Bento special with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna roll, and crunch roll
    Stephen C.

I ordered the 4th item on the chef's special today, which included udon noodles, salad, spicy tuna over rice, and 4 pieces of sushi. Everything was very fresh and presented nicely. Still coming here often because I live a block away. The great quality and service are always consistent. The atmosphere is always very welcoming and down to earth. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Sushi Eyaki is one of those spots that quietly stands out once you give it a try. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming and relaxed. It is not overly flashy, just a clean and comfortable space that lets the food take center stage. The quality of the fish is what really impressed me. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and thoughtfully presented. The sushi had a great balance of flavor and texture, and you can tell care goes into each roll rather than just rushing orders out. The rice was seasoned just right, not too sweet or overpowering, which is something a lot of places get wrong. Service was another highlight. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, and they were happy to answer questions or give recommendations. It made the whole experience feel more personal. Portion sizes were fair for the price, especially considering the quality. It is not the cheapest sushi in LA, but it definitely feels worth it for what you are getting. Overall, Sushi Eyaki is a solid choice whether you are just craving good sushi or looking for a reliable go to spot. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who appreciates fresh, well made Japanese food.

Over it was satisfactory. Be to box was good but nothing to write home about. The rainbow sushi was good but really thick which made it hard to eat. The gyoza was very good. Service was polite and attentive. .

Five-Star Experience at Sushi Eyaki! I've visited Sushi Eyaki 5-6times now, and every time, the experiences were absolutely fantastic! During my first visit, I tried the Dynamite Roll and the Bruce Roll--both were delicious, but the Dynamite Roll, which is baked, truly stood out with its rich flavor and perfect texture. I went back again after a few days and couldn't resist ordering the Dynamite Roll a second time--it was just as amazing! I also tried the Double Yellowtail Roll, which was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. All the ingredients were clearly top quality, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. When i visited next, a waitress suggested me to try the baked salmon Rolls. That was the best of all and it became my first pick! What made all visits even better was the welcoming atmosphere. The chef and staff were very friendly, and Mr. Tony, the owner, is such a warm and jolly person--his hospitality really added to the overall experience. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for fresh sushi (specially baked), great service, and a cozy, friendly vibe!

Overpriced bento lunch special. The portion is more suitable for a toddler, yet it costs $14.99 plus tax. We waited almost 40 minutes for the food. Won't be back.

All I have to say is bomb quality food plus amazing service. To start off I got the lunch Tokyo special which is a crazy deal. Salad, udon, sushi, tempura for less than 20?! Not only was so worth it but quality was great. Forgot to take a picture of the other food because I was too excited that I finally found a great sushi spot in this area that I devoured it. Then we got rolls, sashimi, yellow tail collar and everything was 15/10 and the waitress being so kind was a plus.

Came here for dinner for the first time. I wish I knew about this place sooner because I live in the area but wow... everything literally was so delicious. We got the sashimi, a Sunkist roll, jalapeño peppers and a miso soup and everything was top-tier quality, great tasting great, great price and on top of that the server and the service was incredible. Shout out to this place because I'll be coming here regularly and especially for the happy hour can't wait to go back!!!!

Great service and food! Picture below is the bento lunch special which also includes miso soup as a starter. The happy hour menu from 4-8pm (!!!) can't be beat! Sushi tastes fresh.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

Long story short, our dining experience felt rushed. We waited about 45 min- an hour for a table. Once we were seated, we were pushed to order right away. I had come here before but it was my husband's first time dining. He needed more time to decide and look over the menu. Well he didn't get much of a chance to look at what he wanted to eat because the server was standing there waiting. Literally staring. What would you like to order? I explained to her that it was his first time here and he needed time to look over the menu and asked her if she can come back later. She proceeded to say it will take longer to get our orders in and delay the kitchen staff. That didn't end there. Right after our food was served, one of the servers came by to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. We said no. Shortly after, the server dropped the bill at our desk. Mind you, we were not even close to finishing our meal. I understand there are other customers waiting for a table but you shouldn't be rushing the customers currently eating. They clearly prioritize turning tables faster to make profit. It was not a pleasant or enjoyable dining experience. I would choose another sushi spot.

It has been in business since 1972 and I'm assuming it's mostly tourists eating here. I can't imagine a local like us going back again to eat here. It's a very old restaurant. Food is underwhelming and expensive. The food is so basic. All their specialty rolls have the crab base and that for me is a big no no. Cause trust me every roll you eat tastes the same. The plain rolls such as spicy tuna and salmon were the only ones I ate. The boys finished the rest of the items I ordered. The spicy edamame was good lol can't lie ..... overall the food is not worth the price you will pay. My honest opinion. I find that a lot of the criticism levied against Tokyo Haus expects a restaurant that caters to all types of customers. I find that restaurants are like works of art in that art that tries to appeal to everyone won't appeal to anyone. I think Tokyo Haus's excellence will always be found in the AYCE option. That's what makes it a great restaurant. Becoming a regular here has been a delight, especially after finding our favorite items and sections of the menu. The service was unremarkable at first, but with some geniality and consideration, the servers will open up to you and take care of you. Over the past year or so, we've come to appreciate Alex, who always makes sure our meals are delicious. The restaurant itself is temperate and not too loud with plenty of space between tables/booths. The music playing is not too loud and allows for conversation to flow. They upgraded their ordering system to a tablet-based system a while ago, which has greatly streamlined the ordering process. If you're looking for recommendations on what to order, I highly recommend trying one of the AYCE options and ordering the lemon pepper salmon nigiri (I order at least 50 pieces of it every time!). The eel, salmon, and tuna nigiri are also great choices. The cucumber salad is a new favorite side we found, alongside the brussel sprouts, edamame, and green beans.
