Great food, great service...and a super short wait. Clean restaurant and good vibes throughout.

Another great meal. Lots of bento boxes around but my go to is the rolls. Seated fast and quick service. Bright and lots of space, roomy table and booths.

Always a great experience at Sushi House! Got the sashimi platter (forgot which one it is but I believe it is $50). I saw someone else get it on yelp and the waitress let me know which one it is on the menu. Delicious! The lambada roll is my favorite! My only complaint tonight is the pieces were so thin! Usually they have THICK rolls! Maybe a new sushi chef? Wonderful calm dinner. Always coming back! Until next time!

Cute little spot right by the water, great for grabbing sushi after a walk along the bay. The service was pretty standard and friendly enough, but nothing super memorable. We had a late lunch so there was no wait. We ordered a bunch of rolls: Lion King Roll, Samurai Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Caterpillar Roll and the portions were huge. You'll definitely walk out with leftovers! Overall it was an okay sushi meal, not the most authentic sushi experience, but it's an option if you want a meal by the water with massive portions that will keep you full.

Delicious and huge portions! Service varies but the food is good! Definitely order the bentos!

Service was prompt and the food was tasty. Abundant parking and we day in a booth so we were very comfortable. We've been coming here for decades and will likely continue in the future.

Wow this place is terrific! The Bento Box is a great value and you get a lot of food. Comes with soup and salad. I only got a picture of my soup and when my Bento Box arrived, I started scarfing it down immediately. A huge Yelp faux pax, I forgot to take a picture!! I ordered mine with Teriyaki Beef and California Roll. The California Roll was so fresh and delicious, I had no idea a Cali Roll could taste that good. It's usually such an underrated roll but this was a stand out. The Teriyaki Beef was a generous portion and very tender. This restaurant is so clean and spacious with lots of light from the wall to wall windows overlooking the water. Service was efficient with lots of different servers all helping out.

Ordered takeout and I'm afraid to eat this - can someone say food poisoning! What color is that "fish"

I ordered many sushi rolls and oysters. The sushi rolls are in big portions and very generous with the serving. The quality of the sushi was pretty mediocre. The fish was not the best quality and the oysters tasted a bit fishy. Over the ambience of the place is very nice and it is by the shoreline.

It's been a while since I came back here, and it's still as packed as ever. Luckily we checked in on yelp ahead of time so waiting wasn't all that bad for us. Food still just as good as it was back when I last came here. Service this time around was slow, but that's cause they were short on servers. They tried their best to be attentive.

Came on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm near the end of lunch hour. The place was clean & empty, we were quickly seated. I ordered the Chucky Roll, Lion King Roll, and Scallops roll. The Chucky roll was good, I didn't care for the texture of the scallops roll much. My favorite was the Lion King rolls. Overall I would recommend this sushi place, can't wait to come back and try more items!

The service was quite good, and the food was decent overall. However, if you're looking for a truly authentic Japanese dining experience, this may not be the place. I ordered a $30 bento dinner, which came with tempura, soup, salad, and rice, along with a choice of two main items. I chose tuna sashimi and yakiniku, and the portions were very generous. That said, the flavors didn't quite feel traditionally Japanese. The restaurant itself is fairly large, with plenty of seating and a pleasant atmosphere. We also ordered three different rolls, though I don't remember their names. The rolls were enjoyable and tasted good, but the overall flavor profile leaned more toward a Japanese-American fusion rather than classic Japanese cuisine. Overall, it's a comfortable place with good service and generous portions--nice for a casual meal, just not ideal if authenticity is what you're seeking.

Sushi House is one of my go to spots, especially since it's close to Alameda beach. It's honestly a nice place to hang out with friends or family after being by the water. The sushi is always fresh and really good, and they have a lot of options to choose from. They also have a good variety of drinks. It does get pretty busy, especially on weekends, but they have a waitlist iPad (Yelp) right when you walk in and a small waiting area in front, so it's pretty organized. If you're doing takeout, you can just call ahead for pickup which is super convenient. The restroom is clean and well maintained too :) They do close for a bit during the day and then reopen, so just keep that in mind. Overall, really solid spot. Good food, good location, and nice staff

Are reservations necessary for a party of 5?

No reservations necessary. You just have to put your names on the waiting list.

Are they taking orders in New Year's Eve?

Hi, I'm wondering if you're open and accepting phone orders right now? I have called a few times with no response.

Yes they are open typically till 9. We go there 2-3 times a week. If you can get through they will take a phone order but depending on the time and day your call may not get picked up. Late afternoon/evening is the busiest. They are open everyday.

What hours do they only serve the lunch menu ? What time does dinner menu start?

Are they open during this pandemic for take-out?

    Yes

    Can you do Online ordering?

I wish they do but not yet.

    Do they have air conditioning?

Yes, totally do. Plus its by the water so its not usually very hot anyways.

Is this place all you can eat?

No it's not. AYCE sushi places are like D quality sushi lol.

The good: fresh, quality ingredients The bad: started with the host/wait list. I accidentally added my name twice for a solo diner. Host thought it was a mistake and completely removed me from the wait list and seated other parties that came in after me. Thoroughly confused - she didn't even call my name to confirm so I had to go up to her and ask. No apology either. Was seated at the counter where solo diners usually sit. Service was non existent. Server came up to me and ask "what would you like to order?" I've never been there before. No "hi my name is ... I'll be your server" nada. They're just a machine - people in people out. The ramen - broth was fine. The squiggly noodles aren't my favorite. Expected to have kernel corn but had corn ribs instead (good thing I'm good with chopsticks!) The charshu was just okay. Enoki topping was just ... aight. The nice touch was that they didn't put it in the ramen and served it on the side to preserve its crunchiness because it definitely needed the texture! It was loud, busy, and nothing spectacular about the dining scene here. $55 dollars later (ramen, 2 additional toppings, one box of sake) ... I sadly don't think it was worth it.

We like…read moreto try to find something near residential and walk, but even then it can get frustrating to find a parking spot. Once you walk into the restaurant, there's indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating is covered by a patio, and on colder days, I'm assuming they will put a heater out there? I'm not too sure, since I don't actually eat outside often. Indoor is well lit up, and has a decent amount of seating. The biggest table I have seen seats around 6 people, but can be more if you have small children I suppose. We mostly order the rolls here, and to be fair, it's a decent pricing. However, it is a hit or miss. 1. Lion King - Decent. Taste all the same everywhere you go if you ask me. 2. Deep Fried Spicy Tuna - Must have, definitely my favorite. 3. Golden Gate - More on the saucy side with imitation crab meat, it's basic. 4. Dragon Roll - Again, same anywhere you go. 5. Double Salmon Roll - Salmon on the inside, salmon on the outside. Cheaper alternative than to just getting nigiri or salmon sashimi. The customer service here is not the best in my opinion. The first time we took a friend there for his birthday, and it was terrible. The host, waiter/server, and manager disregarded us. However, a table next to us got the friendliest treatment. The type of treatment you give when you expect them to come back so you can address them by their name. The second time we've been here, the customer service was basic. No expectations, just take your order, serve, and a simple question of how is everything. Honestly, customer service could have been much more reasonable at even the most basic level. Overall, the food is ok. I wouldn't say it's like the best, but if you're here for lunch or a quick bite, it's fine.

I got lucky because they asked if I had a reservation, and I did not have one. I was surprised about the reservation, since it was a Thursday evening at 5pm. I understood later though. The dining room is small and intimate. It has a perfect Japanese flair to it. It took a little while to get service after I was seated, I was close to finding somewhere else to eat, But I am so glad i stayed! I opted for the OG handroll selection. I believe the simple dishes let the quality of the food shine through, since there is nothing to hide behind. Each roll is brought out individually on a wooden stand. They are left open so you can see the ingredients. I appreciate that the soy sauce is in a dropper bottle. It is meant as a seasoning, not to bathe the food in. I have not ever had soy sauce this good. It is their house recipe and it is so much better than any commercially avalable sauce. Even the ginger and wasabi were incredible. The Zuke Maguro was the best Tuna I have ever had. Negihama with green onion was delicious and fatty. The Salmon roll with lemon was phenomenal. Spicy Tuna with Tempura crunch was seasoned perfectly. Snow Crab and garlic chives was light and creamy. I had to get one more Salmon roll, It was so good! I had a Sake flight that paired so well with the hand rolls. My standout favorite of the night was the black cod with truffle butter, it was absolutely incredible. I also started with the miso soup, which was the perfect way to begin the meal. The cocktails were sensational. They have such a wide variety, and although I can't remember the names of the ones I ordered, my server was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me choose drinks that paired perfectly with each course. His recommendations really elevated the entire dining experience. Unfortunately, I had a show to catch across the street at the Fox Theater, so I found myself rushing through the end of my meal. The silver lining is that Yonsei is literally just steps away from the venue, making it a perfect dinner spot before a show. Be sure to ask the chef for their opinion too if you can't decide. The soup and the salad with the omakase was good - the dressing for the salad was pretty yummy too, though probably could've used a tiny bit less of it! I think with all the add-ons we really ran up the bill, but it was still really good, unrushed service, and just a nice peaceful spot for our group to catch up.
