I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years, so I was disappointed by my recent experience. On 6/22/2026, my bill was $55.38, and I left a $5 cash tip. However, when I checked my card transaction, I was charged $65.38 instead. I recommend that everyone take a photo of their receipt before leaving the restaurant and double-check the amount that posts to their account. I hope this was an honest mistake, but it's important to review your transactions carefully.

Great food, great service...and a super short wait. Clean restaurant and good vibes throughout.

Another great meal. Lots of bento boxes around but my go to is the rolls. Seated fast and quick service. Bright and lots of space, roomy table and booths.

Always a great experience at Sushi House! Got the sashimi platter (forgot which one it is but I believe it is $50). I saw someone else get it on yelp and the waitress let me know which one it is on the menu. Delicious! The lambada roll is my favorite! My only complaint tonight is the pieces were so thin! Usually they have THICK rolls! Maybe a new sushi chef? Wonderful calm dinner. Always coming back! Until next time!

Cute little spot right by the water, great for grabbing sushi after a walk along the bay. The service was pretty standard and friendly enough, but nothing super memorable. We had a late lunch so there was no wait. We ordered a bunch of rolls: Lion King Roll, Samurai Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Caterpillar Roll and the portions were huge. You'll definitely walk out with leftovers! Overall it was an okay sushi meal, not the most authentic sushi experience, but it's an option if you want a meal by the water with massive portions that will keep you full.

Delicious and huge portions! Service varies but the food is good! Definitely order the bentos!

Service was prompt and the food was tasty. Abundant parking and we day in a booth so we were very comfortable. We've been coming here for decades and will likely continue in the future.

Wow this place is terrific! The Bento Box is a great value and you get a lot of food. Comes with soup and salad. I only got a picture of my soup and when my Bento Box arrived, I started scarfing it down immediately. A huge Yelp faux pax, I forgot to take a picture!! I ordered mine with Teriyaki Beef and California Roll. The California Roll was so fresh and delicious, I had no idea a Cali Roll could taste that good. It's usually such an underrated roll but this was a stand out. The Teriyaki Beef was a generous portion and very tender. This restaurant is so clean and spacious with lots of light from the wall to wall windows overlooking the water. Service was efficient with lots of different servers all helping out.

It's been a while since I came back here, and it's still as packed as ever. Luckily we checked in on yelp ahead of time so waiting wasn't all that bad for us. Food still just as good as it was back when I last came here. Service this time around was slow, but that's cause they were short on servers. They tried their best to be attentive.

Came on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm near the end of lunch hour. The place was clean & empty, we were quickly seated. I ordered the Chucky Roll, Lion King Roll, and Scallops roll. The Chucky roll was good, I didn't care for the texture of the scallops roll much. My favorite was the Lion King rolls. Overall I would recommend this sushi place, can't wait to come back and try more items!

The service was quite good, and the food was decent overall. However, if you're looking for a truly authentic Japanese dining experience, this may not be the place. I ordered a $30 bento dinner, which came with tempura, soup, salad, and rice, along with a choice of two main items. I chose tuna sashimi and yakiniku, and the portions were very generous. That said, the flavors didn't quite feel traditionally Japanese. The restaurant itself is fairly large, with plenty of seating and a pleasant atmosphere. We also ordered three different rolls, though I don't remember their names. The rolls were enjoyable and tasted good, but the overall flavor profile leaned more toward a Japanese-American fusion rather than classic Japanese cuisine. Overall, it's a comfortable place with good service and generous portions--nice for a casual meal, just not ideal if authenticity is what you're seeking.

Ordered takeout and I'm afraid to eat this - can someone say food poisoning! What color is that "fish"

We were pleasantly surprised! I havent visited the Sushi house in over a decade, but I was in the area with some friends and they wanted sushi. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4PM and it was quite empty so we were seated immediately. Parking was easy. When we sat down, they brought us our menus and tea, and they were prompt to ask us for our orders. The orders came really quick, and we ordered the lion king(which everyone knows it typically takes a while). What we ordered: Lion King(4/5): This was the first this we were served and it was hot and delicious. Thet did skimp out on the salmon a little, you can tell how thin the layer it, it's the thinnest salmon I've seen on a lion king roll. They do add a lot of rice so it's filling. $18 for this roll. Hella hot(3/5): Okay not as hot and flavorful as we thought it'd be. It was average. Also $18, we didn't think it was worth $18. Marine boy(4/5): Unique combination with the salmon skin and unagi with the raw fish. We did enjoy this one and I'd never had a roll like this before. Matcha cheesecake(5/5): Yum! Delicious, but small. I guess that's just the norm though. The tea was also really good. We spent some time enjoying the tea with our matcha cheesecake desert and they didn't rush us to leave which was nice. The place did start getting bush around 5PM. Between three of us, we spent around $75. The prices do seem steep when you see the price tag of $18/roll. However, the rolls are decently substantial and the 3 of us were full.

Are reservations necessary for a party of 5?

No reservations necessary. You just have to put your names on the waiting list.

Are they taking orders in New Year's Eve?

Hi, I'm wondering if you're open and accepting phone orders right now? I have called a few times with no response.

Yes they are open typically till 9. We go there 2-3 times a week. If you can get through they will take a phone order but depending on the time and day your call may not get picked up. Late afternoon/evening is the busiest. They are open everyday.

What hours do they only serve the lunch menu ? What time does dinner menu start?

Are they open during this pandemic for take-out?

    Yes

    Can you do Online ordering?

I wish they do but not yet.

    Do they have air conditioning?

Yes, totally do. Plus its by the water so its not usually very hot anyways.

Is this place all you can eat?

No it's not. AYCE sushi places are like D quality sushi lol.

The quality of the fish was excellent, everything tasted fresh, and you could really appreciate the simplicity of each hand roll. The rice was well-seasoned, and every bite highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. The premium hand rolls were definitely the stars, fatty, flavorful, if you're a fan of uni and wagyu you have to try it. The Maguro Ponzu and Tuna Tartare was refreshing and light, it's a great appetizer to share between hand rolls. That said, I have to be honest, it is kinda pricey. The premium hand rolls add up quickly, so it's definitely more of a treat-yourself kind of meal rather than an everyday sushi spot. Still, if you're willing to spend on fresh hand rolls, it's worth checking them out.

We started with the 4-handroll set, then added a few more handrolls à la carte. Each one was tasty, but the shiitake handroll was the biggest surprise. I usually assume veggie handrolls in a set are more of a filler item, but this one was so savory and flavorful that it honestly deserves its own little spotlight. The absolute star of the meal, though, was the Best Catch Box: negitoro, uni, ikura, and Hokkaido scallops all in one bowl?! Literally all of my favorite things together for only $29. I think about coming back for that little box at least every other day. Moral of the story: the TikToks were right. Come here ASAP.

It was a wonderfully hearty ramen with a balance of fresh and simple ingredients. This was perfect and allowed the delicious broth to really be the star. LAMB RAMEN. 5/5. VEGAN KAARAGE MUSHROOM. Made to be reminiscent of fried chicken, these were very pleasant and paired with our broth. I would order this again. I am interested in knowing the preparation method for this as the inside was piping hot while the outside was just warm- almost like it was reheated. So admittedly I came here twice by accident because I forgot being here the first time. My wife and I will come into town there and again to hang out in Alameda and when we do, this is one of the better restaurants in town. Seems to me its a family operation, service is warm and friendly. Ambiance is laid back, cafe style. The menu has all the typical fare, I got the teryaki salmon meal both times and it was pretty good. Could use a little more sauce but you can always ask and I'm sure they'd be happy to provide at no charge. Also got the salmon collar which was particularly good. Prices are a little high for the area, but I would expect that given there's not a lot of sushi around, so they deserve the bump. 10$/nigiri though on some salmon is a *sconch* too high, they should do this a bit smarter. Only big things for me is just keep the hot sake HOT, it was mildly warm when I got mine, but this a common gripe I say about tons of places so not really gonna make a big deal about it. I'm on a mission to get house hot sake hotter across these lands. All in all, comparatively its great for Alameda, but would not stack up at these prices anywhere in Oakland, or SF. An excellent option of convenience if you don't feel like traveling.

Once you walk into the restaurant, there's indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating is covered by a patio, and on colder days, I'm assuming they will put a heater out there? I'm not too sure, since I don't actually eat outside often. Indoor is well lit up, and has a decent amount of seating. The biggest table I have seen seats around 6 people, but can be more if you have small children I suppose. We mostly order the rolls here, and to be fair, it's a decent pricing. However, it is a hit or miss. 1. Lion King - Decent. Taste all the same everywhere you go if you ask me. 2. Deep Fried Spicy Tuna - Must have, definitely my favorite. 3. Golden Gate - More on the saucy side with imitation crab meat, it's basic. 4. Dragon Roll - Again, same anywhere you go. 5. Double Salmon Roll - Salmon on the inside, salmon on the outside. Cheaper alternative than to just getting nigiri or salmon sashimi. The customer service here is not the best in my opinion. The first time we took a friend there for his birthday, and it was terrible. The host, waiter/server, and manager disregarded us. However, a table next to us got the friendliest treatment. The type of treatment you give when you expect them to come back so you can address them by their name. The second time we've been here, the customer service was basic. No expectations, just take your order, serve, and a simple question of how is everything. Honestly, customer service could have been much more reasonable at even the most basic level. Overall, the food is ok. I wouldn't say it's like the best, but if you're here for lunch or a quick bite, it's fine.
