The fuzzy drink wasn't fizzy and I question whether it actually had any alcohol in it. My husband's king sushi looked amazing. One order wasn't not enough to satisfy him so another option to go with it would be advisable. I have trouble with chopsticks so they gave me a clip that helped so much. They took forever to bring our food and and the restaurant was not very busy. They only had one waitress serving the people that were there so service was very slow. They have the absolute highest quality seafood and I can taste the difference including larger sushi pieces, with all the accompanying frills like a hot towel to start. 100 stars! I've been in restaurants from Louisiana, all over Texas, to North Carolina, and this is, by far, the best restaurant I have ever been in, hibachi or otherwise. The customer service is above reproach. The owner himself walks his tables and tends to even the smallest of details. He interacts with his customers in a fashion that makes the customer feel as if he truly cares (not saying he does or does not, but he makes us feel welcomed and valued) I only saw one hibachi chef, but he makes the best mushrooms (and I never liked mushrooms before), the best shrimp, the best steak I believe I have ever tasted. I would eat here at least once a week if it was within my budget. It is pricey, but the quality makes it well worth whatever price one pays. It is a must on places to visit when you come to Colorado Springs. As I said before, this is the best restaurant in which I've had the privilege to dine. read more

I've been going here ever since I was a little kid, way back in 1999! It was one of the first restaurants that we tried after moving from Minnesota, just to try the local cuisine, and they have never failed us. When I got older I was looking for something more adventurous and the waiter recommended the Volcano Roll. SO YUMMY. Whenever I go there now (if the budget is healthy enough) I order that very roll. The sushi chef has worked there as long as I have lived in the Springs and is a close friend. I look forward to chatting with him every time I go. I read the reviews and saw the good/bad. First of the service was pretty good. Our server refilled our drinks fairly quick and was friendly. We ordered the shabu shabu, spicy miso ramen, chicken bento, beef bento, and tekka maki. Everyone enjoyed their meals and all of us previously lived in Japan. The tekka maki was really good as the tuna had good color and the rice was delish. The ramen was awesome and the spice was just perfect! To make it better they should have had sliced pork in it. My friends ordered the shabu shabu and it was nice to see this in the states, especially in Colorado! If you don't know what it is, it's thinly sliced meat and veggies you cook in a boiling pot of water. My other friends got the bento boxes which came out in a huge portion! They enjoyed the meal and loved the teriyaki sauce. Overall great meal, great atmosphere, and loved the seating :) read more

This little sushi/japanese restaurant is ok for me. Nothing fancy. It's just in a strip mall on Academy, but I do LOVE that tables near the windows are somewhat japanese in style. You remove your shoes and sit on cushions and nestle your legs under the table. I wish ethnic food reflected more of their individual culture. I miss that here! I'd love to see not only the food, but also the tradition of the food that goes along with it and makes it for a truly learning experience. We don't only eat with our mouths and stomach, we do so with our eyes as well and I do command a bit of innovation here! I am not a sushi fan, but my fellow diners said they had good sushi. I do trust them since they love and eat tons of it :) I had chicken teryaki, it was good and a good portion but to me it was too sweet. I'll try something else next time. I've dined at Jun's several times over the years. The sushi is great, but as some of the other reviewers commented, the service is lacking. I went in this evening and sat at the bar. I was promptly asked for my drink order and one of the chefs prepared my wasabi/ginger/cucumber plate. My tea and soup arrived quickly, but that was the last attention I received from any of the wait staff. Not once was I offered a refill of my drink, which I finished before my meal. The chef who prepared my sashimi did a great job and made some good recommendations when I couldn't decide what I wanted. When I had finished my meal, no one ever offered my check. I had to get up and go to the register. When none of the regular staff assisted me, the chef came over and rang up my order. 5 stars for the food and 1 star for the service is why I give Jun's a 3.... I'll be happy to bump up my rating when they bump up the service level. BTW.... All during this month of September, Jun's is offering 20% off the entire menu (except for drinks) to celebrate their reopening.... I'm so sad!!! Jun has always been a favorite of ours. Like my go to for sushi! Tonight was a HUGE disappointment! We arrived at opening, first table to be sat. After getting our beverages, they sat 2 more tables. Took drink and food orders and they even had some good on their table before we were finally able to order. Then comes the soup. It was pretty good until we found chunks of old food glued to the sides of the bowls. It was so nasty. Yay! The sushi arrives, it wasn't right, so they took all the sushi back and remade one while the other just sat there...longer. My picture is the lion king roll...my all time favorite until tonight! It looked awful. The avocado looked gross, the roll was a mess and the sauce was practically missing, even after asking for extra. I save all my eating for the day until I eat here, because normally the rolls are huge and amazing. So I ate, but it wasn't my normal fresh amazing sushi. Such a disappointment. My kids food was not good...all they asked for were noodles with teriyaki sauce. Not sure what they made but it definitely wasn't teriyaki. My husband ordered a bowl of spicy miso ramen and it took 50 mins to get his food. So needless to say he had ate off all of our plates while waiting and was not even hungry when it came. I came in with an open mind...I know that Colorado Springs isn't exactly known for the cuisine, let alone sushi, but I was willing to give this place a shot. It's a smaller restaurant that's bordering on outdated. We sat up at the tables that are by the windows (Tekkai, I think they're called...) and began to narrow down our options. Let's start with the positive aspects: the green tea was exceptional and the service was very prompt. The edamame was overly salted and completely overcooked. As far as sushi goes, nearly every item is fried or tempura-based. For rolls, we had the MGT (I think?), veggi, blind date, and lobster, plus an order of tuna nigiri. Heaps of rice surrounded lukewarm, days-old fish and greasy, over-fried vegetables. Do not order the MGT, unless you enjoy heaps of mayo-saturated "crab" mix baked with even for mayo on top. I heard a patron getting into a heated discussion with one of the sushi chefs about when a particular piece of tuna was caught; he replied "how am I supposed to know? I just work here."
