker appetizer which were shrimp wrapped in an egg roll form topped served with a sweet and sour sauce. These were delicious and got our appetites going. To drink we got their delicious Thai iced tea. Usually it's a hit or miss at certain restaurants with these drinks cause they are either too sweet or not prepped correctly. Here they are amazing. The seafood soup was delicious with the coconut milk and we were able to substitute the mussels for extra shrimp. That was a nice detail. Service was good especially knowing it was the waitress' first day on the job and got our order correct. Last we got their pad Thai with beef which was good but my wife said it was a bit saucy but good. Overall a nice experience to eat here on a weekend since it's never too crowded and the wait time is never bad. read more

Tom Kha Soup was excellent! Slightly sweet, but mostly creamy and comforting. I don't know why I waited so long to come back. Chicken Satay is sooooo good!!! Was visiting from out of town and this little gem was walking distance from my hotel. The first time I had the Panang chicken. Simply delicious. Service was excellent. Restaurant was very clean. The second time I came here I had the papaya salad. Service was excellent again and the salad was the best I ever had. Even better than the ones I had in Thailand. Thai food is one of my favorites and after seeing the highly rated reviews for this spot, I knew I had to try it! Located in a strip mall, it was pretty easy to find and had parking right out front. We immediately got a table when we came in on a Saturday night. The staff were very attentive and quickly took our order. We opted for the spicy drunken noodles and red curry. Surprisingly, the curry didn't automatically come with rice, so be sure to order some to eat it over. That is an additional cost, though! The noodle dish was super tasty, however the vegetables were under cooked. It felt like we were eating raw carrots throughout. The red curry was incredible. There were about 3 tables that were either served or in the verge of finishing their meal. The restaurant was nicely decorated. The server walked us to our table and walked away. She didn't offer us water. We had questions about the menu, but it appears that there were only 2 servers. There was another employee working on take it orders only. We were ready to order, but could not find anyone to take our order. For food, we ordered the green papaya salad, tom kha, and the bbq chicken. The Thai tea was done perfectly with the perfect mixture of tea and half and half. It wasn't too sweet. 5/5 The green papaya salad was perfect. The lime dressing was wonderful. The salad had julienne green beans, carrots, and cherry tomatoes. Crushed peanuts were sprinkled in the salad. It was garage when 3 or 4 romaine lettuce leaves. I have this dish 5/5. The tom kha was delicious. It was sweet and sour and had coconut milk. We ordered ours with chicken. There was mushroom, tomatoes, and lemongrass in the soup. The soup was topped off with some green onions. It would be better if the pot had something to keep the soup warm for the entire meal, like other Thai restaurants. We were enjoying the other food and then came back to finishing our cold soup. I have to deduct 1 point for that. 4/5. The bbq chicken had good flavors, but it was so dry. Even the dark meat was very dry. The honey dipping sauce was really good. If they could figure out how to not make the chicken so dry, this would be a go to for be. 2/5. The customer service was 2/5. There were enough people, but they wouldn't come out from the kitchen. If they came out, they wouldn't make eye contact. There was one lady that wouldn't smoke and just seemed annoyed the entire time. My family loves this spot because of the quality of the food and it's freshness. I wanted to try something different this go round and order the pumpkin curry. I'm taking off a star because the curry did not come with rice and I found that to be strange. However, the flavor of the curry was delicious and the pumpkin pieces that were inside were so tender and melted in my mouth.. I ordered this dish with the chicken, which was also well seasoned and everything came together so beautifully. My mom got a beef dish that included broccoli and it was also really tasty. Luckily she remembered to order rice so we were able to share her portion. Again, my only gripe is the lack of rice with the curry and maybe I just need to remember to order it for next time. The Yum Thai Starter, a combination of golden shrimp, veggie crispy rolls & crispy wontons, was the perfect appetizer. We followed up with tasty chow mein, pad thai and garlic pepper. Chef Tommy is top-notch! The decor was inviting. The bathrooms immaculate. We promised each other to go back during mango season for the mango with sticky rice, one of my favorite desserts. We came here on Friday afternoon after returning back from doing a bunch of errands. I got the Pad Thai lunch special ($12) with chicken and a Thai iced tea. My boyfriend got the BBQ Chicken lunch special ($12) and a Thai iced tea. I personally like that their lunch specials are from 11 am - 3 pm. That's a solid and fair time frame. My Pad Thai noodles were good but the only areas for improvement are to put a bit more chicken/meat to even out the noodle proportion and the noodles were a bit on the firm side (a little more than al dente). Other than that I still enjoyed my meal! I'm happy we stopped here because I've been wanting to try it. We usually come to the same plaza for Handel's. There's ample parking and aside from the Handel's, there's a CVS, nail salon, and a few other businesses that share the plaza. read more
