Absolutely incredible!! My best friend and I finally got to try this Miami classic and we were blown away. The restaurant is cute and simply decorated, with the classic ground seating areas towards the front. All the servers were very attentive and sweet, we arrived 40 min before closing and didn't feel rushed, and were made aware when closing call was. The miso soup was incredible, full of flavor and rich. The crispy rice was one of my favorite bites of the night, specifically the salmon one. Fish was fresh and perfectly seasoned and rice was warm and crisp to perfection. The Daimyo Maki was insane, huge roll, with big pieces of fish. What a great spot!! My best friend and I enjoyed a late dinner here this past weekend and it was amazing. They blew it out of the park. Their portions and prices can't be beat. The fish tastes so fresh and the rice has the most perfect consistency and just the right amount of vinegar. This is seriously one of the best sushi spots we've tried throughout all of Miami and South Florida. Their miso soup was also outstanding and so flavorful. We ordered 3 rolls, a crispy tuna (not pictured), miso soups, and 2 hand rolls and it was plenty of food and then some! Everything was delicious. Our favorite dish of the night was their mixed fish crispy rice with tuna and salmon, and their JB and Daimyo rolls. Yum!! Service was wonderful. We came 40 mins before closing and were greeted and sat without a rush. We got all our food ordered immediately and waited no more than 10 mins before it all came out. The staff was super accommodating and very nice. The restaurant has plenty of seating and very cute decor. You can see the chefs make the rolls in a very traditional Japanese sushi spot way. I have always wanted to come here. I've always passed by this restaurant and for some reason never went inside. I'm so happy my friends decided to have some sushi. The service was phenomenal, even the owner passed by our table and spoke with us for a while. To start off I had a miso soup, it was very good. To share we had the steam shrimp shumai, it was soft and delicious. I'm glad that we all decided to share the sushi rolls. We got to try a bit of each and honestly they were all amazing. My favorite though was the Diana Roll, it had Spicy Tuna, avocado and was topped with imitation crab salad. I loved that it had tempura flakes sprinkled on top. Everything we ate was great. We had 2 bottles of sake which were both good. My favorite was obviously the pink bottle. It was sweet but not overpowering. This is such a nice spot to have dinner with friends or family. It's in the heart of sunset, if you are even in the area you've got to check them out. You can usually find street parking, if not there is a garage or lot down the street. read more

Wow! Miyako is cute and cozy, but the size of the rolls are humongous! We weren't used to that and clearly ordered too much, but it was delicious. I personally would like to see a higher protein to rice ratio, but it was good nonetheless. The rocket roll was AMAZING! It was a sweet and savory combination bursting with flavor. Sunset roll was second and had a nice spice to it. Last roll was the beauty and the beast. This was good too, but it was certainly the rocket that stole the show. We also had the seaweed salad, edamame, steak shrimp shumai and the beef gyoza (my friend had this and said it was good). Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. We were seated and given waters, then told afterward they were closing early. The staff member kept saying they "closed in 5 minutes," even though the restaurant itself didn't close for another 20 minutes. We completely understood the kitchen was closing, but we were the only ones being rushed out. The worst part was my friend was literally still drinking her water, and the second she put it down, the staff member came over and took all of our waters away before we had even left. Completely unnecessary and disrespectful. If you don't like rude service, I would avoid this place. read more

My wife ordered the JR or JB roll and we did not realize the snapper was breaded and fried. My wife did not like that roll at all. Went today for the first time. Very nice service and very accommodating. We were able to sit wherever we liked which is thought was nice. The ambiance was okay, it's a small place and seems very chill, a little more decor inside wouldn't hurt. I'm a picky eater but their food selection was great. I really enjoyed their Pork Katsu and their chicken friend rice, probably one of the best I've had in a while. We also had pan fried gyozas which i thought were 10/10 wish it would bring more than five, I could eat about 20 of them. Highly recommend this place. read more

A great selection of fresh sushi for a reasonable price in South Miami. I come here frequently and usually switch between ordering the boat (if I'm with friends) or the Sashimi Mori entree. The Sashimi Mori is a delicious platter of just fish. It comes with a side of white rice, but I usually tell the server to hold it because the fish alone is very filling. The plate features a fresh selection of thickly cut salmon, tuna, hamachi, imitation crab, and a couple of slices of octopus. It's always extremely fresh. It also comes with either a ginger salad or miso soup. The ginger dressing is great. I have also tried the following rolls that I highly recommend: Spider Roll American Roll Dragon Roll Dadeland Roll A (for a healthier option) Service is good and the ambiance is nice. Horrendous service. I went in to pick up my order and no one made eye contact with me. Tons of staff lingering around in the back. Not a soul in the restaurant had a plate of food on their table. I just wanted my uber eats so I tried to go talk to someone. They kept ignoring me for a few minutes. I had ordered my sushi at 7:15, by 8:20, they had the audacity to tell me it was still ANOTHER 30 minutes. I called uber eats and cancelled the order. They should go out of business for how they're treating customers. Or at the very least, hire some chefs!!! read more

I don't live in Florida. My best friend lives here. I came to visit with my 4 year old son. Who wanted his raw salmon. First about the service. Friendly waitress and no one was there when walked in. One couple. Then it started to get busy. We order. Miso soup with tofu and rice for the little one. Then sashimi salon. This was $24 but she said this was the smaller one. Wow! But it was delicious. I ordered seaweed salad. And the Daimyo Maki roll and I wasn't too impressed. I ate only half. It looked good but I would suggest a different roll. It didn't have a lot of taste to it. They charge you for miso soup. The places I've been, if you order rolls or sashimi it comes with it (I guess I'm just too spoiled for our sushi place back home) But not a big deal. It was the cheapest of what I ordered. My bill with Miso soup, side of white rice for the soup, seaweed salad, salmon sashimi, and Daimyo Maki roll came out to $59 lol. Ummm yeah. No. Especially with the roll not being that good. If I could take it back I'd get something else :) I would give it 3 stars for the cost. Located in the ever great South Miami area you will find this independent owned Japanese restaurant. They have been here for many years and serve fresh and authentic Sushi. We decided to order the Mori for two which consist of California roll, Tuna roll with scallions, and twenty pieces of nigiri served on one of their Sushi boats. Thankfully we came hungry and were satisfied with good quality of the sushi. This restaurant offers floor seating if you are looking to change things up a bit for your sushi night! We opted to order a sushi boat for 2 and a few warm dishes - the katsu don and the pork katsu curry. The gohan dishes were very tasty and worth coming back for. The sushi was good, but not great - the variety of the fish was not very large, but hit the crowdpleasers: shrimp, salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. I would have preferred more of a variety myself, but at least the fish was fresh and tasty. I a not very fond of the imitation crab nigiri, and would much rather have a tamago (egg) than fish cake pretending to be crab... but that is ok. Overall a lovely dining experience, and will be back for some homey gohan dishes in the future! read more

My co workers treated me to lunch for my birthday and I guess we didn't realize they close for lunch at 2:30. Even though we walked in 10 minutes prior, the server politely sat us down and immediately took our orders. I was bummed they didn't have a Spicy Crab Roll because that's my safe pick at Sushi spots but they compensated with having w delicious Volcano Roll. I don't typically drink soda but since they had several flavors of Ramune, I caved in. The service was spectacular! Because of the time we arrived, it was obviously not noisy or crowded.
