    Sweet shrimp miso soup

Service was awsome. Food was great. Miss soup with sweet shrimp was to dye for, and probably belly appetizers was great, they have many items to choose from that's not sushi or seafood related, all in great flavors.

All time favorite for me. I can eat here everyday. Always a feel good spot. I love theee rice balls, chicken wings and balls and sashimi. Wasabi is fresh along with the drinks. Service has been consistent over 16 to 18 years I been coming here. Love theee place, wish it was closer to my home

I can't wait to come back again and try more items! We made it a point to come shortly after they opened to avoid a wait. The place is a good size and very homey. SO MANY FOOD OPTIONS! From bowls to yakitori to sushi to noodles. We opted for tenzaru, rainbow roll, and a few yakitori - tsukune, thigh, chicken wing, pork belly, and pork sausage. I would get it all again lol but like I said, I really want to try everything! I like to ask myself if I'd get the same items again - yes. And would I bring a friend here - also yes!

Iccho has been a staple for my family for years! We love the friendly, busy environment that Iccho has. It can get pretty crowded around dinner, so keep that in mind. I have been ordering the yu-dofu for years. It is so simple but so tasty. Their ponzu sauce is the best. I also enjoy their salad, which has an onion-y dressing. I've noticed the prices keep going up here, and it is pretty pricey for what you get.

Amazing Japanese food! Everything we have here is great! My favorites are the curry and the katsu-don. We always love coming back for more!

Alwayz a great time at Iccho. Excellent service. My hubby said his demi-glace sauce Hamburg was awesome, he ordered an egg topping. My salted grilled mackarel was super tasty (but of course there are a lot of bones. if bones aren't your thing maybe go for the salmon). will be back soon!!! :)

    Sapporo draft 16 oz

I've been coming to Iccho for at least 25 years. This was our family favorite, as it was close to my childhood home and it offered just about every Japanese dish under the sun. It's a hole-in-the-wall with different sized tables, booths and a sushi bar. It can get busy during peak hours, and they have a waiting list sign-in sheet to mark your spot in line. They're located in the Rolling Hills Shopping Plaza off of Crenshaw and near CPK. Plenty of parking is available in the shared lot, but it tends to fill up fast. My go-to dish is their nabeyaki udon. It comes in a hot pot with all of the usual suspects, but my favorite item that they include is one piece of mochi! So delicious! The broth is not as flavorful as other broths that I've had, but overall it's very tasty. I also often get the yaki onigiri, which is basically a grilled rice ball. That's also one of my favorites! They don't offer happy hour, but their beers are often reasonably priced. On my most recent visit, I got a 16 oz Sapporo draft for just $5. Service is hit or miss depending on how busy they are. They usually start off strong, but mid-way through your meal you'll likely have to flag them down. Despite the fact that they're not perfect, they're still one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the Torrance-Rolling Hills area.

It has great food, friendly service and a warm atmosphere. For Valentine's Day, they had a complimentary drink for all the ladies. I enjoyed the refreshing drink that they offered. It was fruity and sweet and went well with the yakitori we ordered. Among the skewers we ordered were Chicken Thigh, Chicken Heart, Chicken Meatballs, Pork Belly, Pork Belly with Okura, Kobe Style Beef, Oyster Mushroom with Truffle Oil, Zucchini, Potato and Duck and Green Onion. We also ordered a Yaki Onichazuke as well Shochu Yuzu with Soda and Cream Soda. From the skewers, my favorite were the Chicken Thigh, Chicken Meatballs, Oyster Mushroom with Truffle and Pork Belly with Okura. The skewers were perfectly grilled and were full of smoky and savory flavor. The meat was tender and juicy. I also enjoyed the Cream Soda. I loved the sweet, fizzy and creaminess. It had the right hint of vanilla. Last but not least was the Yaki Onichazuke. This consisted of a grilled rice ball in homemade chicken soup, green onions and dried seaweed. The chicken broth was heartwarming and flavorful. It enhanced the crispy yaki onigori. It was the perfect bowl of warmth and umami. Hasu Japanese Izakaya & Grill offers comfort food elevated! We walked in right on time for our reservation (because we're adults who respect the space-time continuum) and were ushered into a booth with "privatey" curtains. I'm not saying they'd hide you from the FBI, but they certainly provided enough cover for us to giggle and navigate stupidly through the menu. You can also order directly to a friendly human too. The atmosphere is colorful, lively, unstuffy, and private enough to enjoy good convo but not awko quiet. You order everything via an iPad, which is dangerous because when pictures of gyoza are staring you in the face, your impulse control vanishes. We ordered "a little bit of everything," which is code for "the table was structurally compromised by the weight of our dinner." * The Highlights: The pickled cucumbers (crisp enough to hear in the next county), the pork bowl, and sushi that actually tasted like it came from the ocean. The Fluids: Cold Asahi and Lemon Chu-His. Highly recommended if you enjoy being happy. The Verdict This spot is a unicorn--it works for kids, first dates, or "290th dates" where you both just want to stare at an iPad and eat kimchi in a tent. The Heartbreak They have a "10-Second Hit It" game at the front door where you can win a free meal. We were this close. We didn't win, but we're definitely going back to seek revenge.

Yakitori was for the most part $8 for a set of two. The quality was not worth the $4 per skewer. For skewers, we had gotten liver, heart, wing, chicken meatball, thigh with onion, chicken breast with plum. Also got the cucumber salad, fried chicken skin, and spicy karaage. The biggest complaint was that most of the skewers that didn't come with sauce were under salted and I would say it's pretty dry as well. The cucumber salad was bad because it was bitter in every piece I ate so I ended up not finishing it. The spicy karaage was an absolute no. I took one bite and didn't finish it. My boyfriend ate a small piece and the rest of the dish went untouched. When it came to ordering the finishing dish, I had called for service. The gentleman said brb he's going to grab his tablet... Only for him to come back to grab the table next to mine's order and left lol. I had to call for service again with someone else and ordered a grilled rice ball and the ramen. Grilled rice ball was a disappointment (not even surprised anymore). It was completely soft (probably too much sauce) so it wasn't crispy on the outside at all. The boyfriend enjoyed the ramen and I did try the broth and it was actually pretty good. Um, I guess the best part was the yuzu sour drink I had ordered and the broth from the ramen. I also ended up canceling my second dinner reservation for next time when the skewers came out. Never again.

The grill master mostly stared through the room, which made the whole place feel more awkward than welcoming. As for the food, some skewers were good, but others were noticeably over salted. For something as simple and focused as yakitori, the execution has to be tighter than that. There are plenty of yakitori spots around.
