Do not order the "Miso" soup ! I was very sick the night I ate a bowl of this soup. I knew something did not set right the moment I finished the bowl. That night I had aggressive food poisoning. This is the day after and I still feel ill. I know it was that soup. Other then that, the fish is good. But if they keep leftover Miso and serve it at a risk....then the management needs to be aware. Sushi ON is an easy go to restaurant for this Indio resident (me). It's located in Indio but on the boarder of La Quinta and I think it's a hidden gem. My absolute favorite roll is the shooting star but the following are just as tasty: yellow tail carpaccio, fried gyoza, salmon Kama, rainbow roll, dragon roll, spicy tuna, mango tango, and popcorn lobster. Everything always taste so fresh and good. Pictures on their menus and online are accurate and great references. I always dig in before taking pics so I got none to share. Servers are always so kind but service can be slow for dinner especially on weekend days which is why I give 4 stars. When I go in on those day I mentally prepare for the slower service and just think to my self it's packed because it's good food and good vibes - no need to be frustrated at the servers or anyone. Pro tip: my favorite time to go in is during lunch. read more

This is a great sushi place I go to when visiting from my home in Seattle. It has some special items on the menu that I don't remember seeing in a lot from the places up north I regularly go to. This makes it fun to explore new dishes. It looks like they have great options for larger parties of people but I haven't tried that yet since I go alone. I usually have to ask for ginger and wasabi that I am generally used to just coming along with the order without asking. Maybe that is because wasabi is too hot for some people? I just figure that it is the kind of the thing you can keep diluting by adding a higher portion of soy sauce to the wasabi. It is up to you how spicy you want it to be. Not the BEST QUALITY sushi, but the combinations in the rolls were tasty! To go is served in grocery store sushi containers and they lack rice. They don't give much sauce on the side even if you ask for more. It is very pricey for the quality. Sam's and Joe's is much better quality. 4 stars because I enjoyed my rolls and they tasted fresh but lacking rice! I paid $22 per roll and was hoping I would at least get some rice. read more

$4.99 for a green tea bag and hot water you lost your mind! I ordered albacore with crispy onions for my entree and it was supposed to come with radish tops. Apparently they didn't have any and they tried to substitute with argula which I can't eat. Luckily I told him while he was making it, you should discuss all substitutions before you make them. The food here is good and I do recommend this place if you come during non-peak hours. However, if you come here while they're busy, good luck. We had a group of 4 and were meeting another group of 4 friends. The larger tables had just been taken, so the restaurant had no idea when they could sit us. I had take-out a while back and it was especially good that night. Staff were amazing, they offered to stay open 15 minutes after closing so I could pick it up after I got off work. They assured me they would wait for me. It was a busy weekend in town that night, so I really appreciated their kindness to do that!!!:) The sushi was especially good. I had one of the spicy rolls and a Philly style roll, both were very nicely prepared and tasted fresh. The ponzu sauce and a type of spicy aioli were especially good too. A pre-made selection of rolls are available on the menu if you want to just walk in and pick one up. This is great if you are on limited time like a lunch break. Presentation was blah, broken plates and dirty. The salmon was tasty. The spicy tune roll was made with burnt rice. So disappointing. Consistent. High Quality. Fresh. We come by her probably once every couple of weeks and have even picked up food on the way home. We have had the Joshua Tree, Vegas, Citrus, and Avacado Wave rolls - all good. We have also tried the gyoza, yaki soba, tempura, teriyaki, ramen, and katsu. All excellent. The sushi can vary slighlyt from one time to the next, but generally very consistent - rarely "fishy". The service is always bustiling, but you can grab anyone to get anything you need. It can be crowded at times, but we have never waited longer than 30 minutes when we come reasonably early. SOmetime it looks crowded because of the number of to-go patrons. We have seen the occasionaly party of 6 or 8, but most follks are 2 or 4. Definitely wirth revisiting routinely. read more

We've given this place SO MANY CHANCES. The last two times were horrible. There have been a number of times that we call and they dont pick up. They give you a ETA for your order and you show up to wait. They have you wait like 30 min for your order anyway! Incident 1: We ordered our typical 5 rolls. To go obviously due to the coronavirus. Got home and when we started eating I noticed something on my sushi. I quickly realized it was a bug. Possibly a gnat? I'm not sure, all I know is it had wings. Gross. (See picture) When we brought it to their attention, the lady giggled. Straight up laughed in our face. She swore up and down that it was NOT a bug, but instead it was a different sauce. She claimed that they must have accidentally topped the roll with a different sauce. To which my husband questioned what sauce has winged bugs? Anyway, we went again. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe because its the closest to us? Maybe because we clearly didn't learn our lesson? Incident 2: Today (5/29) I called just past 430pm. Ordered the same 5 rolls. The lady taking the order said pick up was in 35 min. We waited an extra 15 min because there's ALWAYS a freaking wait. Well we showed up and she said that our order was given to someone else. Not accidentally. They gave our order to someone on purpose. She said that because we didn't show up exactly 35 min later they gave it away. She said they tried calling us. My husband checked her notes and she wrote down the WRONG phone number. Husband ended up waiting 30 min while they remade the order. There's no winning here. They don't understand the concept of "the customer is always right" and clearly customer service doesn't matter. We learned our lesson. We WILL NOT RETURN. You shouldn't either.
