    It's a cozy little place

This place has damn good sushi. It's not fancy, trendy, or current. It actually a small hole in the wall, (only four tables)They really don't present their menu very well, and ordering is a little confusing, but it is very good sushi. I sushi is better than most. The fried rice may be the best I have had anywhere. The prices are fair. I am pleasantly surprised!

We started with the gyoza, which were perfectly seared and served with a lightly sweetened sauce. The filling was perfect. For the main course, I ordered the tuna kawa roll, which was incredibly fresh. I particularly enjoyed the mango inside - a wonderful twist and very complimentary to the tuna and avocado. It's obvious they prioritize high-quality cuts of fish and want to feature that instead of wrapping a little bit of sushi ingredients into large chunks of rice. My husband ordered the yaki soba. I got one bite, and it was delicious. I forgot to share part of my sushi and before we knew it, we had eaten everything. The most difficult part of the evening was deciding on what we wanted to order, so we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I wanted to get a good sampling of what the restaurant had to offer so I got the spicy miso ramen with the grilled chicken and then sampled the sushi by getting an order of salmon sashimi. Both dishes were very good and there was much more grilled chicken with the ramen than I was expecting, so that was a nice surprise! The prices were reasonable as well. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and would certainly come back. 4/5

It was our first trip…read morein since Masago SUSHI moved in to the old Sushi Hana location on Riverside dr. near the Creek Turnpike. It looked much the same as before, clean and inviting with enough class to make it feel nice but also chill enough for a wide variety of patrons to feel comfortable. We started with appetizers or calamari and tuna carpaccio. The calamari were wonderfully cooked and not super chewy. The breading was a little different than what you'd find at other places and was crispy and enjoyable. The sweet chili sauce was splendid and added an extra lightly sweet note. The tuna capaccio. This completely wowed us. Thin slices of tuna with some sprouts and and a wasabi drizzle. The presentation was wonderful, it tasted amazing and was fun to eat!! Our sushi rolls, two basic and two chef specials. We got the spicy tiny and Boston rolls along with a 1776 which included thinly sliced filet mignon on the outside. All of our rolls were well crafted and the fish felt and tasted as fresh as possible for being in a land locked state. We really enjoyed the 1776 but it wasn't something we'd get again. Where the steak was fine and it tasted good, it's not something that we want to circle back to. On a side note, the wasabi served with our sushi tasted like one would expect but didn't bring the heat as I'd hoped. I enjoy that burn in my nostrils! It didn't take away from the overall experience as it's simply my preference. To wrap up, our server did and excellent job. She was friendly and personable and made sure we always had full glasses. Kudos to good service. If you've dined here before, what was your favorite item to order?

At similar restaurants, the sauces are typically ginger and mustard sauces. They have ginger and something they called Yum Yum sauce. Neither of us liked that but the ginger is great. Overall, the meals were very good. We each had a Long Island Tea. Very well made & quite a strong drink. A+ to the bartender. Later, the hot Saki was very nice. Now, for the negative ... When we arrived, we were seated at a Hibachi table & moments later, we were asked to move and taken to another table in another room apparently simply to fill 2 empty spots. That table had SIX kids & FOUR adults. I was NOT pleased & tried to refuse. We considered leaving but ended up staying. Most of the kids were well-behaved & the youngest "only" SCREAMED for a couple of minutes before the parents shut that down. Next time, we will leave the premises. We don't have kids & when attempting to enjoy a Saturday night out, screaming kids are absolutely never on our wish list. Very disappointing & we won't tolerate it a 2nd time.
