This was our first time dining here, and my initial impression was that the restaurant is beautifully put together. Since it was our first visit, we decided to order a variety of dishes so we could get a good feel for the menu. The *Dynamite Shrimp* was a solid choice and definitely worth ordering. The *Yakitori Chicken* came with two skewers and was good, although I personally would have loved the chicken to be a bit juicier. The undisputed star of the table, however, was the *Shaggy Dog roll*. Absolutely delicious!! If I return for nothing else, I'm coming back for that. We also tried the *Chicken Katsu Lunch* with the soup option. Overall, it was a pretty good meal. The chicken itself was fried beautifully! Crispy on the outside and cooked well. I learned during this visit that I'm apparently more of a light gravy on my katsu kind of person vs the sauce they provided, but that's just personal preference. The *Roll Combo A* was another great choice and offered a nice variety of rolls. Out of the three, the shrimp tempura roll was our favorite. And finally, the *Lavender Rise* drink deserves its own moment. My goodness. It was light, refreshing, and had just the right amount of sweetness. I'll definitely be back for another one of those... and a Shaggy Dog roll while I'm at it. Service was friendly throughout our visit. I will say this seems to be one of those restaurants where you're given plenty of space while dining, so if you prefer frequent check-ins from your server, that's something to keep in mind. Personally, the overall experience felt very relaxed and chill, which fit the vibe of the restaurant well. Overall, this was a pleasant first visit. While some of the dishes didn't quite surpass some of our favorite sushi spots in the area, there were definitely a few standout items that would bring us back. The competition for great sushi is tough, but this restaurant certainly has some menu items worth returning for.

I always love trying new places. This did not disappoint! I liked it so much, I came in back to back nights. The Waygu bites for an app and the Hamaki Rolls with the Steak Tataki rolls were amazing. Both nights I had great service at the bar, and its a super cool area to visit. I'll be back for sure!

Signature nigiri (yellowtail, red snapper, salmon, snow crab)

For the spicy mango cocktail to the signature nigiri (all 4), the flavors match the decor, everything is just divine. Madai being a favorite of mine, my favorite bite was the signature red snapper, however each bite of signature nigiri was tastefully topped, savory, and melt in my mouth delicious. The yellowtail had a punch of citrus, the snow crab was the most decadent, and...now I just sound like I'm describing the flavors of truffles in the chocolate box. Although this spot is pricey, it's well worth it in the occasion you're looking to treat yourself or another! Next time I come for lunch, I'll bring a friend!

Stumbled upon this place while searching for restaurants in the area. The reviews were really good so I decided to check it out. Upon entry I was impressed with the aesthetics and decor of the restaurant, it definitely gives high class vibes. It's intimate, relaxing and all of the employees appeared so calm. No hustle and bustle here... We arrived during happy hour which offers discounted sushi rolls and drinks. We ordered from both the regular menu and happy hour. For starters, we got Brussels Sprouts, Spicy Edamame and Chicken Gyoza. For our Entrees we ordered a few rolls which included the Shaggy Dog Roll. All items were freshly made and deeelish! Service was speedy, and our waiter was really kind and attentive. Highly Recommend!

This place is just alright. We ate here for dinner. The interior is modern and clean. Our server was polite and attentive. We ordered the Lickety split roll and an assortment of nigiri. The roll was tasty; the soft shell crab was fried well. The nigiri was fresh, but the size was quite small. The slices of fish were cut slim and thin. The rice in the one spicy scallop gunkan I ordered was overcooked and mushy. The presentation of the sushi is nicely done. It's a decent meal and within walking distance if you're staying in the hotel nearby.

Sushi Rebel has become one of my favorite sushi spots in the entire Houston area. Conveniently located right next door to my office, it's a go-to for both lunch and after-work dinners. The service is always friendly, though not always the fastest so come with a bit of patience, especially during busy times. The decor is modern, chic, and welcoming, perfect for a casual bite or a dinner with friends. I've been here many times, and my favorite dishes never disappoint. The Kobe beef cubes are absolutely incredible--juicy, succulent, and packed with flavor. The crispy rice adds the perfect crunch, and the sunny side up quail egg gives it a rich, velvety finish. As for sushi, the Optimus Roll and Godzilla Roll are my go tos. The fish is always incredibly fresh and tender, and the flavor combinations are spot on. Even the simple side salad is huge, fresh and satisfying. If you're looking for a sushi spot with great vibes, delicious food, and consistently high quality, Sushi Rebel is a must-try!

Amazing place! We did apps and chefs choice nigiri. Each item was an experience. Service was top notch. We had time between each item to enjoy it!

I LOVE sushi rebel!! Not too expensive for absolutely delicious sushi. They have a super wide menu and everything I've had is so good. Always quick service and nice staff. One of my favorite sushi places in the area

    Love the decor.

Stopped in for lunch today with my son and his wife and it turned into one of those meals you talk about afterward. We ordered a mix of dishes--A5 wagyu beef tataki, the Philly Twist roll, Dragon roll, Kraken roll, and chicken teriyaki--and every single one delivered. The standout was definitely the beef tataki. The A5 wagyu was incredibly tender and full of flavor. It's one of those dishes you slow down for because you don't want it to end. Even the chicken teriyaki was solid--juicy, not overly sweet, and cooked perfectly. Service was friendly, timing was smooth, and the whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.

All rolls, sushi, and signature nigiri mentioned plus tiger shrimp, fresh salmon, eel sashimi, shrimp fried rice, and more.

Food and service are top notch. We don't go anywhere else for sushi and if we do it never matches up! Maria is great, she's usually bartending, but also a server. Super nice, friendly, and personable experience every time. Vibe is definitely chill and come as you are. If you want to step it up, the location is also fancy. Bring your favorite sushi order from another restaurant here and they'll match it and make it better. Superb all the way around! 100/10. Fave rolls: Optimus, Philly twist, Tropical Fave sushi: otoro, any signature nigiri but especially the red snapper, yellow tail, seared escolar, foie gras. Phenomenal! You won't be disappointed.

Service is mediocre. Food is delicious and quality. The service was not what I was expecting for this establishment. The waitress spilled sauce all over the table and haphazardly cleaned it up. I really enjoyed the food tho! The quality was really good and fresh. Hats off to the chefs!

A cute restaurant that delicious sushi! Walked in for Happy Hour and had delicious sushi rolls, kimchi brussell sprouts , a few yummy cocktails. The restaurant is pretty and super clean. The happy hour menu was pretty extensive with great prices as well as the full menu. The service was outstanding!!

I was blown away by this place. The ambiance, the service, and the food.... oh my!!! The sushi was simply stellar and so incredibly fresh. It is the perfect date night spot and it is right around the corner from the movies so you could easily pop in before or after the movie. Please put the word out. You will be mesmerized by the quality and freshness and OGM the presentation. I will be coming back again and again. This rebel has a cause and it is Sushi Rebel!!!

When we arrived for dinner there were several diners, but it wasn't overly crowded. Plus, it was happy hour...perfect timing. Our waitress was very helpful with helping us decide. We finally decided on the baked mussels and fried calamari from the happy hour menu. Our main course was the deluxe platter. Absolutely amazing. Some of the pieces on the platter are chosen by the chef. The platter consisted of salmon, yellowtail, tuna, sea bream, and red snapper -- the sea bream took the show! Very robust flavor! The red snapper, a close second. Everything was so good. Very fresh selection. Can't wait to visit again.

As we exited, the hostess was focused on her phone and completely ignored us--even after we initially said, "Thank you." It wasn't until we said "Thank you" a second time that she finally acknowledged us. A hostess is often both the first and last impression of a restaurant, and guests should not have to repeat themselves simply to receive basic courtesy. Hospitality extends beyond seating guests--it includes making them feel welcomed and appreciated from arrival to departure. Unfortunately, that standard was missing here.

Went to komeya today for the first time with my daughter, she got the maki lunch special and I got…read morethe spicy miso ramen. Mine came out later so forgot to take a pic. The Maki lunch special comes with 2 rolls, soup and salad. The soups and salad were a generous side, definitely more than you'd would get with a bento box. The salad was fresh and had the usual creamy ginger Japanese dressing, delish. For the maki bowls, they were a nice size, and are actually the normal sized rolls you would get from the menu for a spicy salmon and eel roll. I thought for price would be simple hand rolls with just fish and rice and wrapper, but these had cucumber or avocado, sauces and nicely filled. Deliscious eel, spicy salmon had a surprisingly different delicious flavor to it and nice kick. For the spicy miso ramen, it's actually their original tonkotsu with miso and spiciness mixed in. The waitress recommended as the best flavor and although I haven't tried any of their others, it did have nice flavor. Creamy, with layers of flavor and a nice mouth feel that coated your tongue with umami. I am a spicy fanatic, so for me wasn't very spicy, but with chili oil available on the table I could increase the spicy profile. The nice thing here is the ramen toppings aren't all extra so a great deal. Came with chashu, 2 pieces, one on top had been fried with an excellent char and crunchiness to it, especially since the crunchy garlic was on top. Also for toppings were corn, bamboo shoots, nori, rice cakes, and half a boiled egg so no nickel and dime for toppings here . Fast and attentive service so if trying to get in and out on your lunch break, no problem. Quaint, small venue in shopping strip. Quiet though so nice to have conversation with your lunch date. I would recommend and definitely go again

I showed our waitress and she said well of course there's a bone because they only use whole fresh eel. Bruh. I mean it's $12 for 3 pieces of tuna sashimi. I'd expect the food to be fresh at those prices. Then she quickly snatched it out of my hand and left. I did hear a soft sorry as she spun around. She went off to tend to other tables. But later in the meal I did hear her talking in the back with a man in Chinese about how a customer was complaining about a small bone in l their food. Guess she doesn't know I speak Chinese. At the end of the meal, I asked our waitress if she was the owner. She said no, quickly followed by a "the owner is not here today". Then I asked whether the owner was Chinese. Super duper long pause, followed by a soft spoken yes. Well, my favorite place in Memphis is also Chinese owned. I think many of the Japanese restaurants are. Ah well.
