Popped by Galaxy Sushi for a quick family dinner. The staff was nice and the restaurant was empty around 5:45pm. It started to fill up around 6:30, but still had space by the time we left. The inside isn't fancy or anything, but it does the job for a quick no frills dinner. I ordered 4 rolls of sushi and they were all pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet potato roll which had fried sweet potato and was so flavorful. Additionally the shrimp tempura special with crab was yummy too. The tuna avocado, and the spicy tuna were also good, nothing to write home about but as expected. The prices are not too bad, would probably come back if I was craving sushi and was around the area. read more

Decided to stop in for lunch after discovering another Yelper's review. They are new and still working out the kinks. This was evidenced by our food taking about 25 minutes when we were the only table in there. I gave them some slack for this. Their lunch menu was very reasonably priced. For 3 rolls and a salad, it was 13.95. I would definitely return for lunch. They had some other combos available as well. I enjoyed 2 of my 3 rolls. The spicy salmon I was not a fan. It also looked like they had fun sake and alcohol but I did not try on this visit. Give them a try. It is conveniently located near Westmont metra station. read more

Came here with my wife. We love sushi, so Galaxy opening up was a great opportunity for us. Before reading, please note that I tried to keep in mind they are new and working out any remaining issues, challenges, etc. Their prices are extremely competitive. For basic rolls, they have great lunch specials. I ordered a sweet potato roll, spicy tuna roll, and california roll. Including a side salad, it was less than $20. I ordered a volcano roll separately, which was $15.95. The rolls were good. The basic rolls had 6 pieces each, and the volcano had 6, too. The volcano was deep fried. The food was good. Where they lost a star is fine-tuning everything. We were the only customers, and it took 25 minutes to get our first roll. The hallway and bathroom smelled like a sewer issue. I hope they get that sorted out. I have high hopes for them to succeed. We do want to go back and try some other things. read more

I had heard good things of Galaxy Sushi so my wife and I decided to give them a try one night for dinner. The restaurant is right in the middle of downtown Westmont, across the street from the Metra station. It was crowded at all but we went on a cold Sunday evening so that could've been why. The space is nice and open with plenty of tables. Our server was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. I really enjoyed the miso soup, yellowtail scallion roll, and spicy salmon roll (my favorite). We shared the edamame which was also very good. They have a decent sake & beer menu as well as many soft drinks & teas. I'll definitely be back to Galaxy Sushi! read more

Super easy to get to if you take the Metra BNSF, we hopped off at the Westmont stop, went up the stairs and it was right there. The service was so SO friendly and helpful with explanations. We went on a Monday at 1:30, we did a lunch special (kinda) choosing between option A, B or C. We picked the C special to share b/n 2 people. That came with 2 appetizers, 3 special rolls and 2 maki rolls for $59.95. In the photo, we did a Philly & spicy tuna for the Maki, Mars, Sun & Dragon for the special and spring rolls for the appetizers ( it was 2 spring rolls per person so 4 in total). I had two glasses of Moscato & my friend had a Lychee soju that came in a bottle. I had two shots of her soju that I added to the wine since she couldn't do the whole bottle alone. Spring rolls came out hot, very good, flaky. The rolls were just as good- presentation was so pretty and portioned well. Our total was about $91.00. We both took some home. Extra points because they had the low sodium soy sauce packets! My friend and I decided over apps that we will definitely be coming back! read more

Really wanted to love this place but our experience was very mixed. (I read previous older reviews but hoped they had addressed their issues). Sushi and ramen were tasty and the sushi was fresh, served in a very attractive way. The waitress was very friendly and sweet. BUT - there was only one other small table eating when we arrived and it still took almost 25 minutes to receive any food (2 hand rolls, 2 sushi and 1 bowl of ramen). Then one of the rolls was not what I ordered. Took another 30 minutes to receive the correct roll - by which point I was no longer hungry and my guest had finished their entire meal. All in all we were there for an hour and a half (and I didn't even eat the last roll there - packed it up as soon as it was finally brought to me). There were 3 "chefs" working so I really couldn't figure out how it could take them so long to prepare any food. Other customers arrived by then but their food wasn't getting served either. The waitress only acknowledged the issue after I asked for the check. It seems like they know they are very very slow but haven't done anything to address the problem.
