    Geisha roll with garlic sauce

There were so many unique sushi roll options along with many other food options. The fish was fresh and flavors were great. Our kids loved it! The staff was amazing and attentive toward us and the children. It is smaller inside so I recommend making a reservation if it's a busier time or day. These rolls were the Geisha (add garlic sauce) and moonlight. The other may have been California Morning and Green Valley. All were delicious.

Every single time I've gone, the food is amazing 10/10 especially their deep fried rolls. Their plates are also pretty good !! The service is great, ambiance is great as well. They're super welcoming when you go inside!!

The place is small but the food is delicious the rolls are hearty and the food is also a good size serving. The dinner bento box is about 16 dollars for two items and 20 for three items. The food is tasty and the staff is very friendly. We got a dinner box and two rolls

We've been coming back for many to-go & dining-in since. The restaurant is a little more spacious, which is great for our family. The staff is always friendly, I like that they offer you edamame and water as soon as you sit down. The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious, and we love that they're open all day. It also seems like they offer additional menu options and specials compared to other locations, which has been a nice surprise and we have some new favorites! Lately we've also enjoyed watching the World Cup while having dinner. Great food, great service and atmosphere.

Typically the service is okay, but this past Saturday (valentines day) stood out to me! My boyfriend and I stopped by around 8:15pm with no reservation, but were seated promptly. Our server Dalia (I can't quiet remember her name unfortunately) was an absolute pleasure! She was extremely polite, accommodating & quick with service. I ordered the Avo Crunch & Amigo roll, both were so yummy and filling!! My boyfriend got the dinner special and enjoyed the beef teriyaki, but wasn't a huge fan of the chicken katsu. This is a very relaxed casual dining experience, don't expect anything too fancy. I love to see the recent improvement in service and will definitely be back for more tasty sushi rolls!

Ambiance: very bright, we dined in, not too noisy and plenty of help was offered. Good place to go on birthday for discreet celebration. suggestion: split sushi rolls and uncut sushi rolls for take out, and more main course options. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. There is a large beautiful mural on one of the walls that really stands out. We started with a tempura mix appetizer. This is the first time I have had tempura veggies that were soggy. Not crunchy at all, which took away from the taste and experience. The dipping sauce also lacked flavor. For my dish, I ordered their salmon teriyaki and crunch roll lunch. It came with miso soup, salad, and rice. The miso soup was good. The salad dressing was delicious. The salmon was unfortunately overcooked and a bit stiff. The rice was dry too and not the typical sushi rice that I am used to, so that took away from the tastiness of the meal. The crunch roll was not my favorite. The sauce drizzled on top was spicy, but I did like it. There was not much of a crunch for a crunch roll. I unfortunately did not have a great experience with the food as some items were soggy or dry and they are not supposed to be. The salad dressing and miso soup were the tastiest items I tried.

The prices were right in line with what you'd expect for a hibachi restaurant, so we felt we got great value for the money. I also appreciated that they serve drinks in large soda cups--a small touch, but one I really liked. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely polite from start to finish. Our hibachi chef was funny, engaging, and did a great job with both the cooking and the entertainment. He made our anniversary dinner even more enjoyable. The only thing that surprised me was how empty the restaurant was. After our experience, I honestly think they deserve more business. If you're looking for good hibachi in Salinas with generous portions, solid prices, and excellent service, I'd definitely recommend giving Fujiyama a try. We'll absolutely be back!

Parking was only mildly challenging, as a space opened up after only a single lap around the block. Inside here, you'll find a busy place with a few tables and individual bar-style (partitioned!) paired seating along the walls adjacent to the kitchen in the middle part of the restaurant. Order up at the self-serve order kiosks, tap in your table/counter number, and they bring out your order in a couple of minutes. We had six of us in our party, and most of us kept it simple by ordering the default Tonkatsu Ramen with different customizable options. Most all of the ingredients in this order were on point - The Chasu Pork Belly was tender, thick and delicious, ramen noodles nothing special, but generally stil on point, as were the bamboo shoots. However, the co-star/centerpiece of the Tonkatsu Ramen other than the Chasu Pork slab should be the broth, but sadly the broth was far far TOO salty which overpowered the other flavors in the broth. Chasu Pork 4.8/5, Tonkatsu Ramen 3.1/5. Service was good as everyone was hustling hard in the kitchen, along with attentive bussers/waitstaff to quickly turn tables. They take good care in wiping down the tables here. If I return, I'll just get the Paitan Ramen like I did in years past, as that seemed less salty. Then again the Paitan soup base begins with the same chicken+pork soup base as the Tonkatsu Ramen. I hope Toribashi will step back up to their former glory.
