My partner and I think the fingersteaks here are some of the best in the state - we order them off every menu if they're available and judge a restaurant based on them. We like the rotating beer list, and have had some decent (German) Pilsners here, too. The sushi here is very fresh, the rolls are quite delicious and the variety of same should satisfy anyone's palate. Loads of beer on tap, a great place for lunch or dinner. Sushi shack is one of our go-to sushi places in the Treasure Valley. They've got a pretty good selection and unique flavors for their sushi. My only complaint is that they are pretty small for what you pay for, so it ends being more of a "if we'd like to treat ourselves" type of sushi date. They can also get pretty crowded since it's a small joint, but we haven't had to wait too long to get a table. read more

We gave this location another chance this past weekend... we won't be returning to this location. Service was ok with sitting upstairs but they were definitely understaffed. The sushi... was not good. I ordered my usual orchid and it was lacking. I was given wedges instead of slices of lemon on top of the roll. Not even well cut wedges, poorly cut wedges clearly made for drinks. And no jalapeños. For an $18 roll I expect more. The torro torro roll is $25 ($3 more than their other location) for $25 I expect my roll to come out looking like a good roll. It was clearly not made with care and tasted nothing like the torro torro we had at the other location the previous weekend. I had to ask for my real wasabi and it was chopped, not grated. My fiancé ordered two rolls with adjustments made for swapping the shrimp with salmon and yellowtail. They brought out shrimp rolls that again looked like they were not made well. We did send them back. So we didn't get to eat at the same time. His rolls were made well when he received them. But the service and inconsistency of this location is no bueno. If you want good sushi go to the Harris Ranch location where the service is ALWAYS good and the Sushi is consistently good and worth the price. read more

i dont like to leave bad reviews , however, everything was horrendous. The service was terrible. The waiter messed up orders, not a big deal, but he was not kind about it. Found a hairs in my sushi roll, told the server and he asked if i wanted to still eat it. Then when he took it a way the manager came back and asked what is wrong with it and wanted me to prove there were hairs. Also annoyed about splitting checks. Food was not great. read more

Heard good things about this place. Drinks were solid, and there were lots of choices for food and drinks. The food warrants a higher rating BUT.. this place needs ventilation badly. One member of the staff needed deodorant in a major way. Another member of the staff took a 420 resin break. I'm super 420 friendly, but it felt like I was eating me sushi out of someone old weed pipe. Overall, I really couldn't enjoy the place due to the smell of resin hits and armpits. For the love of everything holy, PLEASE remind the staff to wear antiperspirant. First time losing my appetite due to BO; it's an experience I don't recommend. read more
