The sushi here is usually really good, but something happened today that completely put me off from it. I had just sat down and picked my first dish when and employee sat next to me .. no problem, employees need to eat too... The restaurant was pretty busy, so she was directecly next to me without much space between... She put an empty plate in what space was between us and began to eat her food. After only a few bites, she began to spit chunks of food directly from her mouth to the plate. There was no way for me to avoid seeing the plate of regurgitated food because it was directly next to my plate. She did it about 4 times, and I had stopped eating bc I lost my appetite... Finally she spit another huge chunk of slimy chewed up food out of her mouth and it popped on the disgusting pile of spit-up... I gagged so bad and nearly vomited, and said "I'm sorry, but that is so gross"... Thankfully she moved the plate and sat somewhere else... But then a customer came in and sat there .. and the spot wasn't wiped down before the customer began eating... Just an off-putting experience read more

Came here today for a late lunch, it happened to be happy hour which was great because all the plates were discounted. As far as selection goes, there wasn't much, you see the same things on the revolver. Not much nigiri just basic rolls. However, I was able to order from the chef who handed us the orders, we got some salmon, yellowtail, and escolar. The fish was ok, basic quality. The salmon was also kind of frozen, it was good for a quick lunch. They count the plates at the end of your email then you pay at the front. Server was nice. read more

For a kaiten-zushi joint with small plates of sushi slowly passing by your booth, you probably shouldn't expect great sashimi, sushi, or hand rolls ... and, apparently, at Sushi Hurray you definitely shouldn't expect these or great service. I asked for a pair of spicy tuna Handrolls and Yellowtail Sashimi that never came ... until I asked for the check to leave when they asked if I still wanted them. Otherwise, this was mediocre sushi in motion. A bowl of freshly-prepped Poke was my favorite selection while the Salmon Sushi seemed almost ok. My husband and I went to Sushi Hurray for Happy Hour Sushi this afternoon. Our second visit at this restaurant. Today, we have met the 2 RUDEST waitresses on earth!!!!They have the same bob haircut (longer version). One older and one younger waitresses. Very unprofessional and very unwelcoming! We entered the restaurant and NO smiles to greet you at the door. The older waitress was standing at their pick-up order table and says "sit anywhere!". We wanted to sit at the booth but the table has not been cleared yet. We walked back to her to let her know and without eye contact, she said briskly "WAIT A MINUTE!!!" Then she cleared the table. Then she asked "What to drink!?" We said water please. She came back and slammed the 2 glasses of water on our table and walked away. The gentlemen preparing the food were nice. But the personnel waiting on the customers need to learn some manners and have some form of waitressing training! The food was okay. Not much variety of sushi to choose from for Happy Hour. My girlfriend and I stopped here and signed up for the waiting list and waited 40 minutes, her and I walked up after that and asked her how much longer after showing her where we are on the list. She said 15 minutes - 20 more minutes at 7:30. We sat in the car until 7:45 and walked back in, she asked me what my name was again, said "okay, okay" walked outside , sat 2 different families that got there after us, and when I walked up and confronted her, and showed the list, our names were crossed off and she just said "sorry bout that". 0/10. Very pleasantly suprised! I came 3 mins after they opened and they already had lots of sushi items on the belt. They had an array of different rolls that I hadn't seen before. The peppered tuna roll is so delicious and prob my favorite item I had. I did try my ol' stand-bys Mr. Spicy tuna roll and Mrs. Salmon, just to make sure they were legit and they were. Love this place! Went for the first time tonight(30 min before closing) and all the staff was still friendly when you know they wanna go home. Took our orders cause the belt was a little bare, with a smile on their face. And I appreciate that the belt was bare because that means a lot less food goes to waste. I definentally plan on going here again, probably going to be my go to sushi joint since I live across the river. I will add the salmon was warm and not very fresh, but it was the end of day. read more

The wait times have been really long the one time I waited for food and the second time when I attempted to order and it was going to be 45 minutes so I passed. I feel like the lack of sushi options in this area must be why this place has high reviews because the rolls just don't seem worth the price to me. My biggest issue though is the rice was over cooked/mushy in ever single thing I ordered. The rolls don't have a lot of stuff in them and the flavors are pretty bland (they all taste very similar to me). I spent almost $60 to try a bunch of different options since it was my first visit and I wanted to see what the best items were to order in the future. Unfortunately none of them stood out to me and while I wouldn't turn someone down if they wanted to treat me to sushi here I wouldn't come back here on my own. read more

We just drove up from N. California. I wanted to take my kids to a sushi boat place. They loved it. The place is clean, everyone wears masks, lots of variety and the prices you can't beat. When I am deciding how many stars I should assign to a restaurant review I am essentially trying to figure out how well they are executing against what I can perceive their "go to market" strategy. It goes without saying (at least to me :^)) that the quality of the food at an upscale dining establishment may be higher than at a deli-counter at a gas station right? I believe Sushi Hurray hits their mark at a 5 out of 5. Their price point is an indicator they seek to be high value at a reasonable price - well executed! Cleanliness - same. Fixtures, chairs etc? - remember this is a value play - it's done well. Service - perfect for this type of spot. Food - again - really well done. Reasonable enough selection - everything done well and very fresh. Great spot to take a family! Just don't expect them to compete head to head with the most expensive sushi spots in town. Sushi Hurray has it's own sandbox to compete in and they do it very well. read more
