I must say that it's unfortunate that some people are hard to please. In the other hand I like to just sit back and watch things play out and then expose them as one with managing skills. I had the pleasure of ordering from Sushi Sake last night. I had issues with my order from Postmates so I decided to take a cruise down to the restaurant and place my order. While I waiting for my order I had a pleasant conversation with the friendly host CAROLINA (Carol) about Postmates. As I took a seat I noticed a customer walked back in to ask for some more sauce. When they asked which one he'd like he didn't know. They immediately realized he just ordered and they said would you like shrimp sauce? He responded, "Yes, that's it!" Once they got the sauce they reached out to hand it to the customer and the sauce fell and the lip popped open a bit inside the clear plastic bag they wrap it in for "To-Go" orders. ANDRES stepped in and sort of inspected the product that had fell and wasn't happy with the result so immediately sent for another. I glanced at the customer and he kinda smirked at the whole mishap. CAROL rushed back with urgency with the new shrimp sauce for her customer and said, "I'm really sorry about that, I just hope it didn't hit you in the head when it fell!" The customer burst with laughter said thank you! I just love how fast they executed that. They didn't waste anytime helping him figure out the sauce he wanted. They rushed to get it. It fell. It didn't look pleasing. They rushed for another. They made sure the customer was satisfied. I'd say their work flow and chemistry is on point. Shortly after, my food arrives.... My friends and I came here because the place we originally wanted to go to was super packed. We're always down for sushi and this was right down the street so we decided to come here. I walked in and saw that the restaurant was super small. No one had a child. And there were no booths. *shudder* I had my VERY active 2 year old with me. We were sat right next to the door which I guess was perfect since we made frequent visits outside to let my son run up and down the sidewalk of the strip mall. Which I don't think my server or the hostess mind that I left the restaurant quite often with him. The food was good. I just picked the first roll on the menu because I couldn't decide. It was the TNT roll, eel, cream cheese, avocado and I believe crab. It was the first time I've had eel and cream cheese in a roll together. I will say that the roll was rather large. One piece could barely fit in my mouth, so I would bite them in half which isn't really what I wanted to do since it causes the roll to fall apart. read more

Sushi Sake rolls are extremely yummy. Mind you - this is not "traditional" sushi - the rolls are usually heavily sauced and/or fried. Knowing that, I still love their variation. Both this and the Hammocks location have great Dragon rolls and crunchy rolls. Those are my favorites, but all the rolls I've tried have been good. The spring rolls are also very good; however they are a bit expensive - $5 for 3. I have also ordered the fried rice and find the portions to be a bit on the small side. I usually tend to order takeout, so I can't comment on the service. I do find the upcharge for extra sauce to be high. Nevertheless, this place keeps me coming back for those delicious rolls. read more

Great little spot that always hits the spot AND is open late night! They have a cool decor and music is always playing ( beware if you're not into this type of vibe). I personally love it and it makes dining super fun! They have hibachi stuff ( like Samurai etc. even the sauces) except that they don't cook on the table, it's from the kitchen. Sushi selection is awesome here. They serve infused sakes which are so delicious ! They are house made. Ask for this for sure ! Best part is the cotton candy at the end. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Let me start by saying that I hate resorting to yelp. I've been in the restaurant industry for five years so I know that yelp reviews aren't always the most truthful. However, I am sharing my experience to ensure that what happened to me tonight, doesn't happen to others. I ordered takeout for my boyfriend and I, around 9:30-9:40PM, and was told my food would be ready in approximately 40 minutes to an hour. I know that Sushi Sake tends to have a high volume of orders so I arrived at the hour mark to pick up my food. When I walked in a young girl was sitting down, doing end of the night paper work (cash out for anyone in the biz). Rather than standing up to help me, she yelled at one of the cooks to grab who ever was in charge of take out. I gave my name for the order and the guy exchanged words about my order with the young girl. He returns and asks me "cash or card". When I say card, he tells me that the system stops accepting cards after 10:30 so I have to pay cash. I immediately get upset because if your system truly stops accepting card payments after a certain time, wouldn't you disclose that information to the guest at the time they placed their order? Being in the industry, I know lies when I hear them! The computer system they use is POS, a computer system that I'm VERY familiar with, and at no point, EVER, does the system stop taking payments after a certain time. I am certain the "manager" Alex (who knows if that was his real name) was trying to get me to pay in cash so that he could pocket my money. In my frustration, I explained to him that this was extremely unprofessional and they should have warned me at the time I placed my order if such thing was true. Alex stared at me blankly and told me there was "nothing he could do". Excuse my French but, bullshit. Not that I'm looking for freebies, but any other restaurant, would have given you the food for free, why? Because it was a VERY BIG mistake on their end and they're going to end up eating the food or throwing it out. In addition, we are mid-pandemic and no one was wearing masks, gross! I am very disappointed. I am a very generous tipper and was looking forward to leaving a very hefty tip and enjoying my dinner at home. Thankfully, things went south and they didn't get a dollar out of me. Overall, this is a very shady, unprofessional environment. I won't be returning ever again. Please do not fall for any "cash only" tricks, they're not true; they are kids trying to pocket your hard earned money! On a separate note, after some research I found that there are many allegations circling the internet about sexual assault occurring behind the closed doors of this establishment. After tonight's shady exchange, nothing would surprise me. Please be conscious of what's going on. If you see something, say something! read more

Honestly I have been to many different Sushi Sake locations and this one is ok. We came here to try it out because it's close to my house. It's a small location which is fine. However, the food was sub par to other locations we've been to. Don't get me wrong, the food was undoubtably fresh and that's always great. The taste didn't compare though. I had the Miami heat roll which is my favorite. The presentation was lovely! It was good. It was a little plain though. It was missing it's usual kick of flavor! So although I was satisfied, it didn't quite hit the spot the same. Maybe this is due to it being a new location. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Was craving for sushi and decided to do take out to fulfill both my boyfriend and I's craving. The person on the phone was very attentive and told me that it would take about 20 min for our two rolls and edamame. That sounded perfect to me. However unfortunately that wasn't the case. We arrived to pick up our food and it was still not ready. After waiting an additional 30 min, we were able to get the food. While waiting they didn't offer anything, they just kept repeating I'm sorry. But not to show that they were sorry. Terrible Service! On 4/26/2020, I placed an order online for delivery for Sushi Sake. I had to do it Through Postmates apparently they are the ones who do deliver the Sushi Sake restaurant in my area. 10834 SW 104th St. Miami Fl.33176. When I received my order, 1 item out of 3 that I ordered was correct and they added and extra item and charged me for it that I have not ordered. I called the store right away to make them aware of the mistake. Gus answered the phone and he acknowledged the mistake on the order saying that postmates website menu is different from the actual sushi sake's menu. Example when I see JB roll, under postmates menu means something else... I told him that I would like what I ordered . The food I was given was NOT what I have ordered and I stated that if sushi sake knows about issue with Postmates menus how come they have not done anything to solve it? Gus, very rudely said if I didn't like the meal(s) I received I can put it in the trash. Sushi Sake is not responsible for Postmates Menu and I should take it up with them". I tried contacting Postmates customer Service #. They are not answering. They give you a website to place a complaint, which I couldn't find where to do it. It is so sad how something so simple can turn very frustrating. The order was originally less than $25.00 then they charge you delivery fee (completely understandable) then tax (of course) then (tip) then there is a service fee that they dont tell you about and the extra item that appeared in the order. So from $25 ended at $50.00 on top of everything you dont get the food that you want, but to put the cherry on top you get Gus "great customer service " (I'm very sarcastic) telling you if you dont like it throw food away... It was Thursday and I was in the mood for some sushi and fried rice. What better place then my local Sushi Sake spot. I have one close to home so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Plus, they had a great lunch special for $10 and you have a good lunch portion. Awesome ! Can't say enough great things about the place, although small and in a corner, it's a great little hole in the wall. Food was spectacular, specifically their Shrimp Lunch Special.. the shrimp, rice and vegetables were all delicious. Service was excellent, from beginning to end. My server was Amanda and she did a wonderful job. She shared with me the specials and best way to take advantage of their lunch. I was very pleased and will definitely come again. I have a Sushi Sake close to home, but this place definitely takes the crown over them and considering its close to home, I will definitely one here again and have lunch once more ! An hour and a half later I called to see where my order was and was placed on hold on and off for 10 min just to be told my order was being packed. Not sure why all sushi sakes run so differently, but this one by far competes for "worst" along with the one in the hammocks. The few times I have resorted to this one as it's the closest to me (I usually take the time to drive to the one in country walk because it is 1000x better) I've been so disappointed. Not only does their service scream SLOW but the wait staff and the people behind the sushi bar give looks as if they're all judging everyone walking in the door. Not very friendly or welcoming at all. My biggest let down has been the last two times when I tried to place a to go order at 11:15 when they close at 12 but because they decided to close at 11:30 they wouldn't take my order over the phone. Here I am thinking I have a lot of time left to order and pick up but nope, they make up their own times whenever they want. I didn't even bother to go in. The whole point of ordering to-go is so it's ready when you arrive, not show up order to-go and then have to sit for 15-20 minutes waiting for it to be ready. Second strike was this evening when we arrived 35 minutes before closing which isn't typical for us but it's the only decent place open until 12 around here that's not a bar food or fast food. But not to my surprise, they decided to close early so as we arrived they said they're only taking to-go orders. Considering we wanted just two simple rolls and a rice, we would have been in and out in 30 minutes but because they didn't want to actually seat us we had to order to-go which took about 20 minutes in itself to make for some reason when we're literally the only people in the place. They're so busy trying to clean to leave that they're only focus is that itself. The food quality is consistent, and the pricing is all the same so no complaints there. They really need to work on their customer service in this location, and honoring their own hours that they have posted everywhere. It's annoying to never know when I can order or show up. For that, I'll just drive to a better sushi sake with a 5 Star rating. Added edit: I finally received our order and I have to complain. For some reason all other locations seem to make their Yukke with avocado on the side.. this one mixes it in, giving you less meat which is kind of ridiculous on top of the terrible experience and the fact that you expect something one way and it's given in a different manner. I was in the area and wanted sushi for lunch. Very disappointed with their lunch options. No bento box! The sushi lunch special is $2 off 4 of their specialty rolls. Nothing else included. If you're coming here for hibachi, they will include rice and soup. Found it odd, that on a Friday at lunch time there were only 6 customers. Maybe this place is better for dinner. Sorry to say the quality of food preparation was poor. Chefs need some training. Had lunch at the Westchester location on Friday which was excellent and there is no comparison. We ordered the same dishes and they were prepared totally different. The egg drop miso ended up being a creamed soup with large chunks of egg - not the way an egg drop soup should be. The rice on the rolls was wet and gummy and some fell apart when we picked them up. We ordered the crab roll that's wrapped in cucumber and it was totally different from The other location - fell apart, cucumber slices were way too thick, large chunks of crab, dish had no sauce .... just overall poor preparation. Worst service! An hour to be picked up and I got an incomplete order. When I called they told me it would be 15-20 min to be ready and I asked if I could add something they told me it would be 45 min. When I got to the restaurant 20 min after the call my roll was not ready and I waited 25 min. I go home and the roll had spicy sauce which I had asked not to put and the sashimi was a trio when I had asked salmon only. I called to speak to manager and guess what? The food here is delicious, of course!! But... there are screens that play music videos and most of the videos are wildly inappropriate!! Especially when there are kids eating there. I think the TVs are a great idea and a great touch to the restaurant but I think the music videos shouldn't be as provocative as they are. I brought my 7 year old brother and he was very uncomfortable while he was eating dinner because of the music videos that were being played. read more
