I walked in here in the evening around 6pm. The restaurant has very nice decor and we were greeted and seated immediately. The sushi was really fresh and filling. They have great specials and good flavors. A little more explanation on the ingredients would be nice but nonetheless I had a great meal here! Driving by while running errands and was craving sushi. Let's be real, when am I not crazing sushi! Grabbed a spot at the sushi bar and ordered a few things to satiate me. Togi was the sweet sushi chef and even though the place wasn't packed, he had plenty to do and did a really good job! I was impressed that they gave you a little platter with all the sauces, including spicy mayo, my personal favorite. The service was very quick, and the food was quite good. The Koo roll was very refreshing though... if they named the roll after the restaurant thinking it would be their flagship roll... they are not mistaken. Great place for sushi and anything to do with sashimi but I think the portion is too small and the price is not. If you go for the taste, just go! But if consider the price too, probably you'll need twice the budget. I ordered a few separate plates and the chef combined everything into the large plate (called family plate or something). What's inside is not the original family plate. I usually spend $25 for a full meal in LA but, here, it's actually like $50 for me alone to get full. The sashimi pieces are pretty small. The poke bowl was also small. The roll, also, very small. They have macaron ice cream in a mango flavor but I think it tastes 100% more like melon. Yuzu drink was good! Free parking! No validation! Very disappointing experience. Went a few weeks ago. Half the items on the menu were unavailable. Fish was not fresh and imitation crab was literally the only thing on the menu. The chef was friendly as were the staff, but I'm not sure how this place is surviving with the prices they have given the limited quality and quantity of the menu. read more

I recognize there were different menus provided for different people which I found to be a little odd. I've ordered food from here several times but this was my first time dining in. When I asked for the menu with more options I was told that the establishment only had one copy. She then went to take it from a couple that had just been seated and that didn't feel right so I told her it was okay and I could wait. I was hoping to see drink options and to order the oysters I had last time but couldn't recall the name. It wasn't on the menu I was first provided. We have been loyal customers for several years. However, we had a negative experience last night. We ordered for pickup and the food was not ready when they said it would be. They have a variety of different sushi's, sushi burritos, and other appetizers available. What more could you want? I've been coming here for years and the quality hasn't gone down for me which is why it's so easy for me to return every time. The service is usually quick and easy which I appreciate. The only complaint I have is that the waitress is very stingy with sauces. Especially when it comes to take out orders like WHY?! I also docked a point this time because they have increased the prices here more than once so coming now is bit pricier than it use to be. Other than that I will continue to support this establishment. They have also changed their plates which is cool and makes the presentation a little better/ more modern. Sushi Koo is a good place to order takeout from. My first suggestion is to order in advance if possible. It seems like they can be understaffed there for when I got there it wasn't that busy and it still took a half an hour to get my food. Then again I ordered at the door/table.
