FABULOUS! The staff are warm and friendly and very helpful. It's a new restaurant so obviously they don't have all policies memorized, but they always ask the owner if aren't sure, which is excellent customer service. I got the Maki Combo which was three rolls, soup, salad, and veggie tempura and it was fantastic! The portion of fish to rice was perfect. The presentation was great and the sushi was well constructed. For $13...you can't beat that anywhere! I also got the shumai, which I loved. I can't say enough great things about this place! Sushi Naper isn't what it used to be a few years back. There used to be a soft, clean bite in each piece, but now the fish they use is on the rubbery side and requires some effort to chew. Sushi Naper used to stand out from the crowd with a generous fish-to-rice ratio. Now they skimp on the fish and avocado and overfill the pieces with rice and filler such as cucumber and lettuce. To make things worse, the veggie quality has also gone down over the years. I mean, how do you cheap out on cucumber? Don't take just my word for it--the other locals are noticing, too. Even on weekend nights, the seats aren't filled like they used to (my last visit was pre-COVID). That being said, it is all-you-can-eat sushi, so you can't expect the quality to be top-notch. Another thing is that the waitstaff lack communication with one another. Every time I've been there, I've been asked by each waitress if I want water, if I'm ready to order, and if I'm enjoying my meal. They're nice, they mean well, but it's impossible to eat or carry out a conversation in peace. read more

I am completely baffled that this place has such great reviews, I have had better quality sushi from grocery stores. I go into sushi in the suburbs with lower expectations and realize you are not going to get the best product but this was absolutely awful. 1. Shrimp tempura was frozen out of the box (sell this at super h mart). 2. The spicy tuna is orange. 3. The red dragon roll was hands down the worst sushi roll I have ever tried. 4. Missing item. Easily the best sushi joint in town! Would and will definitely trek from the city to Naperville for this place on a regular basis. Nigiri is every bit as good as some high end sushi restaurants without all you can eat options. Salmon and Super white melt like literal room temperate butter in your mouth and the mackerel is unbelievable. Special rolls and weekly specials available for all you can eat as well. Mexican is an invigorating experience for the senses--a top pick from the menu. Standard tally menu with usual suspects like seaweed salad or miso soup. So much value here. Blows away others in the area such a Sakura, even popular all you eat destinations in Chicago like sushi para. Better in quality than non-all you can eat options in the area such as Shinto. As long as nothing changes here, I'll be coming back for a long, long time. read more

I came here with a friend and i saw this happen , i felt bad for the lady she was so embarrassed and crying because of how rude this waiter was.... i would hate to be in their position. Sushi is below average by the way. Would only get three stars if i hadn't witnessed this happen. I copied and pasted the other yelpers review below. Horrible service. We came in yesterday for some dinner and were given the worst customer service EVER. Our waiter made someone in our party cry because she ate a corner of a crab Rangoon and an edamame from something that was part of the all you can eat sushi. He berated her and told her she could not eat that because It was part of the all you can eat. So We told him that we would pay for that person's entree, AND the all you can eat for her so she could eat the crab Rangoon too. After a bit she grabbed an edamame and he came back to our table and said "didn't I tell you, you can't eat that!?" It was so embarrassing and incredibly disrespectful especially after we told him that we would've paid for BOTH menu items so there wouldn't be an issue but his incompetence is out of this world or he was racially motivated to belittle our table. Alright folks, I'm here to set the record straight on this place. This is my only yelp review I have written to date. Just ate dinner here. The sushi was warm and the rice was dry. The tuna sashimi was not fresh at all. Out of the rainbow roll, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and tuna sashimi, none were good. Why do people keep saying this place is so amazing? I can easily go to Standard Market, a grocery store to be clear, and get way better sushi. $24 all you can eat sushi sounds great, but didn't enjoy any of it. Sushi Naper is probably the best Sushi restaurant in Naperville. They have a wide variety to choose from and the price is reasonable. This is a newer location so there is no wait and the service is excellent. I will not put down the other sushi restaurants in the area but this place is far better than K*ku and Sh*ntu. If you want great food and don't care about being "Naperville fancy", check this place out! You won't be disappointed. read more

My first instinct was to give it 3 stars but I am holding back to support a newer concept sushi in this neighborhood. Ever since Nagoya closed, I've missed a good 'all you can eat sushi' restaurant. Also they explicitly state you pay extra for the leftovers which frankly is the best way to stop wastage at buffets. Sushi rolls were great. My 2 disappointments were the service and Mongolian grill. Service left much to be desired. As someone else said in reviews here, wait staff was in a hurry to go somewhere during a slow lunch hour! Our table of 4 barely got enough wasabi and ginger strips for one person and staff at no point stopped by to check for a refill. Mongolian grill was meh. Choices of sauce were meh too. I'd recommend this place for sushi rolls but not for its service or grill. It is a big restaurant though and your larger groups can be easily seated. read more

I have never written a review of a business before, but reading the other reviews of Suhi Naper motivated me to make a Yelp account. After pondering my last three years of eating at Sushi Naper I cannot help but wonder where these other reviews are coming from. Over the years I have alway received my entire delicious order and have always been treated with respect. The restaurant has gotten more popular recently and during busy hours the wait for our food has increased (which is to be expected). I am happy to wait a little longer for my rolls and nigiri because in three years of eating at this establishment I have never gotten sick, and never left hungry or unsatisfied. I have also gotten to know management and I have always been treated with respect. I would also like point out that the owner is a kind and professional woman. I have been here a number of times and always had a great experience. Tonight however was the worst experience I had. The sushi rolls were so so and the service was just awful. The server we had was nowhere to be found. After dropping off the sheet to pick the the items from the AYCE menu, he came back to the table once. I had to chase him down to drop off the blue sheet because he could not be bothered to stop by our table. When we wanted to place another order, we git the sheet but he never stopped by the table again. After waiting 15 minutes, we had to go to the cashier to get the check because once again the server did not care about his table. read more

It all started being greeted at the door by a kind Asian lady. We both followed her to the table and looked at the menu. After ordering, our food came. Mine was yummy in the tummy but on the other side of the Hannah was struggling taking the biggest bite of her life. Blueberry mayo was dripping down into her napkin as she choked and gasped for air. Her only complaints were: it didn't look like the picture, the seaweed didn't break apart when biting it and couldn't use chopsticks. A Mongolian bar is included in the price where you can get continuous food, as much as you want. The wait staff is very attentive and nice. Went to this spot today and this will give Shinto a run for its money. Service was great but then again I was there at 4pm so it was not crowded yet for a Saturday afternoon. They do have a regular menu if you aren't a fan of sushi or aren't looking to do the AYCE. Speaking of AYCE, the deal is great! They have house specials that are part of the deal too. It is noted that if you can't finish the sushi they will charge you for the extra so be careful in ordering. Slow and steady wins the race! Try the Turtle roll. Went for the AYCE lunch after reading the encouraging reviews. Was not disappointed! $18 for $36 worth of delicious food. Can't beat that! As soon as I walked in the server greeted me and asked if I'd been there before. I hadn't so she explained the AYCE lunch and dinner were both available, as well as standard menu. I knew I wanted AYCE but I really appreciated the breakdown. Started with shumai, which were pretty good, and crab rangoon, which were amazing. I'm a pretty bland sushi eater, so I got my Philadelphia roll and was happy. I also got a Salfornia roll with is basically a Cali roll with Salmon on top. It was amazing. I then went with a Crazy roll, which was described as tempura shrimp, crab, cream cheese, cucumber, and crunchy. It came out and did have all those things, but was also topped with a generous amount of Unagi sauce and spicy mayo. As I said, I'm a pretty bland eater (pretty much no condiments/sauces) so I told the server that I wasn't expecting that. I knew about the pay what you don't eat rule, and didn't want to pay an extra 10 bucks for something I didn't like. She was super understanding and offered to make a new roll dry for me. When I was almost finished with that roll she offered me a single piece from the original order that came out, to compare it to my dry version. I thought that was very cool and did try a piece. It was definitely easier to eat with the sauce and the spicy mayo gave it a kick that was nice. Next time I might give it a shot as is, but I was stuffed at that point. In all, great service and great food in a clean environment. Not sure what else I could have asked for. Will definitely be my go-to sushi spot from now on. read more

Must try! This sushi restaurant is hidden in the strip mall off of Route 59 behind the McDonald's and it's by far one of the best places to get sushi in the area. It beats the rotary place for sure and will definitely give Shinto a run for their money. All you can eat sushi for $21.99 & so many choices as well. The staff was so friendly, atmosphere is beautiful. Once the word gets out, this place will be THE place to get sushi. My husband said it's the "best food he's ever had in his LIFE", that says a lot. The favor profiles are amazing. We will definitely be regulars there!! UPDATE: Came back with my husband and daughter. I ordered the $21.99 all you can eat sushi. My daughter who's never had sushi before (she's young & would never have eaten her $'s worth), would have been $12.99; however I asked the owner if she could share/try some of mine and she told me it wasn't their policy, but wouldn't "charge me for one bite". My daughter was so scared to even try it bc the owner was lurking around us making sure she wasn't eating more than one bite. They couldn't make her a 4 piece of sushi AND I wasn't allowed to bring home my 4 pieces that were left over without being charged $5.00 (Yes, you get charged for leftovers if you want to take them home), so I had to force myself to eat those last few pieces. I totally understand and respect policies, but to make us feel uncomfortable while eating by lurking around us and making my daughter uncomfortable, isn't right. Amazing sushi for a confusingly low price. I dont write many reviews but this Sushi Naper is so good that I had to. The nigiri and regular maki are great but the specialty rolls really impress. They are very creative with the combinations of flavors and the presentation is very appealing. This is definitely a new favorite spot of mine. read more
