Shrimp tempura and cucumber roll, kinda
    Karen D.

2 stars because the server was nice. The shrimp tempura is the frozen boxed kind, sad. And the cucumber roll was unraveled when I opened it. I see why there was only 1 couple in there on a fri night.

Just a warning y'all. Pay attention when you come here. I I'm a local UberEats driver and lately I've had tons of orders coming out of this local sushi spot. It's Sunday afternoon before the dinner rush. I stopped by to try this place out and found it to be disappointing. I was the only customer at first. As I wait to be seated I noticed the chef picking his nose and coughing while he's leaning on the sushi counter. I went ahead and ordered thinking.... Yeah he's going to wash his hands right? I see him put one plastic glove on his right hand. His left hand is bare. I watched this guy grab rice with the glove and with his bare right hand (that has not been washed) he's grabbing the proteins. I see him use his right hand to grab the sauce bottles and everything else but the bare right hand is still touching the food. I ordered the albacore delight and salmon sushi. Both proteins had freezer burns along the edges and looked dry. I'm not coming back.

If it could be ZERO stars I would. Issues from the beginning. Ordered online. Had to call restaurant to make sure they did get the order since I got an email that it was canceled. Get the food home, family is enjoying and then I go to taste the crab roll It is off. The crab is spoiled. I immediately spit it out. We call the restaurant to get either a refund on the roll or a substitute and the girl " doesn't know". She puts us on hold and never returns. Customer service sucks. The food was ok. But I will never order from here. $15 Soft Shell Crab roll that was Spoiled Rotten Off. Save your money don't eat here. You will get sick and possibly die. The serve rotten food.

I've been coming to this place for 10 years. It's my to go spot. It's a great place to order take out and dine in. I have tried many of the menu items. They all are delicious. I like their lunch deals where you can get a sushi roll with miso soup. I recently tried their salmon teriyaki, which was good as well. My favorite item is the energy roll.

    Washington Roll

Tried Sushi Kinoya for the first time today. I didn't actually dine in at the restaurant but ordered through a food delivery service. Currently they offer delivery through Uber Eats and Postmates, just keep in mind that all the sushi is about $1 more per roll when ordering for delivery. I understand that the delivery services take a cut of any orders so I get why they do it and don't fault them for it. I ordered five rolls. The sushi was well packaged in individual foam containers and included wasabi, ginger, soy sauce packets, and disposable wood chopsticks. Delivery was a good experience but once I opened the containers is when I was a little disappointed. The rolls itself didn't have great presentation and the actual fish used was super small and didn't even fully cover the top of the roll. For reference you can see some of the photos I took and you can decide for yourself if it is adequate. The redeeming factor for the food was that it didn't have an overwhelming amount of rice in the rolls and most of the food was decent. The only problem is that for $14-$16 a roll I was expecting more. I've had a comparable or even better sushi experiences when eating take-out sushi from a grocery store, which shouldn't be the case. The Washington roll I ordered was the biggest let down as the salmon just wasn't cut well. I did like the Hawaiian roll as the garlic ginger sauce was great and the tuna was good. All in all, I think sushi Kinoya has potential they just need to really take a look at their offerings and decide whether they should lower their prices to match current quality or rework there rolls to make it worth the premium.

If I can do no stars I would worst sushi I have ever had what a waste of $30 not only is it expensive but it taste disgusting I've had better sushi from stater bros !! The presentation is no good either

    A metal shaving in sushi

Extremely disappointed. This is the only sushi spot we go too. I was eating a the golden tiger roll when all of a sudden I was stabbed in the mouth by whatever metal thing this is. When my husband called they wanted him to drive all the way on the other side of town to show them. I told him forget it because one sushi expensive, two that's such a pain to drive all the way back. We always tip well and this is the first time something like this happened. Unfortunately it's painful for me to eat anything without causing even more irritation where it stabbed my mouth. So disappointing.

    Ceviche Roll

Ordered the "Ceviche Roll," through door dash. To start the roll was $20, and had 5 pieces. Description stated: A blend of fresh fish typically marinated in citrus juices combined with avocado, cucumber, and cilantro, wrapped in seaweed, and rice. When my order arrived, this roll did not have avocado, rice, or seaweed. Instead this roll was wrapped in cucumber, and had a TON of tomatoes, barely any "fish" whatsoever. I called to see if there was anything they would be able to do for me, before trying to get a refund on doordash and I was met with horrible customer service. The woman I spoke to on the phone said, "we made your order right, the description on door dash is incorrect, but that is how we make it." I told her that I understood that's how they might make it in the restaurant but that is not what they have posted on doordash. She told me there was nothing she could do for me. From here I had to then get a refund from doordash. Super disappointing. The remainder of my meal was correct, edamame, and miso but sad that they were not able to accommodate for the mishap. The rest of the meal was a 5/10. My friend ordered the spicy tuna crunch roll and was also not impressed. Tons of other really great sushi spots, but this one missed the mark. I highly do not advise ordering from door dash.

I happened to be in that area and was looking for sushi place. I found this in a little shopping mall and went in without any expectation! But wow! ordered baked mussel, calamari as appetizer and assorted sushi, rainbow roll and yellowtail delight for main sushi! It was beyond expectation! Their rolls were so fresh, little amount of rice for sushi but tasty so I can enjoy the fish! ( some place gives too much rice for sushi) the fish were very high quality, it was just melted in my mouth! Their appetizers were right on money! Very tasty baked mussels not too grease but perfect! Calamari was so good with my Asahi beer! I wish I can live closer to visit them often but I will go back whenever I go near Moreno Valley! It was hidden gem in Moreno Valley!

While the service was a bit of a rollercoaster, the quality of the fish definitely makes it worth a visit. The Food: Albacore Sashimi: This was the standout. The tangy flavor was a perfect complement to the fresh albacore. My only critique is that I wish it had a bit more of that delicious sauce! Spicy Tuna Mango Roll: A great balance of sweet and spicy--highly recommend. Crunch Dragon Roll: Another hit with excellent flavor. I'd definitely order this one again. Cajun Tuna Sashimi: This was the only letdown; it lacked the Cajun punch and felt more like standard tuna sashimi. The Service: This is where the experience dipped. We arrived at the peak of the busy hour and waited quite a while just to be greeted and seated. The kitchen seemed a bit chaotic--you could actually see the head chef and manager/owner arguing over workspace, which clearly slowed things down. Our server wasn't very attentive, and our final sashimi order took over 20 minutes to arrive. I'm giving them 4 stars because the food is high quality. The toppings bar was also really solid with a lot of options, and everything looked fresh and well stocked. I liked that you could customize your bowl however you wanted and still have everything pair well together. There have been times the staff seems high and blown out of their minds. Other times they are too busy chatting up with coworkers to acknowledge or provide even the basic decency of customer service. Then, more often than not you are treated almost as a bother. Due to the service here, I have stopped dining in and opt for calling a phone order to take out. On three separate occasions now, within the last 3 months, they have neglected the phones for orders. They would rather disconnect or turn off the phone completely to avoid any future orders. This comes as a surprise when in about 10 minutes of my first attempted call, I see a staff of four people, yet only one customer. I believe there was no excuse as to why they could not answer the phone. I confirmed they accept take out orders essentially until closing. I have always been mindful to not attempt to order within 30 minutes of them closing. The service here is appalling and truly diminishes their potential for how great the spot could be considering the food they have. Food on the other hand is a total opposite of the service, very flavorful and strong punch of spice at a level 3. My go to is the Wonton ramen with a miso base. Crispy rice is a great starter to share. The garlic ramen is also a great contender if you have a garlic craving. Open layout feels like a mom and pop shop. Overall pretty clean establishment. Occasional tweaker going in for the bathroom closer to the end of the night.

My girlfriend and I come here fairly often because it's a convenient place to eat after work, and we've generally enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our last three visits have been disappointing due to missing items we paid for and poor customer service. Today, my girlfriend, her little sister, and I ordered three ramen bowls. My girlfriend is vegetarian and cannot eat meat because it makes her sick. She ordered the vegan ramen with extra noodles and requested that the toppings be served on the side, as I usually eat them. The second bowl was a Shio ramen with grilled chicken, and my bowl came out correctly. While waiting for our food, I watched the cook remove the chicken from the Shio ramen and place it into a separate bowl while wearing gloves. When our order was called, my girlfriend's vegan ramen still had the toppings on it despite our request to have them on the side. We politely pointed this out to the employee at the pickup counter and asked if it could be corrected. The employee responded with noticeable attitude, which was frustrating considering we were simply asking for the order to be prepared as requested. The bowl was handed back to the cook, who then removed the toppings by hand while still wearing the same gloves that had been used to handle the chicken. This raised concerns for us about cross-contact, especially given that my girlfriend avoids meat and can become sick from it. Because of that, my girlfriend only took a couple of bites before deciding not to finish her meal. Shortly afterward, she began feeling unwell. While I cannot say for certain what caused it, the situation was concerning and left us disappointed. We have enjoyed eating here in the past, which makes this review difficult to write. However, after multiple visits involving missing items, incorrect orders, poor customer service, and now concerns about food handling, I felt it was important to share our experience.
