This was my first time here at sushi masa. I had heard that it was good from my friends and it lived up to the hype! Our server was pretty nice and checked on us regularly. I wish they checked a little bit more tbh. Also - they didn't fill the waters of a few of our group. The sushi was really good. I'd rate it 8/10. No complaints from me! I liked the spicy tuna roll and the gyoza was amazing. The lava roll was just ok, i would get something else next time. The restaurant was pretty nice inside. The decor was pretty cool & the overall experience was nice. Overall - I'll definitely go back here! read more

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. Though, I should've known from the moment I walked through the door so really this is my fault. Upon entering, I was hit with a smell that no one should ever smell when they enter a dining establishment. I can't even describe it, but it was nasty and it floated through the first 1/4 of the restaurant consistently. What I did like about this place, is they include a drink with your AYCE. That's not something I've experienced with other sushi restaurants. It's especially nice that one of those drinks can be a beer or house wine. That's unfortunately the only pro. The menu was lacking a lot of what we love about other AYCE restaurants in the area. No chicken crunch roll, hibachi, or crab rangoons. The clear soup tasted like dirty dish water. My brother was so disgusted he took one spoonful and pushed it away. So disappointing because clear soup is usually our favorite. The steak teriyaki was an extremely small portion & very rubbery/tough. Everything else just tasted the same. There was no real difference in flavors or textures. It was all just bland and boring. At the end, I ordered red bean ice cream and it was sour. So sour. That's when I pushed it away and really began to fear for the well being of my stomach. Our waiter was great.. until he wasn't. He checked on us multiple times and always made sure to ask if we wanted to order anything else. There were multiple times that food we ordered was taken to different tables because he put the number in wrong. A few times I ordered something and didn't receive it for quite a while because he forgot to put it in. It took 30+ minutes for him to bring our check, then he said "oh were you waiting on this?" He brought my check first & I gave him a card for it. Then he brought my brothers separately and he gave him his card. When we got our checks back, he had switched our cards so my brother paid for two people's meals that were double the price of his. Then we were left with no pen to sign. We had to wait another 15+ minutes for him to come back so we could sign the receipt and tip. Accidents happen, I totally understand but there was never an apology or even a "oh my bad". It was made even worse by the fact that our experience was so bad, we were dying to leave and ended up having to stay an extra 45 minutes just to pay for the food that wasn't worth half of what it cost. We had planned on going to grab a drink after, but felt the need to head straight home to the comfort of our own bathrooms. I sadly fear that I may be getting well acquainted with the toilet when I'm heaving over it later tonight. We chose to try a new sushi place tonight based on how good the reviews were. This is the first time fellow Yelpers have truly led me astray. I would like to formally apologize to my favorites Chi Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Haya. I should've never left you to try somewhere new. The best I can do is warn other sushi seekers to stay far away from this place. read more

We frequently go to Sushi Masa for dinner. Tommy was our waiter the last two times and we absolutely love him. He's funny and helpful in suggesting different things to try. We love his service. My son got the kid hibachi, which was the perfect size since he wasn't that hungry. read more

Honestly this is about the food quality. If you want a more in-depth review about all the other amenities look elsewhere. We ordered the spicy tuna & spicy yellowtail. The food was barely seasoned. Even the wasabi wasn't doing it. Like wtf. Wasn't terrible but not great either. read more

Our family of five went here for the first time. Four of us had the all you can eat lunch and my youngest had an entree since he doesn't like sushi. It was so much fun to order all sorts of different foods. I loved the portion sizes for the orders. Everything I tried was delicious and because of how it worked, I got to try so many things that I never had before! I had sweet potato sushi! Our waitress was great and patient as we figured out how the ayce worked. The food came pretty quickly. The restaurant was cozy and clean. read more

I am from the area and I've had just about every sushi restaurant you can think of here in Houston. This place is in the Woodlands and although it is not very scenic, the food is to die for every roll is bursting with flavor color and will leave you wanting more also you are offered one free alcoholic beverage with your meal, which is great for someone who just wants a little buzz with their food. The atmosphere is great. There's TVs all around. All of the servers are very sweet and the sushi chefs are very experienced. I would eat here every single day of my life if I could, the lunch is about $20 for the all you can eat and the dinner with a few more options is $30. Great price to get as much sushi as you would like. Great price to have a couple drinks. Great place have a good time. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. read more

Alex was our server today, and even though they were very busy he brought everything out in a timely manner. He was very friendly and provided great service ! This location is decorated beautifully! If you love sushi don't walk but run to this place! The customers service was fantastic from the host to the waitress. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of all the sushi (and they have a lot) I'm still new to the sushi game so I always have questions. The kids plate was so huge we took some home. The sushi was wrapped perfectly and the plating was so pretty we didn't want to eat it, but I'm glad we did!! Everything was delicious and fresh! Even the flowers look like they were just picked! The restaurant is huge and has a bar. They have all you can eat options and there are certain sushi's you can order on there and they bring to your table. We are not that diverse so we just picked some items on the menu! This has become our new go to sushi place! read more

All you can eat?! Oh yes, it's true and it's real. For $35 during dinner this restaurant serves all you can eat (and it's not just sushi!). You are able to choose items from up to 2 pages of the menu. This includes speciality sushi, soups, teriyaki meats, katsu, desserts, and even one alcoholic beverage!!! Yes, I repeat, your first alcoholic beverage can be included in this price! The service was also great and food came out pretty quickly. Be mindful when ordering, they do charge extra for meals not eaten. Some meals were better than others - mostly average tasting. My favorite food item ended up being the tempura cheesecake. The location is large and surprisingly very aesthetically pleasing with cherry blossom trees and classic decor. Ultimately a great bang for your buck! Will be back with an empty stomach! read more

This place is much larger than it looks outside. It has some nice decor and lots of space for big parties. We decided to get the AYCE option. We had a waiter in training and that was explained to us when he took our order. I know our server was in training, but he constantly would forget to give us one pair of chopsticks or only one soy sauce dish. We had to keep asking to get a 2nd set which was pretty annoying since the food arrived and one of us couldn't eat. I like how they have a lot of things on the menu including soups,salads, tempura that are part of the AYCE too. Food came out pretty fast. You have to order the nigiri and tell them how many pieces you want. The fish was average quality but not bad, although on the small side.The fried rolls were a bit hit and miss. We only got 2 in the end (the shrimp tempura one was better), but they make you full pretty fast so if you want to get your money's worth, I would stick to simpler items. The seaweed salad was nice as was the miso soup. The avacado salad was pretty pitiful as it was a few small pieces of avocado on top of a bed of greens. Skip it! Overall for $20 AYCE sushi, I can't really complain. But I think I'd rather go to another sushi restaurant and just get a better quality roll for the same price. Worth it if you want to try a variety of rolls and are super hungry. read more

All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Sushi and Japanese Cuisine! AYCE comes with everything on the menu plus one free drink- can be alcoholic too. I went here with my family, and there was so much to choose from. It's not a buffet, but you order off the menu and servers come and go to bring your food out, as you request. Appetizers and food come in small plates, and sushi comes in full rolls- perfect for sharing. It could be a bit overwhelming but a good concept if you're with a group or family so you can try a bit of everything and you'll have to refer to the menu a lot...but just pace yourself because you will be so stuffed! Some standout appetizers and rolls that we liked: Appetizers/Sides: -Spicy Kani Salad -Shrimp Tempura -Calamari -Cucumber Salad -Green Mussels -Shrimp Fried Rice (Hibachi style) Sushi Rolls: -225 Roll -Little Tokyo Roll -Bubba Gump Roll -LSU Roll -TNT Roll For dessert, the fried Oreos were good, they fry them in tempura batter. I didn't care too much for the I-10 Roll- not my thing, Shrimp Skewers- nothing special, Beef Teriyaki- not good at all, Salmon Skin Handroll- too salty, not crispy. The restaurant is spacious and pretty clean. Service was friendly, but very slow and was a bit disorganized. Our server seemed really busy, flustered, and he didn't frequent our table as much as we hoped, plus he would forget a lot of things. There was a large party in our section, it seemed to have contributed to the delays. I would probably be back with my family again, maybe when less busy. The price is a good value for AYCE and all that you get! read more

We ordered to go and we were STUNNED. Usually my family and I never feel completely full form eating sushi but this time 'round was different! The quality was 10/10 and the price was reasonable for its spectacularity. Although we didn't dine-in, the restaurant itself was pretty sweet and decorative and authentic! I cannot wait to go back to have a full-blown experience with their sashimi. Unfortunately, I completely forgot the names of the rolls we order, except for the lobster roll. I tried Sushi Masa for the first time last weekend and it was delicious!! We were tempted by the all you can eat sushi, but weren't too hungry so we ended up ordered the rolls a la carte. We shared a salmon avocado roll, tuna avocado roll, the dragon roll, and the double crunch roll. They were all delicious, and I would definitely order again. The service was very good and fast! We didn't have a reservation and were seated immediately. The waitress was very attentive and our food arrived pretty quickly. The restaurant itself is very beautifully decorated and really large. I went with a friend, but I'll definitely be back with a larger group to try the all you can eat sushi. read more

AYCE SUSHI. For dinner, its 28.95 per person. Pretty affordable for the amount sushi we ate. I came here with a group of 7 at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night. There were people in the room but not insanely busy for a Tuesday. The waitress was sweet and friendly. We ordered a ton of stuff (not pictured). But I enjoyed the Spicy Kani Salad. So many rolls were delicious. The shrimp tempura and veggies were fresh and yummy. The Sashimi was pretty fresh as to order. I loved the fried Oreo and fried cheesecake (leave room for desserts). I even combined the Oreo and pieces of the fried cheesecake together, it was another delicious dessert. You can order food with being a part of the AYCE, but honestly it's a great deal. The fishes were fresh. Which was surprising because going to any buffet with sushi, it's a hit or miss. You order directly off the menu and they bring the dishes to you. read more

Been going here since they opened. Good is always great but could do better in terms of picking up empty dishes. They seem to keep bringing the food but won't take the empty plates unless you specifically ask a waitress. Qe have also tried asking for refills or extra Wasabi from the people who bring the food but they never seem to bring anything. Seems like it all falls on the waitress. read more

The customer service in this place is crap! Let start with how they miss represent the the menu prices for the all you can eat sushi. They have the lunch special advertised as ending at 3:00pm but if its 2:30 you have to pay dinner price. Ally who was the hostess was rude! Very disrespectful, and awful person to encounter at the restaurant. Thankfully, the manager William stepped in to assist. He was very kind and generously offered to accommodate us. I would not advised going here if Ally is at work. She needs to find something that's not so people friendly. Otherwise the experience wasn't bad. read more

one of my favorite places to get all you can eat sushi in spring. dinner is around $30 per person & lunch is around $21 per person - so super duper worth it especially if you are hungry! this is my third time here and first time coming for lunch - some of my favorite orders for dinner isn't on the lunch menu :( but I guess that is why the price is a bit cheaper. This time I got 18 pieces of salmon nigiri & avocado salad & seaweed salad! so good :) I always get seated right away & the waiter/waitress are always attentive asking if we want to order more. However, I always come during the week as oppose to the weekends - I can see it being busy! read more

A solid three star offering from this place in spring the sushi exquisite. This is Jimmy awesome sushi rice very very well mastered by the sushi shop. We did have some of the hot plates. Very very good. They also had a play on some very fun place like the ice cream and a few other offerings I was wall impressed. I would like to go back in Sample more things off the menu. Solid sushi spot for spring ! Our server was quite kind and he was on point he did offer to make some suggestions and that's hard as you could tell by the pictures we ended up with 70 offerings. Also they were very quick for cleanup. It was very clean the establishment. I was very much impressed by the overall size of it and how they crank out that delicious sushi. If you're looking for all you can eat I'm telling you do not sleep on this place. Definitely give it a try. read more

Masa Sushi is easily the second-best AYCE sushi spot I've been to--and I've been to a lot across the country! For only $21 at lunch before tip, it's a steal for the quality you get. The service was awesome--my waitress was super attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. The food was fresh and delicious. I really liked the cucumber slices under the seaweed salad, such a nice touch. The edamame was cooked just right, and the ice cream was the perfect way to wrap up the meal. The sushi was great, though I think the fish slices could've been a little colder. Even so, everything tasted amazing. I placed a pick up order through DoorDash. I ordered two different sushi plates and their most popular fried rice. The pictures that are provided online are not accurate, so it was confusing reading the dish and seeing a completely different dish assigned with it. One of my sushi plates was correct and the other was not. I do recommend the fried rice, I ordered the combo, and it was delicious. My order was set for pickup at 8. I did arrive to the restaurant about 10 min early, however I did not receive my to-go until about 10-15min after 8. read more

Despite the good review (thats why were here)and i have not tried this place i would like to give a poor review due to a RUDE receptionist, the sign was on that they are open so I went in and ask for table of 4. This receptionist with tone we are not open in another 15 min. Not even apologetic tone. So I said I won't come in but your open sign is on. Eh. It's ok. I did the AYCE. Menu is a bit uninspired and the spicy tuna is a ground red paste. Nothing is overly fishy, but nothing is delicious and fresh. Tuna tataki is the smallest serving I've ever seen. Ginger is sad looking. Very mediocre experience. But for $20, not bad. read more

The menu indicates they have 2 locations in Houston as of Sept 2023. I don't typically eat at buffet or ayce places, but I was with a group of 7, so I didn't have much choice. The space is relatively easy to find at the back of the shopping center, facing away from traffic on Sawdust. There is free parking of course. Inside is pretty nice and looks like a large sushi or hibachi restaurant. I never visited the previous Asian restaurant that was in this spot. Their ayce is at the front of the menu, but you can opt out of it, if you don't want to eat a lot. The ayce consists of salads, apps, sushi/sashimi, basic rolls, specialty rolls, and kitchen dishes. 4 desserts are also on the menu. Including tempura cheesecake, ice cream, banana tempura and fried oreo. A soft drink or your first beer is included in the ayce price, which is a little different than other ayce or buffet places. I chose a beer of course. When I finished that, they never asked me if I wanted another. First sign that the service is questionable. Yellowtail jalapeno - only 2 pieces that are very very small...but its decent. I had to order 2 of these. Salmon tartar - mushy, chopped spicy salmon...not very impressed Naruto roll w/ yellowtail- this was a little weird with it being wrapped in cucumber, and small. Not sure why only 5 pieces, probably because nobody would want to eat more than that. Bon Temps roll - the only roll with red snapper, albeit fried. This one was pretty good and tasty. Seemed to be very salty tho Nemo roll - this is a good bet at most restaurants and it's decent here too Little tiger roll - it's a little weird, not sure I like the fresh lemon slices on top, gives it an unusual flavor for sushi Yummy roll - a little on the dry side since there is a lot of rice Banana tempura - this was decent and seemed to be your standard banana tempura dessert, I've had better. Overall, based on the quality, service, and price, I really cant give it much higher than 3 stars. There was nothing that was impressive about the experience. read more

What a great deal with the all you can eat sushi. The interior is big and airy but with tables closely paired, conversations were often too loud and intrusive. Our waitress sat us in a corner table and seemed to forget us for a while. Our orders came out sporadically, but what came was delicious with the single exception of the noodles and beef which were surprisingly mealy. The sushi was great. The TNT roll was my favorite. read more

Fantastic sushi restaurant. Everything was great. We were seated quickly, the food is wonderful, the waiter was amazing. We loved the all you can eat deal, with tons of variety. There are even 6-7 options of rolls for vegetarians. The pricing is also very affordable. I highly recommend. read more

Had lunch with friends. We all had All you can eat lunch. Everything was so good. The service was excellent and our server Kaley was just the best! All other staff was great as well! So reasonably priced as the lunch is $20.95 but includes the drinks and dessert! read more

so everything was good, but I ordered a sushi roll and it didn't come for like 15 minutes and the person I was with ordered a sushi roll and it came before mine did so I asked the server if it was coming and he gave me a dirty look with a rude tone and said "yeah it's coming". And it turned out that he had never put it in. He was so rude for no reason. it was a gen z boy, not a man. read more

I have to be honest, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this place as much as I did being from Cali but I was wrong. Their rolls were full of flavor and I love that they weren't packed full of rice. You get quite a large selection for their lunch special and the price was so worth it! read more

Dined in the other day with my husband and baby girls, and all I can say is I am more than satisfied! My family loves sushi but it's so hard to find good AYCE in Texas. We are from Las Vegas, so most cases have been disappointing us in the Spring/Houston area-- but now that we've found this gem we aren't going anywhere else. I don't typically leave reviews, even when I'm very satisfied with an experience, but our server was just amazing. It was very busy on a Saturday night and I could see he had his hands full, but we honestly had such a great experience from him that even if everything went wrong, it still would've been outstanding! Definitely would come here again to try different rolls and their sashimi! - Pink lady roll (4.7): I ordered this roll because I was intrigued by how many different fish were inside (tuna, salmon, white fish, shrimp), and was surprised that they all ended up working well together. This roll was quite hefty with a generous amount of each ingredient and every bite felt so satisfying. Definitely order this roll if you like raw fish! - Yuzu tuna roll (4.4): This was a well rounded roll. The yuzu was pretty strong and gave the roll such a refreshing and bright flavor. I also loved the addition of red onions which added to the fresh taste. The tuna on top was so red and beautiful, and the spicy tuna inside had a nice kick to it that lingered afterwards. - Spicy chicken ramen (3.6): This was a pretty good chicken ramen. The broth was very flavorful and savory with a hint of sesame. The toppings were all cooked well and the noodles were nice and thick. My only complaints would be the chicken was on the drier side and there wasn't any spicy flavor at all. Also the portion was a bit on the smaller side, but overall still very enjoyable dish. - Crispy Calamari (3.6/5): The calamari was well seasoned and crispy on the outside. Most of the squid wasn't too chewy and was a pretty good texture overall, but there were a few that had a more rubbery texture. Service/ambiance: the service was really good! Our server, Sunny, was very patient and helped answer all of our questions. The interior was really pretty with Japanese style decor and some of the booths had privacy dividers, which made a very cozy vibe.

We shared a Philadelphia Roll, and you could really taste how fresh everything was. My husband is obsessed with the spicy ramen and says it's one of his favorites. On top of the great food, our waitress, Joy, was fantastic! Insanely good quality, very affordable, and we will absolutely be back. We have tried several different rolls, but always have to have this one each time we go. My only complaint is their drinks. We ordered the Tom Kha and Pad Thai, both with tofu and a level 4 spice (out of 5). The spice level is very much true to tase, order whatever you usually order for spice and you should be good. The menu is also extremely vegetarian friendly, with most, if not all dishes, having tofu and vegetables as protein options. Now for me to start gushing about the food. The Tom Kha was absolutely wonderful and the star of the show for both of us. Every sip was jam packed full of flavor and the broth had the perfect balance of lime and coconut. The tofu sadly didn't add a ton to the dish but I still enjoyed every bite featuring it regardless! I really wish they had larger serving sizes available for sharing or even just as an entree. The Pad Thai was also wonderful with not a single dull bite to be tasted. The flavor was delicious and very well balanced, with the eggs especially being a highlight of every bite they were a part of. Similar to the Tom Kha, the tofu was just fine. I would recommend ordering it with vegetables unless you're looking to get your protein fix for the day. Overall this place was a genuine delight and I am extremely excited to visit it again in the future to both enjoy more of their amazing Tom Kha and to try their curries!
