Sushi King is hands down the best sushi on the West Side. Everything is incredibly fresh, consistently delicious, and prepared fast without sacrificing quality. The fish tastes clean and high-quality, the rolls are well balanced, and service is always efficient. If you want reliable, great-tasting sushi done right, this is the go-to spot. Highly recommended.

First time trying Sushi King today, 7/24/25. I was near UCLA SM and craving Japanese food and this was just a shot walk away from the hospital. I checked their website and saw the menu and thought, the prices were pretty good. The menu on their website had a combo with tempura and teriyaki for $25. I thought, Wow, that's not bad. I arrived at the restaurant, got seated and looked at the menu and I thought, "dang, this place is expensive! " the tempura and teriyaki combo is $35! But, the food is delicious. The beef was tender and cooked perfectly, medium rare. The tempura was crispy and good portion. It also came with miso soup, bean sprouts salad, cucumber salad and rice. The staff were friendly, professional and provided great service. The restaurant isn't big but clean. Sounds like they take reservations so if you have a large group, make a reservation. They're located on Wilshire Blvd and 14th St. price point is high but food is good and quality is high. Definitely worth a try.

Sashimi Appetizer - very generous! (We got tuna and salmon.)

To me - this place is expensive. What do I know? I live in Austin, Texas. Tonight this joint was packed! Still my order was packed and ready to go! I made rice at home before we went to grab our pick up order. Everything was delicious. Especially the sashimi appetizer! I love that I can choose which sashimi fishes I want. Very generous pieces of fish. Incredibly fresh. Melted in my mouth!

Yes! The best sushi I've had since moving to the West Side. Authentic, fresh, and delicious. Everything that we had hit the spot. From The salmon skin salad, to the chirashi bowl, monk fruit liver, king combination, seaweed salad, fresh and water eel roll. We killed it all. Sushi King also doesn't mess around with its fish to the rice ratio. Solid pieces of fish are served here. That's what I like to see (and eat)! The servers and chefs were also so warm, inviting, and friendly. Immediately we felt welcomed by the smiling and engaging staff. And the service was so quick! Spot doesn't look like much on from the outside. Unassuming and easy to miss. But don't be fooled. This hole in the wall restaurant is a 5 star spot!

A friend and colleague put me on to this place. Absolutely love it here and been coming back for the past 5 years. Environment is low key. The fish is fresh as it gets and great quality for the price. Tasty belly pieces and apps. Service is great and they're very attentive. Definitely my place to indulge cuz it's worth it. Ordered: salmon belly, bluefin tuna, scallops, yellow tail belly, yellow tail w/ scallion roll, California roll, spicy tuna roll, deep fried soft shell crab, and a large Sapporo to sooth it all down.

I came in on a Saturday night around 9:30pm. I was glad they were still open as a lot of places in Santa Monica close so early. The service was fine. No complaints there. Very to the point and robotic. The food however was not good. I didn't enjoy eating it. They had a lot of wasabi on every piece of sushi. Even the cucumber had a lot. We got various nigiri sushi off of their menu. None of it was that good. Too much wasabi and a few fish tasted a little fishy/old.

The first thing I wanna say is that the restroom was immaculate, as was the dining area. This hidden gem is nestled on Wilshire Blvd. between 16th and 17th streets. It is very well lit and sparsely decorated featuring a beautiful red, gold, and black kimono at the entrance. The meal was delicious and attractively presented. The wait staff was kind, friendly, and efficient. I absolutely endorse this restaurant. Five yummies.

Their website here on Yelp has a restaurant menu that's obviously very old and hasn't been undated in years because those prices are nearly 30-50% less than their actual current menu prices?

Phone either only keeps ringing to vmail or busy tone. Is the restaurant taking phone orders at all?

Sushi King only has one phone line which means that they can only accept one call at a time. If the phone keeps ringing or sends you to voicemail, then that would imply that someone else is taking up the line for a take out order.

Is it all you can eat?

    Nope

    Do they do takeout?

    Yes.

Does Sushi King offer a corkage fee?

No they do not permit outside drinks.

I love getting the "THE NOZAWA TRUST ME" and treat myself when visiting LA ($48 for dinner and fullest of the pre made omakase menus | $40 at lunch). If there is a fish you don't love, you can ask to substitute. But I highly recommend you try them all. The fish is so fresh, I love eating there the most because the fish is super cold, and the rolls are crispy hot on the outside and cold inside. It involves a sashimi course, seven orders of nigiri and two hand rolls. So the reason they call it the don't think, just eat is that they rush you through the whole process. Everything came out within 40 minutes. I barely had time to take photos and eat before they were back asking for my plate. And some of the sushi did not taste right. It was a little fishy and slimey. I've done omakase and sushi before and this was not the best quality. I wouldn't say we were full because it was good but because they were making you eat so quickly. I wasn't sure if they were just caring more about turning tables until I saw a couple drinking a single bottle of wine the entire time were were being rushed. So maybe it was just this specific course they don't want you to pace yourself. I heard great things so I'm just disappointed.

From the moment we sat down, everything was just perfect. The sushi was absolutely outstanding -- fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The sauces were on another level, perfectly complementing every single bite. Everything we ordered was delicious, and you can tell real care goes into every dish coming out of that kitchen. The ambiance was really lovely too -- warm, comfortable, and inviting. The kind of place where you just settle in and feel good being there. It made the whole evening that much more enjoyable for the whole family. Now here's what made this visit truly special -- there was a robot server delivering sushi right to the table! My 2-year-old was completely glued to it -- wide eyes, the biggest smile, entertained the entire meal. As any parent knows, keeping a toddler happy at a restaurant is half the battle, and Mikomi made that effortless and fun. The human staff were also incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed the whole time. If you want top-tier sushi and a dining experience that's fun for the whole family, Mikomi Sushi is an absolute must. We will definitely be back!
