Came in again, the menu has changed - they now offer all you can eat. My husband ordered a teriyaki bowl which came with spicy edamame and California roll - he really enjoyed it. I ordered all you can eat sushi. It was so fresh and so delicious! But mind you there rolls are huge and if you don't eat it all they charge you extra. Food came out really quickly but then again we came on a Sunday night at 8:15pm. Service is decent unless you try to fight the leftover charge. Great new sushi spot in Montclair, that has/had a location in Rancho Cucamonga that I went too once. They're not in the old El Torito restaurant. Huge location with a lot of potential and perfect if you're really the whole social distancing thing The staff has great customer service and is really fast. As soon as walked in I didn't have to wait to get seated. They have several menus available to offer individual rolls, to party packs. They are a little over priced compared to other sushi restaurants but I loved the freshness and flavor of the rolls that I ordered so far and looking forward to returning back to try others! read more

Service 5 stars! My sushi roll- Pink Lady - 5 Stars! My family rolls, they did not like it as they claimed the crab meat inside the roll had a weird taste. Honestly, I did not dare to try it. In the 12 years I've known my husband, he has never left any sushi pieces and I tipically take forever to finish mine. Well, this time? My go-to sushi spot in the area whether it's for AYCE or just grabbing some rolls to-go. They don't miss! They offer some specials both for AYCE and takeout. The nigiri is well portioned with not too much rice, and the rolls are big with fresh ingredients. They have a nice variety on the menu so my husband and I always try different rolls if we're dining in. The quality of fish is amazing! Service is excellent, even when they're busy. I have dined in once when it was empty and it was hard to flag anyone down haha, but the server ladies are so kind and always have a smile on. A few things irked me though, my husband and I did AYCE. from the moment we put our 1st round in it took them a little over an hour to bring the entirety of that order. Came to ask us if we wanted to put a second round in. But we were still missing all appetizers, soup and a hand roll. Charged us auto gratuity of almost $12 after nearly 2 hours spent there on 1 good round and the second round consisted of only 4 nigiri. Mind you I saw them visit a table of 9-10 people significantly more times than they came to check on us. In the end we really didn't get that much, and we didn't get checked on much. The staff was gracious and the host immediately told me about the buy-one-get-one offer on all nigiri and maki. I ordered one hand roll (salmon skin) and my second free roll (yellowtail). Everything was fresh but the pieces of yellowtail were a bit chunky. also ordered charred salmon sushi (2 pcs) and then my second free one (smelt roe). Delicious. Also ordered yummy shrimp. I I barely had time to finish my water before they replenished my glass. I sat at the sushi bar and was checked on regularly by the staff behind the bar as well as the servers. Excellent service! Incredible sushi! I do not like eating sushi. The most I'll do is a veggie roll. Tonight I ate their Golden Tiger Roll, Shrimp Tempura and Spicy California Roll. I absolutely ate it all up. The lighting and ambience of the restaurant is 100/10. Definitely making this my Sushi Spot. What is it about a great restaurant that starts cutting back on their offerings and raise the prices along with instituting a mandatory 15% tip for All You Can Eat regardless of party size? We have dined at this location for many years but things started changing after the new owner took over. The sushi portions became smaller, the price went up and recently they reduced the number of sushi pieces and rolls that you can order in half. On my next to last visit on a Tuesday the sushi was not fresh to the point where I could not finish it and told the waiter. On my last visit last night, they brought us half the order on the paper and then we just sat there for 15 minutes waiting for the other half that never came. We complained to a waiter and still did not get anything for another 10 minutes. By then we were not in the mood to eat anymore so we decide to pay the bill and leave and not return for a long time if ever. Too bad because some of the employees are very nice but that's not enough to make it worth over $100 for two people with no alcohol with their offering on a downhill spiral. read more

Hands down my new favorite Sushi place. We walked inside to eat for the first time in a year. We were greeted right away. Our Temps on our wrists were taken. The seating is in pods at least 6 feet apart. There is also bottles of Sanitizer on every table.. We were given roses as Mother's since it was Mother's Day weekend. We had great service. Since they have opening specials, we got a lot of food for a reasonable price. The staff was very kind and helpful. They checked in a lot and wore their masks at all times. Finally, after two years since Howard sold off the Sushi One Spot in Rancho Cucamonga, he's back! Currently, there is no AYCE available at this time due to the pandemic which is understandable. However, even though it is a la carte, the quality is somewhat comparable to a high-end sushi restaurant. I've known the owner, Howard, since his days as a chef at Joe's Sushi in Riverside. I was there for his grand opening of Sushi Asahi in Riverside, his second Sushi Asahi in Corona and again the opening of Sushi One Spot in Rancho Cucamonga. While I would prefer he stay closer to me, the quality of his food, the excellent service and the great person that he is has kept me a loyal follower. Since the pandemic started, I have yet to eat in at any restaurants, having only occasionally ordered food to go the long 10 or so months. For Howard, I finally broke and have now been twice for dine-in in their large outdoor patio. The moment I stepped through their doors, I was greeted by a familiar, yet masked, face: Esther, the manager. It felt like I had gone out of the country for a few years and just came back to my loving family. A void inside me had been filled. I took a short tour while I waited for my friend, pretty much the only person outside of my immediate family that I've had interactions with since Covid 19 hit. The place is beautiful and huge, yet quite intimate at the same time. Others have posted pictures, so pleased look at them for your reference. I can't wait until the pandemic is over and this place is packed to the brim. My friend arrived and we got our table outside. We took advantage of two specials they had going on and, well, it was delicious. Again, I'm not sure how Howard did it, but the sushi was even better than I remembered. Mind you, I've had sushi in Tokyo, including at their famed fish markets. While I may not be the biggest sushi snob, I do know high quality and this ranks right up there with them, but at a much lower price. Nigiri: awesome. Sashimi: awesome. Special rolls: awesome. I love LOVE the Nagoya Roll. Also, be on the lookout for the Polaris Roll. My friend drooled over it. He loved the food so much, we came back less than a week later and gorged ourselves some more. He even made plans to bring his parents back two days later to have a belated birthday celebration for his mom. So you've made it this far in my review, yet you haven't made plans to go to the new Sushi One Spot yet? Why? Just go! You won't regret it. read more

You have to come here. We used to go to Sushi One Spot in Rancho but then we noticed the quality had gone down SIGNIFICANTLY. We found out that it was under new management. I have been scouring Yelp to find out if they opened up shop somewhere else. After almost a year and MANY sushi restaurants later, we finally found them in Montclair! We recognized Esther right away. She is such a hard worker and very sweet to the workers and customers. Then, our order came. It was like night and day. Most buttery salmon we have ever had. No one beats their quality here.
