The fish was so fresh and absolutely delicious! We came on a really hot day, and it was the perfect spot for a light, refreshing meal. I especially loved the fruit paired with the sushi--it added the perfect touch. The service was so warm and kind, which made the experience even better. Everything from the food to the atmosphere left us happy, and I honestly couldn't recommend this place more. We'll definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I decided to make a pit stop at Sushi Ran since we were passing through Sausalito, and we loved it. Service is very polite and attentive- we enjoyed everything we ordered thoroughly. The fish here is so fresh and the cuts are prepared so skillfully. I ordered the premium sushi, and my boyfriend got the sushi plate and salmon citrus roll. I loved everything! From the plating to the fish itself, dining here is an experience that can't be replicated with takeout sushi. It's no surprise that this place is on the Michelin Guide. I would love to visit again and try more items on their menu. The server we had was very knowledgeable about sushi and gave her recommendations based on our preferences.

We had a saturday dinner reserved for our anniversary. Greeted warmly and seated immediately outside (Theres indoor and outdoor seating). The entire staff seemed joyful and polite. We ordered the kaisen futo-maki, chicken karage, and premium sushi plate. Loved each item so much and everything came out in a timely manner despite the place being busy. Every dish seemed elevated and better quality than other sushi places, which made the price worth it. We were also given a free scoop of vanilla ice cream and almond chocolate to end the night! We cant wait to come back to try the omakase.

We were visiting our friends who live in Sausalito and were excited to try this place they recommended. We had a wonderful evening. We enjoyed meeting the owner Yoshi who shared his story and let us try a couple sake options. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The miso cod was a big hit and was cooked perfectly. We sat on the patio with heaters and felt very warm in late April. Happy to support this small business and we would recommend to others!

What an experience to dine at the bar for dinner service at Sushi Ran! I recommend making a reservation as the restaurant filled up pretty quickly despite our early dinner slot. The chef is detailed in his craft. I loved watching him put together the sashimi platter, adorning the fish with shiso, kelp, and sunomono. To drink, I tried the gluten free beer which I don't often see on menus, and was pleasantly surprised at how crisp and refreshing the taste was. We ordered a variety of sushi and also hot foods to try. We enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered. Looking back, I'm not sure if I had complaints about any particular one. I think the agedashi tofu is artfully done. I'm a long time ageda fan, while my boyfriend is iffy on it, but this one he thoroughly enjoyed. The fried fish with the house-made tartar sauce was a great appetizer to start off the meal. As for the fish, very fresh and quality. It was fun pairing the different sashimi with the variety of accoutrements like the shiso, lemon, and kelp. Service was fantastic as well. Overall, a lovely dinner experience and I would recommend others to visit Sushi Ran.

We had the salmon and scallops rolls, seaweed salad, steamed broccoli, and dopin soup. All of it was outstanding! It was so fresh! The dopin soup was my favorite and the seaweed salad was my friend's favorite! The umami flavor of the soup was so unique and tasty!

I didn't walk, I ran as fast as I could. Sushi ran left a lasting memory. The fish was so fresh, and the herbs they added to the sushi rolls complimented very well. We ordered the premium sushi, and it was worth it! The nigiri was fatty and soft and was our favorite. Overall, definitely a place to stop by!

We had a lovely dinner with a special visit from the owner Yoshi. The food was spectacular with my favorite being the Crunch roll and Blackened Miso Cod. The sushi was fresh and they had a huge (9 pages) saki list. Yoshi listened to our tastes and suggested a wonderful saki to accompany our meal. Very nice evening all around.

Visiting Sausalito made us want some fish and sushi. We ordered two rolls, tempura, miso soup, and some tea. The miso soup and tea really hit the spot. The tempura was alright but the sushi disappointed a bit more than expected. The meat slices in the sushi were so thin it barely felt like we were eating meat. The service was fast and we got sat down quickly but I think the portions of fish to sushi need to be looked at! There were outside and inside seats when we were there, it was near downtown and had a nice ambiance.

Sushi Ran is a Japanese restaurant serving rolls, nigiri&sashimi, sushi, small plates, salads, soups, tempura, and hot protein selections with Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. AMBIANCE Zen, modern interior with covered exterior seating, also under a canopy SERVICE Welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive FOOD 5/5 Miso Black Cod: super tender, grilled crisp, with a sweet and savory miso glaze. Every bite was heaven and the aromas were fragrant. The sautéed spinach and shimeji mushrooms were tender and had a smoky flavor. Rice is perfect. Presentation was also a plus. 5/5 asari miso: tender manilla clams in a savory miso broth with green onions 4/5 Agedashi Tofu: hot, deep fried w/ ginger, green onion, daikon, nori & bonito flake. The savory side of broth gives the tofu a much needed flavor boost. PARKING Limited street and backside lot parking

Cute sushi spot in downtown Sausalito! Sushi Ran has been on my list for a while and finally got to try it for my friend's birthday. We sat in the patio and our server handled our party of 10 very well. I ordered the premium sushi set which came with 6 nigiri (and a chef's choice roll). The nigiri was very fresh and tasty and loved all the toros! We had a variety of appetizers and some of my faves were chicken karaage, shrimp and basil dumplings and Brussels sprouts.

My fiancé booked omakase dinner here for my birthday and it was an amazing experience. Chef Eli was so nice and was a pleasure to talk to throughout our dinner. We enjoyed the setup of the experience. We booked 5:15pm and there was one other couple. So that was one chef per party which I think worked out well since we didn't feel rushed and they were pretty attentive. The omakase set was 18 course for $185 which we thought was fair, and we were stuffed at the end. It was about a 2 hour experience and everything was paced well. Everything was delicious. Some of my favorites were the toro and caviar, amaebi, uni, kohada, and toro hand roll. Chef gave me extra uni for my birthday which was so nice of him. He also shared that he actually made the pecan mochi cake for the menu which was a perfect end to dinner. Not too sweet and the textures worked nicely together. Sushi Ran rotates some of the offerings on the omakase menu every week. The firefly squid was a new addition for our day's tasting menu which was also new in general for us. Fiancé and I have been to a handful of omakase places so it's nice when we find out about new fishes/seafood. Sushi Ran definitely gets packed and they have lots of indoor/outdoor seating. Their regular menu looks pretty good too. Thank you for a wonderful birthday dinner!

Is the sushi bar reopened yet? I'm looking for a true nigiri experience without having to cross the bridge?

Yes I went a couple of months ago and people were sitting at the bar.

    Are Pets allowed?

Yes, at their outdoor patio area

If i order one order of sushi, is it two pieces or one piece?

You order by the piece , the roll or the experience

Are you taking reservations for dinner?? I've tried calling, no one answers.

They should. I just made my reservation.

Can they cook all the raw meat part? Since I don't eat raw meat?

Yes, but just don't get sushi or sashimi then. I believe they have some fish that are cooked in their menu. Please don't ask them to cook the sushi or sashimi! That would be almost rude. :)

    Omakase price per person?

    $90

Is the sushi bar first come first served? Can I make a reservation on Open Table and just request…

You need a reservation for the sushi bar.

    Are reservations recommended?

Recommendations better for peak lunch and dinner hours. Weekdays are easier w/o them but weekends best to get recommendations. Enjoy! Food is awesome!!

Matt had been talking about Brazilian steakhouse every time he saw something that reminded him remotely of Fogo de Chao, so I figured this opportunity might be of interest to him. Come to find out that the day after I make the reservation he asks if I'd be willing to go a Brazilian steakhouse for the long weekend, so I got to surprise him with the fact that I already had a reservation. I'm not the biggest fan of Fogo de Chao based on my prior experiences there. I do believe that I have been to a Show de Carnes location before and had another great experience, but also Show de Carnes's Memorial Day promotion was slightly better than Fogo's and I much preferred that their location was outside of the city even if on the other side of the bridge. I did have to call the morning of to delay our reservation slightly, but it was taken care of for us without hassle. We even got seated closer to the original reservation time when we ended up running early. There isn't much space to wait in the front lobby area especially on a packed night, but everything looks very upscale from the wine bottles on the wall to the crystals above the self-serve side buffet. As far as mandatory meats, I have a couple of personal rules when it comes to Brazilian steakhouse, including go light on the sides and only go for the beef. Picanha is my favorite, extra rare too, so I made myself a whole pincanha meat salad while probably giving the guy cutting the meat a good scare. The grilled pineapple is also a must, followed by the cheese and honey. Matt got a lot more variety but it takes a while for the guys to come around with meat that has already been sliced up some so I can get to the parts that I like. We got a papaya cream and passion fruit mousse for dessert, which we probably really didn't need but enjoyed thoroughly as we are both dessert people. As it was a busy night, it was not too easy to flag a server down. I saw picanhas skip our table left and right so I'm not sure there's an established route for them to bring the meat around. The staff did seem to work together with great teamwork, and someone always stopped by to make sure we had more water and our choice of sides. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that is a protein or all you can eat fan. The regular price per person is definitely steep in my humble opinion, but if you can catch a promo it'll be a great time. Also, don't choose between still or sparkling, ask for tap. I will not be getting got again next time.

After being seated and given menus, we waited another 10 min with no service, and I decided to walk in and wash my hands. On my way out of the restroom, the server was finishing chatting with the only customer inside of the restaurant. I asked if we could have some water brought to the table, and she nodded. 5 min or so after I asked her for the water, the customer who was inside was walking out, and we chatted for a bit. Come to find out the sushi chefs and kitchen staff were not available due to the traffic on the freeway. I was in the same traffic, and I knew it was really bad. That was not the issue. The server never came out to our table. She never told us what was going on. We were left hanging for almost 20 min with zero contact, other than dropping the menus, and requesting waters that we never recieved. At an empty restaurant. There was no notice posted out front, there was nothing said from the server. If I was stopping in during a lunch break, I would not have been able to dine elsewhere due to the time I wasted sitting at this place waiting for service. All it took was for the server to let us know the situation and I would have tried to come back some other time.
