D49. Chicken Spicy Miso Ramen Dinner
    Ritvik N.

Okada is a Pretty decent Japanese restaurant that serves Sushi and Ramen. I stopped by on a winter weekend while visiting the One Loudoun area. I ordered the D49. Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen Dinner as I came at 3 PM which was a little after the dinner hours. It was pretty good. Came with bamboo shoots, seaweed, and boiled egg and the spicy chili sauce on the side. I asked for it on side as I wanted to experience the taste w/o spice and then add it myself if needed. Overall, it was pretty tasty. Nothing outstanding, but maybe my taste buds weren't functioning. It was not bad overall, and was filling as I hadn't a proper breakfast even. I would rate it 7/10. Not bad, and the cost for dine-in was a little over $20, which wasn't bad but not cheap either. For the service, I'll give it a pass. Overall, impressed with this Japanese restaurant and hopefully will be back to try something else on the menu, if I find myself in the One Loudoun area again.

A friend and I stopped by one day for lunch to catch up. I've been eyeing this restaurant, but hadn't had a chance to try them. I was really happy to finally be able to try their food! The restaurant only had a handful of customers dining in, and it was fairly quiet and relaxed. Service was good: our orders were taken quickly, our food came out fast and the server was polite and patient. I did run out of water once, and it took a minute for the server to refill my glass up. It was not that big of a deal though. My friend is on a limited meat diet, so we always go somewhere with a good variety of vegetarian-friendly dishes. Okada had pretty good selection of these dishes. We ordered age-dashi tofu to start, chicken katsu bento for me and veggie shoyu ramen for her. I'm not a tofu fan, but I did try it and it was okay. The chicken katsu bento was delicious. I was between a ramen and a bento. The bento was perfect. I needed the crunch of the chicken katsu, and I wanted to eat rice. My friend enjoyed her ramen. She said she had been craving ramen, and her veggie shoyu ramen hit the spot. Overall, solidly good dining experience. I would definitely be back again when I have a hankering for Japanese food.

This hit the spot for my gal pal and I! We will definitely visit again when in town. Pros -Clean, spacious, beautifully decorated restaurant -Service was very friendly and attentive -We ordered some sushi and the ramen. The sushi was fresh and displayed nicely. Ramen was on point with a flavorful broth -Lots of choices with sushi and loved the lychee martini drink!! Cons -parking maybe difficult to find on street but there is a nearby parking lot

I came here with my husband, for a date night. We had the peach sake which was outstanding. Ordered the calamari rings and the shrimp tempura Roll (Fried shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and eel sauce) as starters. As entrees we tried their signature ramen. The ramen broth is thick and full of savory tastes. I was astonished at how delicious this was. I subsituted the seafood miso ramen with just shrimp. My husband had Chashu Pork Miso Ramen. Both dishes were well balanced. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was wonderful. Very impressed with this place, a bit pricy but I'd say it's worth it. Everything here is top tier and I highly recommend. The staff was professional and friendly. Also I need to note the place was immaculately clean. We are definitely coming back!

This restaurant is located in One Loudon. The area is vibrant with a bunch is restaurants and bars. This restaurant has a nice vibe to it. Our server was great and very attentive. And it was easy to get a reservation on a Friday night. The menu is extensive. There are many vegetarian options, including vegetarian sushi rolls. They also have a kids menu which was great. Here is what I ordered: - Garlic Edamame: this was way too spicy for me. I wish I had ordered the regular ones. - Vegetable Dumplings: I wasn't sure if they had vegetarian dumplings, so I asked the server. She said they did and I could get it either fried or steamed. I chose the fried option and absolutely loved it. - Vegetable Maki Sushi: there are 4-5 vegetarian sushi options. Most of them are single vegetable ones. But there is one combination roll. I loved this. I do wish they had more vegetarian sushi options like tempura roll, or allowed for a custom option. Overall, loved this place. There is something for everyone. My husband loved his non-vegetarian rolls. We will definitely be coming back.

I've been a frequent flyer here for some time. I usually take my team here for lunch. I've always had a good experience. Service is great, my water cup is always filled and they check on the table often. Today my buddy and I decided to go for some ramen. We started off with the Agedashi Tofu which had a crispy exterior and soft tofu inside. We both got the Chashu Spicy Miso Ramen. I added kimchi to my order and omitted the red ginger. I've had many dishes besides the ramen here and haven't had a bad meal. Highly recommend this place if you're in Ashburn.

We came for dinner. The place was not very crowded and we were seated promptly. We ordered within 10 minutes and food took a good 20 minutes to arrive. The service was decent and they were able to accommodate our gluten and dairy allergies. The food had good presentation but I'd give them a 3.5 on taste. We got a veg miso ramen, a spicy chicken ramen, a veggie hibachi and a sesame chicken meal. Net net not a bad experience although the food is very pricey for the taste and quantity.

Okada has been of the closest experiences I've gotten to sushi from Japan. The taste is really authentic,no doubt about it. I went after work on a Friday and was relieved to find the place not at all packed like I was anticipating. We got sat immediately and ordered a warm sake to get started. For food we ordered sake, (or salmon sushi), gator roll, and a waterfall roll (has mango). It was all delicious, specially the salmon sushi. It tasted so fresh! I've been here before and have also tried the spicy chicken ramen, another good choice. The place does not disappoint, so will continue to come here for authentic Japanese food.

A lot of the NoVA hibachi spots aren't open for lunch on the weekends. We chose Sakura Grill because it was one of the few that were. We came for a Sunday lunch and it was nearly empty. Service was pleasant, but the hibachi chef did the bare minimum. We started with a couple appetizers - the crab rangoons, takoyaki, and an eel roll. All were satisfactory and brought out quickly, but noticeably absent from the takoyaki were the bonito flakes. I will commend the restaurant for being mindful of dietary restrictions. We had someone in our party who requested no onions in their hibachi, and the chef was able to accommodate without any issues. We also had someone who ordered the vegetable hibachi, and the staff asked whether that diner was a vegetarian and advised that the hibachi meals came with shrimp. Another plus was that they had a sink in the dining area to wash your hands. As for the hibachi presentation, the chef lit the grill on fire, spun the spatulas around at the intro, tossed the egg up and down a few times, did the onion volcano (though poorly executed), and attempted to throw a piece of zucchini into our mouths. There was an option for a sake shot from a squeeze bottle, but we all declined. The chef relied on a few gimmicks - a silly squirt bottle and a clucking rubber chicken. He didn't have a lot of showmanship or pizazz or any wow factor. The chef wasn't very engaging - he might as well have cooked the food in the back kitchen. This was my brother-in-law's first time at a hibachi restaurant, but the lack of razzle-dazzle in the cooking did not impress and left something to be desired. I ordered the filet mignon hibachi. Each hibachi meal comes with a small house salad and hibachi soup (mushroom based broth with fried onions). You can also swap out for the miso soup, if you like. The filet mignon was nice and tender. I could've done with more flavor, but I guess that's what the dipping sauces are for. One of my favorite things about going to a hibachi place is the fried rice. This fried rice was average, and the veggies were also average... everything was average. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff were kind enough to sing happy birthday twice - once from the hibachi chef with the onion volcano and once from the waitstaff with a festive drum and tambourine. I will credit the waitstaff for providing effective service, but the food and hibachi experience were pretty mid overall.

However, they do a good takeout business, as we noticed several people come in to pick up their orders. Before coming here, we looked at their menu. Thus, we knew what we wanted when we got here. Service was great. The staff here is friendly and efficient. Our server checked on us more than once during our meal. To drink, my husband ordered a Kirin Light beer while I ordered a glass of plum wine. Some Japanese places fill the glass too high, but here, the portion size was reasonable. I ordered "the poke bowl". I chose salmon for my fish. This bowl consists of "Sushi-grade fish topped with vegetables, mixed with poke sauce over a choice of mixed greens or rice". I chose the rice. Before coming here, I looked up "poke sauce." I found a website called "pokebowlny.com." This is the description they gave: "traditional poke sauce blends soy sauce, sesame oil, and often rice vinegar, along with aromatics like garlic and ginger. This classic combination makes the fish taste fresher, the vegetables more vibrant, and the rice more flavorful." The vegetables in the bowl were kernel corn, seaweed salad, and cucumbers. I really enjoyed having this meal! All the flavors worked well together. I look forward to having it again. Along with the poke bowl, a bowl of miso soup is included. That, too, was quite good, and it came to the table quite warm. My husband ordered "Tuna Don," which consists of "fresh tuna sashimi over rice & vegetables. His entrée came with both miso soup and a small side salad. The bowl had a big slice of radish, some seaweed salad, and the usual shredded daikon. The wasabi was really spicy - he could feel it in his nose and sinus cavity - it'll take your head off. The generous portion of tuna was large with thicker slices than he'd ever seen before.
