Yay to all the sake bars in LA- especially those smaller, no frills, neighborly kind! Tucked away in a shopping plaza, the unassuming sake bar was perfect for a casual dine-in evening. I loved their sake handwritten menu to be able to try different glass or carafe of a small but well picked list (apparently rotated out every so often). We tried the Born which was their special sake of the month which was sweet and floral but clean, dry finish to pair with the sushi that they had. Then we tried the sake they recommended that had a lingering pleasant sweetness. The spicy scallop hand roll is a must- the warm rice contrasted with the cold, fresh scallop even won a second round from us. We sat at the bar seating where the sushi chef was efficient and the service very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a try for sake fans!

Amazing service, amazing food, and amazing atmosphere! Recently opened restaurant in a very convenient location. The sushi and Korean combination on their menu line up was so comforting because you can get cold if you eat a lot of sushi. But a jijimi or bibimpap will definitely warm you up. There is only one server but she takes care of you very well. Not to mention their price for this quality is almost too affordable. You will not regret!

Came across Momo on Yelp and was excited to check out the new neighborhood sushi spot! It's located in a small shopping center at the cross section of Beverly and Crescent Heights so parking out front is limited. You are welcomed by the staff as soon as you step foot in the door. Since I was by myself I opted for the sushi bar. They have a minimalist design and it is very clean. The service was great! Everyone is really kind and will answer any questions you have about the menu. They will check on you periodically. I ordered the sushi set and edamame. Yum! The fish quality was so good. I ended up adding an additional piece of salmon and tuna sushi. Also definitely try the house sake of the day. The "glass" is more like 12 oz ! I will for sure be back again and again!

Top-tier seafood and pristine sashimi. Pairing their signature rolls with a crisp beer makes for an unbeatable casual meal.

A phenomenal meal! I first heard about momo sake bar on Instagram because the Chef previously worked at Nobu Malibu. My friend and I decided to try it out and boy were we impressed! The food - both cooked and raw - was delicious, and the service was top notch. My personal favorites were the kubota pork gyoza, cucumber sunomono, and today's nigiri set. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this restaurant to others.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

Our food orders came out a little sporadically so a few were done before the last ones even received their dinners. It was definitely not what I've expected or ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant. We were quickly greeted by the staff and be seated by the wall. The upholstery of our seats were torn. The area where we were sitting was a bit too dark and could definitely add more lights for customers to see their menus. After giving a look at the menu, our server asked if we were ready. I said it's our first time so we need some time to look through the menu. She replied ok and left. We mainly ordered sushi items. Servers brought over each item one at a time. When I almost finished mine, my family is still waiting for theirs. You do see the staff walk by the tables constantly. However, I would hope the servers would ask how is everything and if we need anything else. Overall, sushi tastes fine. I probably won't be back given the experience that we had.

The space is intimate and classic--there are only about 20 seats at the main sushi bar and a couple of small tables tucked on the side, so seating is extremely limited. That said, the wait is completely worth it. I was super impressed with the quality of the fish. We ordered a wide variety of sushi, and every single piece was exceptionally fresh, beautifully cut, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The chefs clearly take pride in their craft, keeping things traditional and letting the natural flavor of the fish shine without overloading anything with heavy sauces. I've tried a lot of sushi spots across Southern California, and Hama easily stands out as one of the absolute best.
