The perfect place for hungry sushi lovers! I normally go with a group of 6 and our first order includes ~80 salmon sashimi, ~20 eel sashimi, ~30 tuna sashimi, ~10 yellowtail sashimi, plus 3ish rolls. Tip: Ordering sashimi rather than rolls makes your experience more worth the price. The rice from the rolls fills you up much faster, so you can eat more if you order sashimi only! Their non-sushi menu is also pretty delicious. I especially like the seaweed and crab salads. Just don't eat too much from the non-sushi menu or else you won't have room for sushi! All you can eat sushi was satisfying! For ~$23 you get to choose from a selection of specialty rolls, sushi, sashimi, appetizers. You can sample a variety of dishes at once and it's worth it. The quality of the fish tasted fresh, but I'm not a fish expert. Literally my favorite place to get sushi. for starters you get all you can eat for about 30 dollars which includes appetizers, sushi, and dessert. the service is always great, i've never had problems with any staff and they're very fast. the ambiance is also great, it's very calm and welcoming. great experience overall and i go very often! read more

I ate here for lunch at around 12pm with my boss and I am telling you it's 7:45pm, I still have yet to eat cause I am satisfied and FULL. You will leave here wobbling like a pregnant woman, check your tires when you get home cause you will definitely have flattened the side you sit on and cancel any later food plans cause the food will last...a long time the prices aren't so bad it's all you can eat for like 25$ a person they want you to eat as much as you order possible or you'll be charged but that obviously isn't a problem for me lol the kani salad was so good I had two of them and the place is clean all over. You can't even smell the fish and it looks and taste so fresh it melts in your mouth. ayce on a friday night was around 37 pp with tip which is not bad at all for an ayce. we did mostly nigiri and sashimi with a couple of rolls and appetizers. all of the appetizers were standard what you would expect. they have a mushroom soup here which is a little unique and it had an onion flavor to it. the broth reminded me of instant noodles which wasn't bad. we got a variety of different fish like salmon, tuna, albacore, escolar, and hamachi. we really enjoyed the escolar which is the white tuna it was really tasty and buttery. all of the other fish were pretty standard we didn't really enjoy the albacore it had a chewy taste to it. the rolls were also pretty good they were a little on the smaller side which was fine because we weren't looking to stuff ourselves with the rolls. the service was also really attentive and fast and the order process is really simple as well! read more

Very good sushi with unique ingredient combos and quick service for lunch on a Friday. We stopped in here on our roadtrip to Maine. Needed a place that had gluten-free options for me, so sushi is a good fallback. We ordered a bunch of things to go: Spring rolls - Meh. Nothing special. Tiger roll - Good. Godzilla roll - Weird but good. We have never seen melted cheese on a sushi roll but Alex liked it. Kuchi special roll (no crunch) - Great base roll to combo with something else that is spicy. Butterfly roll (no crunch) - Loved the mango and sweet chili sauce! Great and unique combo for sushi. The cost was about what we normally pay in Savannah for specialty rolls but it's cheaper to dine in. Next time: I'll check out some more of their unique ingredient combinations. read more

This was so fabulous. We took a bus here, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Everything was incredible! Perhaps they have recently changed the staff from some of the former reviews (or just better staffing in the summer?) because our waiter was terrific! First time at sushi palace, parking is sparse & very tight but got lucky with a spot. Small dining room & the volume got extremely loud by fellow inconsiderate diners but if you focus on the sushi you will tone out all the background noise. The level of customer service leaves a lot to be desired if you want a server to chit chat however they are speedy to place your order & kept over drinks filled. Sushi was great, a lot of selection, kitchens items are more of an appetizer feel but great to try in between sushi courses. Too much imitation crabmeat for us but just order without. We'd moved to the area a few months ago and had been searching for a new favorite sushi restaurant when a co-worker recommended Sushi Palace. We went on a Saturday night, and were very surprised when we saw the storefront-- it's very unassuming for the glowing review we'd gotten! But once we'd been seated and got our first plate, we saw exactly why that review was so good. Oh. My. Goodness. Each roll was delicious, well-made, and beautifully presented. Also, the service was very fast, a must for our family with a one-year old! We all enjoyed our meal, which ranged from sashimi for my husband to veggie rolls for our little one. This place is small but it's so worth the trip and the money. I was skeptical at first but after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I am very happy we did come here. Omg! The food here is delicious. Very good quality. Especially the eel. My husband said he loved the tuna. It practically melted in his mouth. I love how they put all the sushi in one big dish. When we went it, it was busy but the wait was attentive enough for everyone. There wasn't that much of a wait for the food either. Oh and make sure you call and make reservations. Sushi Palace in Hamden definitely ranks as one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants in CT. I've eaten here with small and large groups before & have always gotten all of the food that I ask for very quickly as well. They take reservations so if you have a larger group, be sure to let them know ahead of time. The place isn't that big so if you come on a busy night, you'll have to wait to be seated with out a reservation. The quality of the sashimi, rolls, and kitchen food has been consistently fresh every time I come & the wait staff is usually really attentive. Always order the special tuna 'pizza', it's absolutely delicious! Eel sushi is also a go-to for me, it's served perfectly warmed! The only downfall of the restaurant is its small parking lot which can probably fit around 6-8 cars. This is probably the only ayce sushi place I've ever been to where the food literally tastes like its from really good sushi restaurant. They managed to maintain really high quality for an ayce place which is pretty impressive. It only costs ~$21 per person. For sashimi, we ordered yellowtail, super white tuna, and salmon. All were really good and tasted super fresh. We saw that the sashimi slices were on the small side so we placed an order for 16 pieces of each and ate it all! My husband, 11-month old son and I had dinner here last night for the first time. Having read the reviews before we knew to go early and preferably not on the weekend to avoid the long lines. We arrived at 6 on a Tuesday night and had to park along a side street off of treadwell. Fortunately we were able to sit comfortably at a 4-person table right away. They took one of the seats away and brought a high chair for our son. Friendly and efficient staff brought our food. I thought the food was yummy. My husband thought it was good as well except something didn't agree with his fragile stomach. Let's just say that I pity anyone who followed after him in the bathroom. Ah well. At first when our friends suggest we go there, we were a little leary. Strike 1, The name invokes a Chuck E Cheese, Pizza Pipes and Pandemonium, low quality/cheesy vibe. Strike 2, its a one price, all you can eat style. it invokes visions of warming pans, and crunchy rice and slippery fish. Strike 3, my wife is pregnant, we weren't sure what she could have at sushi restaurant. We decided to take a chance. We were both very pleasantly surprised. There was large variety of veggie rolls, tempura, and katsu, Includes soup and dessert options. The service system works pretty smooth. 1. You order your drinks. 2. You are given 2 "a la carte" slip you mark off the items you want, and the quantity you want. The first slip contains appetizers, tempura, katsu, teryaki, and desserts. The second sheet contains your sushi roll and shashimi options (and the list is quite extensive). What is really nice is you can choose whether you want standard rolls or hand rolls. 3. You hand them your slips and the food comes out as its ready (Prepared to Order), and they serve it family style. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until your nourished (There really efficient about taking care of your drinks, as long as you can flag them down.) What liked about was the veggie rolls weren't just an after thought. each nicely prepared, and had there own sauces. The rolls and sashimi appeared and tasted quite fresh. The katsu was crispy and the yakotori was expertly grilled. The green tea was Genmai style (roast brown rice), and well brewed. Each thing i tried was tastier than the next! FYI--as of this March 4th, the prices have gone up to 17.95 during the week and I believe 18.95 on the weekends--big deal, so still worth it!!! So we found out today the boy got a new job and of course wanted to celebrate....how else? With sushi! And of course everyone on here keeps talking about how great Sushi Palace is...so away we went. First off, this place is teeny, but in a cute way, not a crowded way. We arrived early--around 4:30--and three or four other tables were already full. The woman gave us a table and handed us our menu so we could make our choices--and WOW, were there a lot!!! We decided only to get edamame as an appetizer...and of course a bottle of sake. Both were very tasty, and the edamame was nice and fresh. Next we made our sushi choices(they had two itamaes working too when we got there--and one more on hand when we left!) . For right now, we are sticking to rolls since the boy is new to sushi--and I don't want to gross him out by eating sushi and sashimi in front of him. We ended up getting the shrimp tempura roll, the pink lady, crunchy eel, and two spicy tuna rolls. They were SOOO yummy and super fresh--yes, even for a Monday, fellow yelpers! I was proud of the boy too---the pink lady and the spicy tuna was his first tasting of raw and he really enjoyed them. We did manage dessert--the green tea ice cream is delicious. Everyone that works there is super gracious and just lets you enjoy your sushi without constantly interrupting you. This place is SO worth it!!!!! I've already started recommending it to people! The food and customer service absolutely earn this place 5 stars. When I placed my order, I mentioned that I have a gluten allergy, so she told me she would separate the eel my boyfriend was getting from the rest of the order because that contained gluten. Without prompting, she repeated my order back to me to make sure it was correct. The place doesn't look like much from the outside. The parking lot is a bit precarious and not easy to maneuver in, so next time I think I'll stick to street parking. I love the contraption that they built into the door for picking up orders. It has a little slot for their credit card machine, and a big area for the food to be passed through with a door that opens from inside the restaurant where the staff is. It was quick and safe/clean. The food alone was worth 5 stars. The rolls were substantially bigger than most places. No 1 inch wide rolls with mostly rice here. They were huge and stuffed. The fish was exceptional. So fresh. So soft that it was practically creamy. I would describe the tuna as "pillowy." The colors were beautiful and vibrant. The mango in my roll was ripe, and the avocado was perfectly ripe-- not underripe/hard and not brown. My boyfriend actually yelled "oh my God!!" when he bit into the eel sushi.
