This was a interesting place to grab lunch. My business associates wanted come here for lunch since we all enjoy sushi. It wasn't anything like I expected. We choose a table to the side which was so wobbly. It was hard to eat and keep the table level - thankfully sushi are small bites. The waiter came and took our drink order - he wasn't the best but managed ok. To serve yourself you made your way to the train to take the sushi you wanted. Sadly there were no labels on the plates so it was a guessing game. The only one that had a label was the T.N.T - which had a sign very very very very spicy. Don't get me wrong it was spicy but I thought it was more on the moderate side. It had the heat that snuck up on you after a minute. I did enjoy it! The price of the sushi was determined by the color of the plate that you chose. I took a few different colored plates and there was nothing that I chose that I didn't like. I also chose a side order of Salmon Roe & Flying Fish eggs. I knew my party would be reluctant to order but they are two of my favorites so they had to try. Only one was worthy of actually trying and eating. I know it's not for everyone but still happy they tried. It's a worthty place to try . . . at least once.

My eldest daughter wanted to get sushi for her birthday and asked to go to Sushi Train. None of us had ever been there before so I was looking to have a new experience. I am not one to really eat sushi but I did try some tonight. We got seated quickly and got our drink orders served fast as well. Our food orders were a little sporadic when they brought them out to us. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the Philly roll which was smoked salmon, avocado and cream cheese. As my entrée, I got the chicken teriyaki with fried rice. It was a nice meal. As a personal preference I am not a sushi fan so I don't think I will be back for a while. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and we all had an enjoyable time.

Stopped by on a weekday afternoon and thankfully it wasn't too packed (but they'd filled up by the time I left.) Was greeted immediately and told to grab any table I liked. The server was nice enough to give me a rundown as a first timer. I was sat at the furthest back booth closest to the kitchen. This is the ideal spot for getting first dibs on the sushi train. The prices of the plates ranged from $3-5. The variety was alright. There were quite a few deep fried rolls as options, but I personally prefer raw rolls. The few raw rolls on the train were pretty basic. They have over 20 rolls on the menu and even more off menu; which your welcome to order if the train's not doing it for you. The sushi's not the highest grade sushi, but it's pretty good for the price. I got 3 plates off the train, salmon and eel nigiri, plus a soda which came to $27. I considered getting more, but was comfortably full. The flavors were on point. The nigiri kind of fell apart, but the salmon and eel tasted great. I would definitely go back for a cheap sushi outing, solo or with friends.

I went here on a Friday at 5:30 and it was a little busy but nothing crazy. They did seem to have a lot of to go orders. Sadly, I sat down and order just two things and it took a very long time for them to come. The train only had a few rolls and they weren't really refilling it so there were not a lot of options. My water and miso soup came out fast but my two rolls I ordered took a long time and one of them, I saw the guy making and when he finished, he didn't give one to me so I had to ask and explain that was the role I ordered. The food is always okay, Not bad but also not great. For the price I can definitely get better.

So strong two but our friend said you gotta order the plate. We didn't bc we wanted sushi but his meat plate looked good.... now the sushi... pretty decent and tasty but I hate to say there was a lot sitting out and it wasn't chilled... not saying we got sick but it was fresh and it wasn't horrible. The train is cool but you can order what you want. We did order a roll and it was on par with what was rolling around....

I've been a Sushi Train customer for more than 15 years! It's definitely a must-stop if you're in or passing through Tulsa, OK. Yes, the building is dated inside and out and doesn't offer much confidence in terms of curb appeal or interior charm, however don't let that deter you. the menu is huge with seemingly endless Sushi rolls! If making decisions isn't your strong point, don't worry! Just pull up a stool at the bar, or take a seat near the train track and watch the train go by with a variety of sushi rolls in tow! Just grab a sushi plate that looks good on the train as it goes by! A neat and fun experience! - The staff is friendly, the food is typically consistently good. While the sushi can be delicious, don't forget to try their Chicken Yakitori. You won't be disappointed!

Ask the Community - Sushi Train

Can you sit at a table and still grab off the train?

Yes, whatever you grab off of the train, please do not put anything back on the train. Set lids and tags on the outside of the tables. The servers would pass by and pick them up without interrupting you while eating or your conversations. -Chino

Speaking of flavor, I'm sure the special blended soy sauce played a major part. On top of that, there's chili sauce at the table & that right there has a Shawn Michaels super kick to it. With the bowl being full of chicken along with the other components like fish cake, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onion & a soft boiled egg (that's also flavored)... it's not even an overload. It's flavor on top of flavor on top of flavor. I couldn't even finish it & took it to-go. My waitress was super nice & the wait on my food didn't take long (they had a mini lunch rush when I got here). Outside of ramen, there's so much to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for ramen, sushi, bowls, etc... this is your spot. I was having a headache & really needed some food to help get rid of it (I was also in the area). Ramen usually does the trick & it prevailed as I started feeling better. Oishi came in the clutch.

Exceptional Quality and Craftsmanship in Tulsa -- Mr. Nobu's Sushiya…read more We recently visited Mr. Nobu's Sushiya, and overall, the quality of the food makes this a place the Tulsa community absolutely needs to support and help grow. The Standouts Incredible Nigiri: The salmon nigiri was superior--far larger than usual and easily outshining the quality at most other sushi restaurants in town. Tempura Shrimp Roll: An absolute highlight at just $11. They added broken tempura pieces to the outside, giving it an remarkably delicious, delightful crunch. Outstanding value and flavor. Craft Cocktails & Details: The cucumber and gin drink was crisp and delicious. We also appreciated the generous portions of wasabi and house-style white ginger (which is far better quality than the dyed pink variety). Areas for Improvement Sodium Sensitivity: The zucchini appetizer was good but noticeably salty. My husband limits sodium for medical reasons, and while staff confirmed the soy sauce was low sodium, it tasted quite high in sodium to us. Extra transparency or true low-sodium options would be helpful for guests with health restrictions. Ambiance & Space: The space is quite small. During our visit, the sushi bar felt a bit claustrophobic and the dining room felt tight. A larger space would let their expert sushi chefs truly shine. Happy Hour Opportunity: We rushed over expecting Happy Hour between 4:00 and 5:00 PM, only to find out it had been discontinued. The restaurant was very quiet during that hour. Bringing back and promoting an early happy hour could be a great way to fill that dead time and draw in a crowd. Final Thoughts Between the expert sushi chefs and the remarkable food quality, this has the potential to be the single best sushi spot in Tulsa if it gets the space to expand. Perhaps Simply opening the sushi bar to the dining room would make both rooms seem larger. As a bonus for travelers, Mr. Nobu's is on the Southwest Airlines Dining Awards list (3 points per dollar with a Rapid Rewards card), which is a huge perk if you're earning toward a Companion Pass! We will definitely be back.

There are claw machines at the front and back and sketchbooks with colored pencils on every table so you can draw while waiting for your food. The service is friendly - you order at the front counter and get a buzzer that buzzes when your food is ready at the pickup counter. The boba drinks are good. They have a decent selection of milk teas and fruit drinks as well as toppings. The boba pearls are done right, freshly made so they are soft and chewy like they're supposed to be. Once I ordered popping boba on accident (honey boba on the menu) thinking it was regular boba sweetened with honey and did not like it. They graciously switched it out with regular boba for me which I truly appreciated. My one recommendation would be to adjust the sweetness level if you prefer lighter drinks. The last time I visited I forgot to ask and it was a bit on the sweet side for me. I've also ordered poke and teriyaki bowls from them before and it was ok. The food was fine, it just didn't stand out to me. I usually come here for the drinks but would give the food another try given the good service and atmosphere. They have ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers like chicken karaage and kimchi fries. Overall I'd recommend Gung Ho as a solid hangout spot that's centrally located with good drinks and plenty of food options.

Upon entering the main entrance and getting our buzzer for a 5 to 10 minute wait, I was horrified when I looked up at the ceiling lights and noticed that the tops of the light shades apparently have not been cleaned any time in the last decade. They were disgusting. I then went into the men's bathroom to wash my hands and there were paper towels all over the floor and it just had a smell that I found quite unappealing. Not the cleanest bathroom I've ever been in, that's for sure. After that shaky start we were seated at a Hibachi table and waited a few minutes for a few more people to be seated at that same table. Menus were delivered by an efficient server, drink orders were taken and delivered fairly quickly. Our hibachi chef was quite personable and had a funny attitude. When I told him that this was our first time there and that I expected him to put on quite a show he replied that this was his first day. It was a joke. He then proceeded to dazzle us with his handy work with a knife and spatula. It was quite amazing. I particularly enjoyed the onion volcano. I ordered teriyaki steak as a lunch special and it was only about $12. It was cooked perfectly medium rare as I had requested. With everything you get with that including fried rice, vegetables (mushrooms, zuchinni, onions), bean sprouts and a nice salad with an orange ginger dressing that was amazing, I'd have to say it was one of the best values in a restaurant I've had in a long time. I actually can't wait to go back because it was entertaining, the food was delicious and it's a unique experience. What absolutely needs to be improved is the cleanliness of the entranceway and the bathrooms. If I hadn't been so hungry I might've turned around and left before even experiencing the food due to the initial impression.
