Firstly, I cannot say enough how much I enjoy this restaurant. It's one of my favorite sushi places to eat at and order from! The ambiance is good and Typically the service is good. However, this visit, we were sat in a section with a server who I won't name and even though we were clearly in her area, walked around us, didn't greet us, and clearly ignored us from the start. As a seasoned server myself, it's one thing to have a table in the middle of two sections and maybe not realize the table was yours, but it was very clearly in her area and she was ignoring us. It was about 10-15 minutes we sat and waited until my friend went to the host stand to ask for help. To our gratefulness, the manager came by and helped serve us. It wasn't until after that the server greeted us, giving us dirty looks and being very curt-- but they switched us to another server, Naomi. She was very sweet, kind, and funny!!! She helped turn our visit around (even though we felt very uncomfortable with the other server giving us looks the whole time) Honestly, if it wasn't for being switched to Naomi we were just going to pay for our tab and walk out then. I still love this restaurant, it was just a real bummer having to deal with that on a special night. read more

I'm sorry but the food that i got off the all u can eat i tried a bunch of different sushi's all tasted terrible do not waste time or money made me and my girlfriend sick rather eat ramen noodles. Walking into this place is pretty great- it's beautifully decorated and interesting. The menus are very nice, albeit a little big and cumbersome to hold at a table, and a quick overview of the menu will leave a good impression of the food here. It has a Very good spread of items, and descriptions of each item can be found in the A La Carte sections for that item. It's built very well. There's no "but" to this. I was genuinely impressed with the restaurant on technical qualities and I would have given this review 5 stars if the service was not such a one-time bombshell. Our server, who never introduced himself, (I found his name to be Kazuo on the receipt and I can only assume it's accurate) was extremely aggressive and hostile to me specifically during our visit. We were beefing for the entirety of our visit, and I have no idea why. Genuinely, he started it with such a rancid vibe. So, our server comes in and we can tell immediately that he's frustrated. Judging by his demeanor, I would assume he holds a role in the kitchen that's a little more than just a server, or he just handles his job poorly. He's pretty obviously not interested in serving us from the onset of him arriving at our table, but I tell him that it's our first time here and he all but rolled his eyes at us before giving us his stump spiel about telling us how it works- He did not explain anything, he just said he Would explain it to us and didn't. He didn't know what my drink was when I called it by name, and I like it without ice. I said it twice- "No ice, please" during my explanation, and his way of rolling his eyes at me, again, was an immediate indication that he was Not going to remember or care about it. In the 4-5 refills that he gave me over the course of our meal, I reminded him Every Time that I don't want ice in the next refill. Did he remember? Did he bother? Not once. You know what, I'm writing this and I had already decided that I was going to give this review 3 stars, I'm taking another one off just because he pissed me off so much with this one, not gonna lie. The drink was only the beginning of the beefing, don't worry; he gets worse. When he took our orders, he was specifically trying to shut Me down from ordering at any given time. He was trying with all of his might to be sassy to me. He: - Asked Me, with eye contact, if I wanted to order more, I respond "Yes" and pull out my menu, only to see that he had walked away to serve another table as a direct response to me saying so. Cunty but I respect it ngl. - Would stop me after I ordered a single item, be it an app or otherwise, and move on to other members at my table, prompting them to start their order as if I had finished. (He did this multiple times, one of which he tried to walk away without letting me finish my round of ordering and I had to yell back to him "I'm not finished!" so he would come back. Thankfully, he rolled his shoulder back and actually returned.) - He would say yes to requests without even knowing if it was a thing they could do? Like, I asked for forks/knives at some point because one of our dishes was difficult to eat with chopsticks, and he said "Ok". Half an hour later, I ask about it again and he says "oh we don't actually have knives :////" and I'm like... "Okay that was the thing I wanted, because we need to cut this stupid slab of fish you've given us." And again, he rolls his eyes and returns with forks/knives that obviously belong to the steakhouse that used to be here. Thing is, when he gave it to us, he almost threw the knives at me, essentially plunging them into the table in front of me, in a motion that I could only guess was compensating for his imagining stabbing me with these ridiculously blunt implements. It was childish, to say the least lol. - He got upset at me because I asked him to tell us which sushi roll was which when they brought out our entire table's order on a single plate. He doesn't even know his own menu!!!! Thing is? He got it W R O N G !!!! I literally ended up eating my BIL's roll because he told us that's what we ordered. Imagine if one of us had an allergy. I only realized because I was reading the menu again for our second round of orders, and realized that the I had ordered was actually put in wrong as a different roll, and the closest one to the one I wanted was my BIL's. His behavior was embarrassing, to say the very least, but we were in better company than his sour attitude. == Food: The food here is very good. I only have a few notes: - Many of our table's individual dishes were presented on the same plate, and we were not told whose was whose correctly. - We waited SOOOO long for our food tonight. It was probably abnormal, but it was bad. - Get my drink right. - Dragon Roll vs. Red Dragon Roll. I was given the wrong roll, PLEASE be aware and clarify if someone orders one of these. read more

My wife and I went to Sushi Masa today for lunch at about 2:15. Let me start by saying we have been before and enjoyed our meal. We have also ordered take-out and it was stellar. Today, however, was an unmitigated disaster. We went in and the restaurant was about half full. After being greeted I pointed at the sushi bar and asked if we could sit over there. The hostess said "absolutely," so we walked over there. As we went to sit down, and gentleman came over and apologized and said "we aren't seating the sushi bar." So we went back to the hostess and asked for a table, and specified a booth. After a few minutes of looking at the tablet, we were taken to a table, not a booth, that already had people seated at it. We followed the young lady back to the hostess station. The woman with the tablet argued with the young woman about whether or not the table was empty. Finally, the young woman was given another table number and off we went for the 3rd time. It was a table and not a booth, so when we arrived we again asked for a booth. The young woman said " I have to go ask..." She left and a man, who seemed to be in charge apologized and said he would help. In the meantime the young lady returned and took us to our 4th destination. A little aggravated at this point, but anticipating some great food. Then we sat... and sat... and sat... 20 minutes later we had not seen a single person. No water... no order... no human contact. We got up and left. I did stop by the hostess station to tell them we were leaving because we hadn't been helped or even seen a person. No apology, just blank faces. Really disappointed in the level of service we received. They have been there long enough now to at least have the basics down. Sushi Masa... do better! read more

My fiancé and I love this restaurant so much. Today is our 6 year anniversary so we came for dinner and we got Byrd and he is so friendly and set a very uplifting vibe to our dinner. The service was very fast and efficient. Couldn't have asked for for a better experience. read more
