There aren't a lot of great sushi options in this area, so I'm really glad to have this spot so close to home. They offer all the traditional sushi staples along with plenty of kitchen items for those who may not be as into sushi. That said, everything I've tried here has been consistently good, so it's hard to go wrong. The sashimi is always fresh, and the nigiri is consistently well prepared. I also enjoy their tako wasabi, which is always a solid choice. On my last visit, I tried the yuzu hotachi from their specials board, and it was outstanding. The flavors were unique and unlike anything I've had before. I really hope they consider adding it to the regular menu. They also have a wide selection of rolls, so there's something for everyone. I didn't realize how far north Sushi nunu was... it's literally in Prosper. I thought the sushi was ok... some of the fish needs to be cured better because it was kinda bland. I have been to Sushi nunu a few times now and I have to say, it is becoming of one of my go to sushi spots since moving to the area. The service is always prompt and attentive. The chefs are very friendly and have offered complimentary dishes each time we have went. We typically order every item off the specials menu plus every cold plate item, so they know what we like! Ambiance is very traditional in the sense that they have sushi bar and traditional uniforms. There are a few more tables than other traditional sushi spots, so a bit easier to get in if you go earlier enough. I highly recommend you give Sushi nunu a try when in the area. You can't go wrong with any of their cold plates and sushi/sashimi special, especially the infamous chu toro! read more

We started with the ikageso (fried squid) and some miso soups - squid was tender and came out v hot and yum, miso soups were also flavorful c: For sushi we got the madai carpaccio and a variety of nigiris - honestly for the price it was all really good!! Fish was fresh and the toppings on each nigiri was yummy. Nigiris are mostly 2pc per order except for some, and i think the pricing is super good esp compared to other sushi restaurants in dfw. My fav pieces were def the tuna nigiri, hirame, hotate and kanpachi!! For rolls we just tried the negihama - i thought this one was just okay! Still yummy but it felt like there was a lot going on flavor wise and i would prefer if it didnt come wrapped in the raddish but still yummy!!! First time here, and I'm already a fan! I stopped by for the lunch special and got the sushi & maki combo -- super happy with my meal. The fish quality was top-notch, and I loved the touch of wasabi on top. It's the little details! Ordered the Nunu roll, Super Toro roll and the Negi Hama. All were very fresh and super delicious. My favorite was the super toro, you can taste the fattiness of the tuna and it's a nice splurge for a date night. The Nunu roll was fresh and full of fish, perfect for a light bite without the rice. Negi Hama was also delicious, but I wish the charred scallion was a bit more pronounced. Service was excellent and the food came out quickly. read more

I have to start by saying that the entire staff here was incredibly sweet and attentive The entire place was very clean, and my food came out way faster than I expected I'll start with my sushi because this was one of the most interesting flavors I've ever had. I honestly wish I could describe it, but it almost felt like a dream because I just left and I can't even remember. I would order this role every day of my life for 80 years minimum. It was so good and whatever sauce it came with was insane. I'm a big believer in putting a little bit of soy sauce on a roll. Because when does it roll not need it? But this one... It would be an insult to change anything about it. I'm so serious. I'm going to take my mom here just for this role because she's a huge sushi snob and I know she's going to move to Texas just for it. The curry was good, but not great. The Katsu chicken was perfectly cooked and it brought a ton of chicken, but the actual curry itself was really mild and a little bit bland. That is totally fine if your new to curry and want to just get a feel for what it's like without committing to a lot of flavor or spice, but for me, I like my curry to take over my entire mouth. It was really good though, I might not order it again, but I sure am going to devour it as leftovers. I was visiting the step daughter in Prosper from Los Angeles, and we decided to try Texas sushi. Good gracious I'm glad we did. Fresh, delicious, and inventive, we loved EVERYTHING we ate here and I'm honestly disappointed we didn't stay long enough to go back and try other dishes. On par with the style of California fusion sushi, this place has a great staff, amazing food and the price was very reasonable for the quality. I cannot recommend this spot enough. This is a relatively new sushi spot in the far side of Frisco. This was a bit of a drive for me but it so SOO WORTH IT. The interior is very nice, you can see the sushi chefs make the rolls and prepare all the food from behind the bar. My friend and I got the super toro, salmon sakana lover, and black spider roll, as well as the ikageso as an appetizer. The super toro roll was our favorite. There's delicious tuna inside as well as melty toro on top. I loved the crunch from the fried jalapeño on top and pickled radish inside. The salmon sakana lover roll was also a hit. Creamy avocado and crab wrapped with salmon, what more can you ask for. The black spider roll was huge and I am a sucker for soft shelled crab. I also loveeeee tempura flakes and having the black color from squid ink is a first. Every single roll we got here was exceptional. The ikageso (squid) is probably the most tender squid I've ever had. The breading is perfect as well. I would definitely make the drive to come back here again. Not bad. Salmon Sashimi - 4/5 - same price. I preferred this over the Tuna. Salmon Belly - 5/5 - 4 for $16. I recommend this. Super Toro Roll - 5/5 - Really enjoyed the soy mustard sauce on it. Karaage - 4/5 - Nothing special other than Japanese fried chicken, which one can never go wrong with. We came here on a Sunday night at 7pm for a birthday dinner. The place was packed and but still very calm and welcoming. The decor is very tasteful as well. The hostess had us sitting down in under 30 minutes. Onto the food. Everything was so well prepared and taste delicious. I love that each sushi was well dressed and presented. Flavors were just right and every bite was WORTH IT. overall this looks like a typical sushi joint inside the suburbs... but you are getting the most gastronomical experience not like any other ones around here. Reviewing this based on what it is, a really good upper mid range Japanese restaurant. Is it a 5 star Uchi or Nobu, no that's what I would consider 5 stars. So 4 stars is a solid sushi recommendation from me. Each price is Nigiri is an art form here, everything is elevated a little. I happen to be craving higher quality sushi and was near the area. Saw Sushi Nunu pop up on my social media feed so decided to give it a try! [PARKING] This is situated in a complex full of other places so the parking lot is ample. No issues here. [SERVICE] We went during dinner time and it was surprisingly a full house. I only say that because I thought I had to wait for a table but we were able to get seated pretty quickly. If I did go next time, I would make sure to have a reservation just in case. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive! [SUSHI] Pretty good quality of fish overall. Under their cold tasting's, I ordered the Hama Chili - yellowtail sashimi. For nigiri, I ordered Salmon Belly and Aburi Sake (torched salmon). For rolls, we tried the Machi Maki - yellowtail based maki. We also ordered the Mandiko Cream Udon - cream sauce udon with fish roe. This reminded me of a cream udon dish that I tried in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles! I loved it so much. Also received complimentary madai nigiri. (Thank you for this!!) I loved everything that we chose because every bite had something unique about it. I actually didn't even know the chef was a previous chef at Uchi and it all makes sense now. I really enjoyed Sushi nunu because of the different oils and garnishes they use on their nigiri. I wasn't expecting it! For the price and quality, I would recommend this place if you are nearby the area and want to try something more high quality! Since I live in Fort Worth, I have some good options here and in Dallas so I would say this is a good spot for anyone around the Frisco area!
