A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO LYN L., one of my favorite Yelpers in the world, for recommending Sushi Queen! To be honest, we were a bit skeptical in trying this place out, as AYCE sushi places are always a miss - the thought of paying a bargain price and assuming you'll receive fresh maki/sashimi is not realistic! Boy, were we pleasant surprised! We were seated promptly, and they provide you the AYCE menu that's double-sided - the offerings are pretty extensive, as they have soup, salad, various apps, entrees, sushi/sashimi, basic and specialty rolls, kid options, and desserts. We came here a few times already, and have tried: +the Crab Rangoon - one of our favorite apps, these are bite-sized and the wonton wrapper is thin and crispy; always comes out freshly fried! +the Shrimp Tempura - the panko-like batter is too thick for our taste +the Black Pepper Tuna - was not a fan +the Yellowtail Jalapeno - was not a fan +the Beef Fried Rice - not worth ordering, as it was just bland rice with egg +the Beef Yakisoba Noodles - not worth ordering, as it had a weird chemical-like taste to it +the Hibachi Steak - lots of veggies and cubed steak; the flavors are on point, and they don't skimp out on the yum yum sauce! +the Hibachi Shrimp - large deveined shrimp; veggies are tasty, and the flavors are good! +the California Roll - loved the large avocado slices in there; rice could be more consistent, as one time, it was cooked properly, and on another visit, the rice was mushy/wet +the Spicy California Roll - this was an inaccurate order, as we had ordered another roll; however, it was fine +the Spicy Tuna Roll - extremely spicy, compared to the other basic spicy makis! +the Spicy Yellowtail Roll - pretty fresh and tasty; rice could be inconsistent +the Spicy Salmon Roll - pretty fresh and tasty; rice could be inconsistent +and, the vanilla ice cream (comes in a small cup) for dessert Service could be a hit-or-miss; on our first visit, our server was on point and checked up on us frequently, taking plates away and putting new orders in. On the next few visits, we had to waive down another service, as our assigned served was no where to be found. You can definitely get your money's worth here, especially with the specific items you order - Definitely a good repeat of a restaurant if you're craving for some hibachi and simple makis! Ample parking in the large parking lot. +crab rangoon +hibachi +makis +ample seating +plenty of parking

Ran on for a quick meal at 11:00am. Doors were open. Host seated us right away. Our server was at our table to take drink orders, pass out wasabi and soy sauce. She quickly took our orders. I like the food runners and their quick delivery. Our appetizers arrived piping hot. My go-to dish is their steak hibachi. Veggies are always crisp and the steak is hot.

My first time at Sushi Queen was last Wednesday night and it wasn't busy at all. There are plenty of comfortable seating and I enjoyed the low lighting and ambiance compared to other AYCE places I've been to. The service was amazing and quick. Mylene took care of us and was friendly and efficient. Everything we had was delicious: miso soup, crab rangoons, hibachi steak/shrimp, beef gyoza dumplings, and several rolls. I just wish the sashimi/sushi section on the menu was included in the AYCE price. Overall, it is a great place to dine!

I've been coming to Sushi Queen for a few years now. It's worth the drive for me and my family for better quality, fresh, made to order sushi. The place is definitely large enough to fit a variety of sizes no matter what size your group is. The staff is always friendly. Out of everything I've ordered over the years, there may have been one roll I haven't liked. But honestly, you can't beat the price. My only constructive criticism for Sushi Queen, and mostly many sushi places, is the inconsistency of oversaucing the special rolls. I know I'm nitpicking. It won't stop me from still coming.

Avocado salad left, kani salad right. Different and very tasty

Tried this place after a friend recommended it. I was apprehensive because of the "all you can eat". I was pleasantly surprised though. The sushi was not as good as my favorite places but it was better than expected. I was hoping for smaller portions, not full rolls, since it was all you can eat. That was I could try more things without over eating or wasting. We tried several things. The avocado salad and Kani salad, both very good. Vegetable tempura, also excellent. For sushi we tried the Fredericksburg, Richmond, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Sushi Queen, Lucky, and Alaskan rolls. The Las Vegas roll was good but sooooo heavy and a little rich, especially with the mayo on top. Favorite was the Sushi Queen and Fredericksburg rolls. Looking forward to trying hibachi and some other rolls in the future. Service was excellent, waitress was very attentive.

Ambiance: Casual. Typical Asian buffet decor. We were in a booth seat and it is very tight, the back is stiff and since there is not much room, it is not comfortable. Reminds me of the economy seat in airlines If you would like a bit more room, request a regular table. Service: Overall friendly and attentive. But we waited for 15 minutes after being seated to be initially served. There might have been miscommunication with notifying waitstaff of our new table. Luckily we were seated within eyesight of the reception desk where someone spotted us looking for service, who then promptly helped us to locate our waitstaff. This place is huge and there wasn't many waitstaff in sight on the floor. Our waitstaff was attentive. She came by every so often to check-in, ask if we're ready for another round of order, and refill water. Food: Definitely quantity vs. quality. Most sushi rolls are average, the craftsmanship (sushi is not rolled tightly and intact), fish is less chill in temperature. Some might have been prepared in advance as they came out almost immediately after the order was placed. A few items to highlight: - Shrimp Tempura was not breaded with Panko breading, it taste like the Italian branded shrimp rather than Tempura - Hibachi Steak was delicious. Cube steak was freshly stirred fried with just the right amount of seasoning - Volcano Roll, Fredericksburg Roll were made fresh and delicious

On way to Leesburg, VA and kiddo was craving an all you can eat place like we have in Fredericksburg... came across Sushi Queen. Menu price is reasonable for all you can eat. During our visit our waitress was super attentive! The food also came out very quickly. Place was wide open, mix of tables and booths and a relaxed environment. Can't compare these types of places to fancy sushi places but we highly enjoyed all that we got while here.

$25 all you can eat sushi. It's hard to find an AYCE place for this price in the DMV. This place is always popping, I would recommend coming to sushi queen around when they open, the wait is always out the door the rest of the time. The workers will ask you at some point to leave so they can get more guests seated. The service is great, we always get servers that take our orders quickly. The food also comes out quickly. As someone who doesn't eat a lot of sushi, I think the quality of food here is very good. I like the spicy rolls the most (don't worry, they are usually not that spicy), my personal favorites being the sea angel and orchard roll. They also have other items, not just sushi. They have hibachi, appetizers and desserts. My favorite not sushi item is the black pepper tuna. There are signs at the booths letting you know you'll be charged for leftover food, so order the amount of food you can reasonably eat.

My friend introduced me to this place and I was very excited to try a spot with AYCE sushi where they prepare the rolls for you. It's about $25 per person which is a pretty good deal if you ask me. I've been here a few times and have brought my son along with me and he loves it. Great place for your kiddos. Every time I've visited I'm sat right away, the restaurant is spacious offering plenty of seating. The options on the menu are endless. They offer non sushi items such as Kani salad, dumplings, hibachi, etc. Tons of options for sushi such as nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and speciality rolls. Our waiter was super friendly and fast on this visit. He instantly took our drink/food orders. The place was packed and they had a lot of tables to wait on but our waiter was super attentive and always checked on us. We started off with: Kani salad - it was delicious, never disappoints. Jalapeño yellow tail - this was okay, the mayo threw me off, wouldn't try it again. Had a nice kick to it tho! Crab Rangoon - yum! Nice small portion to split. Nigiri - as you can see we love our nigiri, the salmon is tasty! Also make sure to try the white tuna is soo good! We went in on ordering the specialty rolls. They hit the spot. It's not the best quality sushi I've had but for the price it's a steal. I would definitely recommend sushi queen to all the sushi lovers out there.

Sushi King now called Sushi Queen presents a unique experience for its customers. This is an all you can eat establishment where all the food is made to order. I was pleasantly surprised that the sushi was premade and kept in a buffet area. I think that is what makes this restaurant special. The Sushi Queen menu explicitly states that the customer will be charged for any food leftover. This rule is to obviously prevent customers from abusing the "all you can eat" theme and causing food waste from over ordering. I might know someone that brought their own container to this establishment and packed their own leftovers to avoid being charged....not naming any names though :) Favorite sushi recommendation: Orchard roll Staff here are friendly and courteous. All our requests like bringing an extra side of ginger and wasabi were swiftly met. Our food came out quickly and prices were really affordable ($25 per person). I would definitely come back here again!

Good deal as a AYCE. There's a lot of options and food comes pretty quick. Quality is normal, but considering the price, this is acceptable.

Ask the Community - Sushi Queen

    Is there a time limit?

We have been many times and no time limit.

Do they still have AYCE? If so, what are the prices?

Yes they only have AYCE and I believe it is $23.99, though could be $24.99. It is a very good restaurant and I highly recommend.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes

Can you choose any roll for the all you can eat sushi? Even special rolls?

    Yes

How much is Lunch on weekdays?

I just called them and apparently it's $21.99, same as dinner pricing now.

Are they still offering AYCE during COVID? How is it being managed?

Yes, their methods haven't changed at all. It's still all you can eat for $20.99, and your server will keep coming back to your table to put in additional orders for you.

I read my last review of this place over 2 years ago and chuckled. Even back then (just coming out of covid) I was complaining about these same things - price increase and shrinkflation. And to think I thought $22 for 2 teriyaki chicken meals was too much! This weekend I paid $19 for ONE, count 'em ONE, chicken teriyaki meal, granted with double meat. What in the world was I complaining about 2+ years ago, amiright?! lol Then why keep coming here, you ask? Well, sometimes you have to cave in when the teriyaki craving hits you. We come out to the mall eatery when we're in the area running errands. The eatery has surprisingly rebounded and appears to be reconstituting its offerings although the mall itself, post-covid, remains a sad and sorry shell of its former self. #sadface Back to Sarku...No complaints at all about the taste, freshness and quality of the teriyaki chicken. A container full of sizzling, piping hot and fresh grilled meat right from watching it get expertly grilled right before your own eyes - CAN'T GET MORE FRESH THAN THAT. The "chef" working the grill honestly is a pro. We remember him when he first started wayyyyy back in the day (well before covid) - "apprenticing" under the prev "chef". This guy is good - he apprenticed well lol. He's fast, efficient and knows how to crank out multiple orders at once. Frankly, he single-handedly keeps this place running like a top. (Give this guy a raise....or part ownership of the business because he's the one keeping this place alive and kicking.) So, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WITH SARKU'S FOOD QUALITY. Our go-to order now is to order 1 ENTREE WITH DOUBLE MEAT. It's definitely a better deal and IT'S ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE TO SHARE - especially if you're not ravenous. Check out my pic and vid of our double meat order. You'll see what I mean. ANOTHER TIP: no matter that we no longer frequent this place much anymore (due to how expensive it's become for "fast food"), we still keep a FREQUENT DINER CARD on hand and use it when we go/order - it's worth getting a free entree for every 6 you order - so if you're not doing that (especially if you do go here regularly or order multiple entrees in a single visit), get a card from the cashier and start getting your entrees stamped and earning a free meal. The cards never expire and are not location specific so even better if you frequent different Sarku locations. As I said, we don't go out of our way to go to this Sarku or any other location because of how pricey it is. Sarku has continued to steadily jack up their prices AND have made their containers smaller and smaller and smaller (so they can make you feel like they've generously stuffed your box full of food - clever! ...not). Their other menu items might be better value but I seriously doubt it and I don't think I would trust sushi made at a fast food carryout joint anyway. So, for all these reasons, we only go when we're in the area of the mall AND have a craving for teriyaki chicken.

The superfood rolls resemble a Vietnamese summer roll with lettuce, mint, shredded carrots, cucumber, quinoa and avocado and came with a mayonnaise based dipping sauce. The Larb was finely ground white chicken in the spicy lime sauce served over lettuce with red onions, green onions and cilantro. I liked the Superfood rolls and would order them again, though the mayonnaise based sauce was not what I was hoping for. Maybe because I had summer rolls on my brain, a fish sauce based dipping sauce was what I was craving. The Larb, on the other hand, was as good as any I've ever had. It was delightfully spicy, zingy with lime, with crisp lettuce and onions it also had fantastic texture. If I have any desired change I'd ask for a bit more cilantro, but this is in the very fine adjustment category. I might order this every time. Takeout mid day was good and quick and I will definitely be back.
