My husband and I decided to try this place based on Westword. BIG MISTAKE!!! The service was the worst we have ever had. It took 10 minutes to be acknowledged at the front door. Then it was another 15 before they really greeted us at our table. After we turned in our first selections it took about 20 minutes for the house salad to be delivered, this is just cabbage, iceberg lettuce and a ginger sauce. NOT DIFFICULT!! The sushi was at best a 3 star sushi but hovered more around a 2. Much of it was just bland. We couldn't even say hey this one is worth it. We asked for our check and that took forever. We had to flag down a waitstaff member and basically put it in their hands to have our card run. Needless to say our tip was poor to match our experience. Save your money, go anywhere else! The sushi at Kingsoopers is better. You want good sushi, go to Sweet Ginger in Cherry Creek or Fontana Sushi off of Smokyhill and Himalaya. read more

We decided to do the "all you can eat" and the menu is limited. However, we each made selections and our food came out in rude shifts. The servers literally tossed the plates on the table. Mehh... I've been to better ones. To be honest, I don't do AYCE sushi outside of LA because I know for a fact that the value and the quality cannot be compared. (My friend persuaded me ) I judge an AYCE sushi restaurant on their rice and fish ratio and this place is -0 points. Their rice is bigger than their fish.I was very hesitant to come here being from LA and I have a higher expectation of food and it proved me right. It was AWFUL. I compared their sushi from Costco's sushi and it was better than Costco. Was it better than LA? Definitely not. You get so much more fish and less rice in LA AYCE sushi restaurant. I just think people in Colorado don't know what they're in store for so they settle with whatever they can get. However I just checked my credit card bill and saw they added another $5 to the original tip I gave them. I am livid and shocked by this poor business practice. I always tip the same each time I go, and checked a previous credit card statement to ensure I wasn't losing my mind. I normally will not go to all you can eat sushi or sushi buffets due to quality issues but this restaurant had such great reviews, I decided to try it. Customers are required to scan in so I did. However, it defaults to two persons and I did not notice it at the time. This caused another group to be selected over me because the hostess did not clarify if my party was here. I asked her about this but she took no responsibility and did not apologize. After she sat me, my server was excellent, but customers had to order off of pre-printed sheets. I ordered a salmon skin hand roll and stated "hand roll" on the paper. When it came to my table, the salmon was cold. I thought did I order something wrong? I ate it to be polite -- it was like salmon salad similar to tuna salad. Later in the parking lot, I felt nauseous but they had closed for lunch. I ended up throwing up in the bathroom at Target. I have eaten sushi for twenty years and have never had this experience. I spoke with the manager who did not take responsibility -- basically implied that I was lying. She told me to go to the ER and get a doctor's note. I am a registered nurse, and I am not about to tie up the ER with this situation. A trip to the ER to me would be the start of a lawsuit not a request for a comped meal related to customer dissatisfaction. I really don't know what I ate but it was not baked salmon skin. I come here often and even recommended to many of my friends as well. The amount of the sushi we can eat for the price is unbelievable and they also have lots of appetizer to choose from. I can't really ask much more from an AYCE sushi for less than $20 but I felt that their rice could be little better. One of the key ingredient in sushi is the rice because every sushi restaurant gets the same fish and rice is what makes it stand out. But I'll let you in on a little more info because, well, you're probably bored at work and need some reading material. First, it's straight forward. You get a list plus a couple of pages from the menu to choose from, and it's go-time from there. Second, there are all of the classics, plus some interesting special rolls. Quite frankly, the number of items you can order is very extensive. The BBQ beef roll was surprisingly delicious, as was the roll with roasted garlic on top (it's on the menu). Lastly, they have a happy hour with a buy-one-get-one on beer. A tasty companion x2 for your feast adventure. Plus everyone knows that beer boosts your eating capacity, right? Not the best sushi in the world, but very good to the point that you'll want to eat as much as you can. And guess what? That's exactly what you get to do! Lots of it! and that is exactly what we got. The wait staff are very friendly. Smiles all around and eager to please. They were so busy though, it made me think they could have used a couple more on duty that night. However, I don't know where they would have put them. This place was wall to wall people. They quickly gave us our sushi checklist and provided a menu for the specialty rolls. There was no shortage of choices here let me tell you. We ordered the Creamy Jalapeno Appetizer and the Gyoza. The dumplings were out of this world! I could have eaten two more plates of them but had to restrain myself. The Creamy Jalapeno is basically the Japanese equivalent of the jalapeno Popper. Delicious! On to the reason we came, Sushi. Everything we ordered that night was delicious. The 911 Roll and the Spicy Volcano were my personal favorites. We also tried the Rainbow Roll, the Dragon Roll, standard fare such as the Philly Roll and the California roll, and every bit of every roll was just awesome! I recommend the AYCE choice, but please be careful, you can really hurt yourself in this establishment. Your mouth will not want to stop until your stomach pushes back! I've had my fair share of "AYCE" sushi places, back in Omaha. There were a few, with only a couple being worth a fish skin. Being new to the area, and having some time on my hands, I decided today was "Treat Yo Self 2016"! I had done my research (Googled and Yelped the category) and saw that I lived a few mintutes from a sushi place that would let me bash my open mouth against a table of endless sushi. I slapped on my eating shorts, complete with an adjustable waist band, and headed out. I short drive down Havanna, and just north of Iliff, I arrived around 515pm, since they start offering the dinner menu after 430. The dinner menu has a bit more to offer and I wanted to experience this place for all it had to offer. From what I saw when I pulled in, everyone else felt the same. It was packed. People were waiting outside. I parted the sea of people and found a "Can I Help You" to take down my name. I was traveling in a large group of one, so I let them know I would be very ok with a seat by the sushi bar. 15 minutes later, I was where I wanted to be. So, at first glance, the place isn't huge, but it seems like the perfect size. It didn't feel cramped at all. It fit the rush. It was busy but not chaotic and it was easy to move about. I was seated by the sushi bar, my own lil corner of it. I had an empty spot next to me, so I figured it would be my "extra storage" area. I was given my sushi list, and saw a lot to catch my interest. It was a pretty good selection of your standard issue salads, apps, rolls and such. Some were things I'd never seen, so you know I ordered it. What really got me all hot and beefy was this lil box, on the bottom right, that had the instructions that said I could write in "regular sushi item from the menu at no additional charge". Ok...what? I took this as any roll in the entire menu was fair game. I asked the server, and sure enough, if I wanted a roll from the full menu, that wasn't on the little paper, just write it in and it will be mine...all mine. I ended up ordering 6 rolls, some baked jalapeno thing, an octopus salad, a hot dish called The Dynamite, and some choice nigiri. I had no complaints eating almost all of this. I may have left a couple bites left, but I really enjoyed what I had. Was it the best I have every had. No. They tasted good, though some had some flimsy construction. A couple fell apart in my hands. Other than that, all the components tasted fresh, the nigiri had a nice texture, and the rice was pretty good too. Some rolls weren't my favorite but I didn't not like them. They weren't bad, they just weren't working for my personal tastes. Not a complaint. Service was good, giving how hectic things were. I didn't mind the wait at all, being as I expected some sort of a wait on a Saturday night. My water stayed full, as I recieved my train of food. At one point it did get a little overwhelming because it all came at the same time or in close proximity. Lesson learned for the next visit. So, in closing, I can say I approve this place. Sure it's not the end all, be all, of the best sushi this town has to offer, but I'd have zero reservations as to put it on the top of my go to list of places to get my sushi fix. Okay, first I have to say to be fair the sushi all tasted wonderful. Quality of food is not in question. But this review is about the bad service I received. Of course the female waitperson barely spoke english, which I'm sorry, no matter what kind of restaurant, you are in America, have the waitstaff speak the language well, and let everyone else work in the kitchen, thank you. The waitress spilled water all over the table and just walked away, did not come back to clean it up. We had to get another waitress to bring a napkin, 5 minutes later. The original waitress obviously couldn't give a damn about us. This was further proven when she failed to bring out the second half of our sushi order and we had to get two other wait people to track that down and bring it to us. I would like to post her name so people can avoid her but OF COURSE the worst you-know-whats never wear nametags and OF COURSE her name wasn't on the bill either. She appeared to be the oldest one there, so watch out if you get an older waitress. That is a plain "F" for service. They were busy but when you are too busy to serve everyone stop letting people in, or hire more staff. They also REALLY need a hostess. There is none and waitstaff just yell back and forth at people waiting for a seat and point to tables. NOT OKAY. Again, the place has great sushi, but service is totally lacking. Second, expect a server to come around and re-explain the policy. It's NOT noted but hand rolls are supposedly an additional 50 cents. WOW. And that was 20 minutes after the woman came by and thoroughly explained the do's and don'ts of AYCE. With the high rating....... I'm so confused. I'm from out of town and I'm so disappointed that you mile high folks think this is acceptable. Do yourself a favor and go to a sushi bar that is not all you can eat and see the difference. The lines are always long, the "waitlist" you can't join as before they open to try and resolve the long wait times you can't even join the waitlist unless you're within proximity to the area which is so stupid. I also have seen multiple flies in the the restaurant. Also had a bad experience with being charged to take home my left overs. One of the employees told me I would just pay half off for the rolls I didn't finish and as soon as the manager got word of it they didn't let me leave after I paid. What a disappointment. While the tempura shrimp/veggies were good.... the shumai, the yakitori chicken, salad, and sushi rolls were AWFUL. The rice was soooo overcooked and pasty. The fillings were really skimpy and one of them had lettuce in it, which wasn't indicated on the menu. The chicken yakitori was pure fatty gristle and the salad was a bowl of bagged iceberg with ginger dressing.... ew. We will never return and fortunately didn't pay for most of it.
