    Shrimp with broccoli
    Paula L.

Asian Bites at the Promenade PV is a great little hidden gem for quick, Chinese food. It's located inside the shopping center next to Misc Coffee. There is plenty of easy parking in the mall's parking structure. The ambiance is very simple and casual - there are only about 4 seats, so it's definitely more of a takeout spot, but we were able to grab a table and eat there. Despite the small space, it felt welcoming and efficient. The service was excellent - fast, attentive, and friendly. Our server made sure everything came out quickly, and the food arrived in no time. The cook (who seemed like the owner) was incredibly impressive - she was cooking at lightning speed. Honestly, it was amazing... I wish I could cook that fast! We ordered the Chicken Chow Fun, Shrimp with Broccoli, Hot & Sour Soup, and Sautéed String Beans with Beef. Everything was good, with the standout being the shrimp with broccoli - the sauce was rich and flavorful. The chow fun was also well done, with perfectly cooked noodles. The hot & sour soup also had good flavor and was a good portion (that we were able to split it with two people). The string beans with beef were tasty too, though I think it could've used a bit more garlic or seasoning compared to the shrimp dish. They also have a self-serve drink station, which is a nice, convenient touch. What really stood out was the hospitality - when we asked for a bag, the cook/owner came out herself to help pack our food, which was such a kind gesture. Overall, great food, amazing service, and a hardworking team behind it all. We'll definitely be back - especially to try the dumplings next time!

Got the Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken with String Bean and a cup of Hot & Sour Soup. Everything was delicious. The Chow Mein and the Chicken w/String Bean were flavorful. The Hot & Sour Soup had a nice texture. You can see they used tofu, bamboo shoots and mushrooms (regular and wood ear) in their ingredients for the soup. My only suggestion would be to add a splash or two of vinegar for more acidity. Service was very friendly and prompt. Decent amount of booths and tables for inside dining. No issues with parking since they are located in the PV Promenade. Definitely a mom and pop shop, which are really cool to support. Definitely will be back to dine in so that I can try their Green Scallion Pancake and Potstickers (I think fried items are best to eat right away so you get that crispiness).

I visited during their soft opening. It's a small casual dining atmosphere with four booths. You order and pay at the counter, they hand you a pager, and your food is delivered to your table. There are the usual condiments at each table. Ie, Soy sauce, sriracha. The interior of the restaurant was clean. I ordered a cup of Hot & sour soup; Vegetarian potstickers; Chicken & corn dumplings; and Chicken chow fun. All the food tasted great. The hot & sour soup is listed as spicy and it was as advertised. The potstickers and dumplings come eight to an order. I enjoy eating authentic Chinese food. Service was friendly and efficient. As I was eating, I was already planning on being a repeat customer. I took a copy of their menu so I can see what other items I will be ordering in the future. Parking: Free, covered mall parking.

The food here is so good!! I love going to the theater here and I had passed by this restaurant so I wanted to try it since I love dumplings. 10000000/10 ! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings, xiao long bao, beef chow mein and chicken fried rice and it was all so good. The portions are big too I had plenty to take home for leftovers, which I am excited to eat later. My friend had ordered the house fruit tea drink and I gave it a try, really good drink. Very refreshing. Definitely will come back more often. Amazing service and the restaurant has such a peaceful/cozy vibe to it.

Very fresh and good tasting Chinese food. The dishes are all made to order. The chef worked at a restaurant in Hong Kong and opened his own place here. It's a cozy place in the PV mall near the Good Stuff.

Green Scallion Pancake. Light and tasty.

The only place that does okinawa musubi that I knew of is in koreatown, and I don't know of any spots that does onigirazu in LA. The okinawa style musubi was amazing and monstrously thick, thicker than some burgers I've had. I really enjoyed the shrimp tempura onigirazu as well, and will definitely be back to try the other varieties. I once traveled for 40 min in New York to try out a spot that also had shrimp tempura onigirazus, but they were only sold prepackaged and cold, so it's such a bonus to have them made fresh. Owners were extremely friendly and offered a large cup of cold water when I picked up my food which is a god send in this heat wave we've been experiencing. This is such a friendly and affordable mom and pop shop, and my platonic ideal of a restaurant. I would be a regular here at least twice a week if I was a resident, I'm jealous of the locals that can frequent this gem anytime they want.

I went for lunch on a Saturday. The food was outstanding. For some reason Yelp isn't loading my…read morepicture. I got the spicy beef soup. Ordinarily, I don't care for the texture of shredded beef, but that's not on them, and the food was terrific. The banchan were plentiful and tasty; the cabbage kimchi was a standout. So why only 3 stars? From the beginning, the waiter, an older gentleman, was unsmiling. That's ok. I don't need him to smile or be friendly. I just need him to be a good waiter. But he wasn't -- at least not to me. He didn't check back on me even once. Never asked if I needed water, more banchan, another beer, never even glanced at me. He passed me multiple times, however, to dote on the other 3 tables that were occupied while I was there. I was the only one he completely ignored. There are three possible explanations that I could come up with, since when I spoke to him he assured me I had not offended him in some way. The first explanation, although unacceptable, isn't sinister. The other two are problematic. 1. I was the only one sitting by myself, and he thought he'd get a bigger tip at the other tables. It's not an ok thing to do: ignoring solo diners. But it happens, and I know everyone's got to make a living. This is the *most* benign explanation I can come up with. Or . . . 2. I was the only non-Asian in the place. 3. I was the only person with a visible disability in the place. I gave the waiter a chance. I calmly and quietly asked him to explain why he had ignored me completely and served the other tables to my exclusion. His answer: "I didn't want to disturb you." No, I didn't buy that either, and I told him so. I'm not quick to jump to conclusions like #2 or #3, but it's not looking good at this point for Kim's BBQ. I have friends who live and eat in PV, and God help this restaurant if I ever conclude that either of those is the reason for my treatment today. If I ever conclude that, I will not let it go. Clean it up, Kim's BBQ. There's eyes on you.

My wife and I visited this Korean BBQ restaurant on a Monday evening around 6:30pm. The restaurant…read morewas only about one-third full, and after a short wait, we were seated in the middle of the dining room. Unfortunately, that was the last interaction we had with the staff. After being seated, we waited approximately 15 minutes without a single server coming by to greet us, take drink order, or acknowledge our table. We then began trying to get someone's attention. Between the two of us, we waved multiple times at each of the three waiters on the floor, as well as an older woman who appeared to be the manager or person in charge. Every time, they looked directly at us and then continued doing whatever they were doing without coming over. We spent another 5-10 minutes trying to flag someone down, but still not a single employee came to our table. At that point, we were honestly in disbelief! We've never walked out of a restaurant before, but after waiting 25 minutes with zero service and repeated attempts to get assistance, we finally got up and walked out. What makes this even more disappointing is that we had come intending to support a local business and order the mid-level $150+ bbq dinner combo for two. Instead, we left feeling ignored and unwelcome. We understand that restaurants can get busy and that mistakes happen. However, this wasn't a case of slow service--it was a complete lack of service despite multiple efforts to get anyone's attention. Based on this experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

The pickled daikon and carrots also cut through the richness of the meat. We also got the spicy Cajun bag, which had a good amount of seafood and was easily splittable between two people. The seafood tasted fresh, and the sauce was very flavorful! The Thai tea was also creamy and refreshing, perfect for fighting the heat of the seafood. Food arrives and we're given a pair of cafeteria lady plastic gloves, 2 of the thinnest papper plates imaginable and about 7 napkins. Theres no covers on the bench so I slice our bag open to where we can grab the food but not spill out on the table. Food gymnastics! The food: I dont know if im spoiled by other places, but it could also be that this isnt specifically a sea food boil place. Its a Asian fusion location with an option of a seafood boil bag, but i come to expect a bit more out of the sauce option. Like the sauce that was in the bag was just enough to coat the food and that's it. I seen like a couple sliced garlic pieces but really? Like 6 or 7 slices? Then the sausages.... theyre store bought hilshire farms sausages... and to charge $1 A SLICE IS DIABOLICAL! The clams were chewy, the shrimp was mushy... im forever now gonna take that 30 minte drive to anywhere for seafood boil. I really wanted to like this place, I really did... but im sorry, I just cant do a boil from here again.
