This is my favorite sushi in Dallas. It's five minutes from my house and the Japanese owner is almost always on the bar making sushi. They always bring out a wonderful little seaweed type salad. I can't get enough of it. It's fresh and tangy. My eleven year old loves it as well. We basically fight over the dishes that dining companions don't eat. We also order miso soup. It's the best in town by far, you can really taste the miso, and it's not too fishy. They have nice typical standards like tuna rolls, rainbow rolls, and California rolls. My favorite sushi is the sea snail. It's nice and crunchy and very fresh. I could eat this all day for every meal. Anything with eel skin is fantastic. The sashimi is great. Everything I have had has been top notch. I don't know much about sushi, but I do like it in general, and this place does it best. They have great cooked dishes as well. The beef and asparagus roll is my favorite. They also have nice tempura dishes that are light and virtually greaseless. The service is nice, albeit a bit stuffy. Parking is okay, but there is a long wait. I love the atmosphere. It's very sleek and modern. It really is a favorite place to eat. read more

Took my sons for lunch today. It was $66 including tip. Steep for lunch prices although the quality was good. Especially liked the udon, although for $14 calling it meat udon was a bit exaggerated. I had an inch long slice of chicken, 1 shrimp tempura (albeit tasty), an egg, and lots of mushrooms. We had gyoza and fried chicken as an appetizer. The gyoza was juicy, not fried enough on one side for my taste, however it was delicious and I enjoyed the dipping sauce. We ordered an appetizer of shrimp tempura which came with three pieces of shrimp, a slice of sweet potato, zucchini and broccoli tempura. All battered lightly. The dipping sauce was lacking. The unagi lunch was superb. The teriyaki chicken was ok. The way they plated the food was elegant, this was definitely a nice atmosphere. Next time I will try just sushi, as that seems what everyone was ordering. read more

I always get the chirashi, but this restaurant is definitely slacking with the quality more and more. The sashimi is always kind of lukewarm and there's a lot less of it now than before. The owner needs to suck it up and raise the prices instead of compromising the quality. read more

10 years plus frequenting this Sushi Saki. Always fresh, always professional, clean, great atmosphere for date or family. Five star!! Only down side - if you have a preferred waitress / waiter, they won't let you choose and do not care if that makes you leave. This was my introduction to sushi in Dallas, and I have to say--this is about as good and fresh as one can get. I'm new to the city, so my expectations of restaurants are still being formed, and that goes extra for seafood in a city so far inland. Went with some co-workers for lunch this week. The prices were about what you'd expect for a higher end restaurant. The decor and presentation was impressive, even the bento boxes I saw being brought to the next table over. Everything was fresh and tasted excellent, including the wasabi. Usually I have to mix in a ton of it just to even taste it. Not here. It doesn't really get better than this. This is the best Sushi place ever. The fish is fresh and the service is always great. Its a very busy place so speaks volumes about the quality of the food! This is the only place my husband will eat sushi at. I don't blame him....you won't be disappointed. This is still, in my opinion, the best sushi restaurant in DFW. This is not a Blue Fish. You will not find a Rock Manhattan roll or an Ahi Tower here. (Nothing against Blue Fish, of course. I frequently dream of their Ahi Tower.) What you will find is a more traditional, authentic, Japanese sushi bar and restaurant. The fish is the freshest I've ever had. The decor of the restaurant feels like a mix of modern and traditional Japanese. The hot towels they provide prior to your meal is a nice touch. Also, try some of the cooked menu items from the kitchen. I'm a huge fan of the Miko Tofu, which is a clay pot dish with beef, tofu, and various veggies in a delicious broth, and their fried oysters appetizer is to die for. read more

For the price, this is one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to. The staff is extremely helpful, courteous, and patient. The sushi selection is fresh and varied, and the atmosphere feels authentic without coming off pretentious. I recommend sitting in the back room, where it feels like you're in an exotic Japanese tea garden. Did I mention you can leave stuffed to the gills with great sushi, have a couple of drinks, tip 20% and still come in under $30? really good classic sushi. this place is all about fresh specials, with them occasionally having mackerel or bonito. i think i've tried mostly all of their nigiri or sashimi options. the albacore is probably the best. the toro is a bit overpriced. they do NOT have tricked up specialty rolls however so take that elsewhere. had a great experience here once and a mediocre visit as well hence the 4 star review. the back rooms are pretty awesome. price : value isn't as great. read more

When a restaurant is visited by your company's Japanese c-level executives, you're curious if the food is actually good or just the familiar place to be. This is owned and operated by a Japanese family with lots of experience in the sushi industry. When you first walk in, there is absolutely no day-old fish smell! Now I've read some of the negative reviews about the price but let me ask, are you sure you're getting sushi grade fish or are you eating just raw fish? The rolls and sashimi were rolled and packed nicely- it didn't fall apart making our dining experience more pleasant. Just look at what you're getting, it should look and taste even better than a filet of beef without soy and wasabi. read more

Visited sushi sake tonight and I have to say it was top notch sushi!!!! I enjoyed the variety of different rolls and menu items and they were all tasty and fresh. I do have to disagree with the other reviews and say that my 2 year old is a sushi pro and they were more than accommodating to children. They took the time to make him modified chopsticks and also make him some super yummy popcorn chicken for dinner. We had a blast and this place was a pleasant surprise! Worst service ever. The manager threatened to call the police after we refused to pay for something that they got wrong. We didn't even eat one bite of anything. I had just barely soyed up my wasabi! It was incredible and hard to believe. The attitude and audacity of these people is appalling. They are in the service/ hospitality industry and obviously no one told them. It's like a loan shark or used car salesman saying take it or leave it. And if you leave it I'll break your legs. After eyeballing my plate and trying to decide whether or not to go ahead and eat it, the police dispatch told us we could leave. We just wanted to make sure we did the right thing and answer any questions if they decided to show up. So, to sum it up, go there and instead of ordering they'll bring you a bill and you'll pay it or face the wrath of mrs. GREAT Sushi and not too expensive like most Japanese restaurants. The atmosphere is also great whether at the sushi bar or the padded booths. So all in all, this is our go to place for awesome rolls and pan fried gyoza (dumplings). It can get pretty busy in the evenings, but worth the wait!!! read more

We heard about Sushi Sake through a friend and were pleasantly surprised by just how awesome it was! It was almost as good (if not as good) as Tei Tei in Dallas.
