The sushi was fresh and tasty. They had plenty of options besides the typical rolls. They were a bit pricey, however it could be due to the location in downtown Hollywood. I enjoyed the sweet and spicy roll and rainbow roll the most. The dragon roll and spider roll were also very good and fresh. The inside is interesting, it felt like a small club with a sushi restaurant inside. It was a different vibe than I am used to for sushi spots, but it wouldn't deter me from going. It is located in Young Circle, so parking can be tricky on busy nights and weekends. They were packing out to go orders and they were flying out the door. Came here on a Friday for dinner with my three girlfriends and the service was INCREDIBLE!!! I personally got fried gyoza, and a Japanese Bagel roll. The rolls have 10 pieces each and the Japanese Bagel roll was only $10!!! The gyoza was $7! It was pouring down rain and cold when while we were here. Good service. Okay food. I ordered over the phone and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was ready as scheduled and pickup was easy. I was grateful they have a miso broth that can easily be made into a veggie ramen (no veggie ramen on the menu, but they can make it without chicken). Unfortunately there was pretty much nothing to the veggie ramen. Esp for the price (I think $15ish?). Noodles, broth, cabbage, and green onion with half a soft boiled egg. The restaurant is not very big, tables are spaced nicely. You won't be bumping into anyone. Speaking of the tables, they have a cool camo top, not very oriental zen, but it is cool. We were seated right away, out waitress was very nice and attentive. I actually got a free drink with my check in. Lychee saketini. Pretty good. We ordered a few rolls and appetizers to share. Presentation was on point, flavors were quite good. They have relatively cheap rolls as well as more pricey ones. We ordeered from both ends and I cannot tell any difference in flavor or quality. I was very impressed. I will definitely come back when in the area. The only reeason I am not awarding five stars is because I wish they had a full bar. I visited this restaurant during the week and it was empty - just me and my sister and a few people that trickled in. Yet the service was not that great. I tried using Yelps check in coupon for the free Saketini and the waitress brushed me off on a rude way with no reason as to why she couldn't honor it. It was way too sweet for me and I didn't even drink the whole thing but I didn't feel like arguing so I let it be. Not sure why the coupon is included if they're not going to honor it. As you enter the restaurant it is dimly lit. I could not even see the menu, thank goodness for my iPhone, The waiter tells us to pick a spot to sit and so we do. We arrived at 615 and it's not terribly busy. The orders are placed and within ten minutes the soup, seaweed salad, and shrimp dumpling are brought out. This is only half of our order. We order a veggie roll and the volcano roll. It seem like there was only one waiter for the entire place and one sushi chef. We were waiting for the rest of our food till 730. I know it doesn't take 30 minutes to cook a volcano roll as we have this in other restaurants and get it sooner. I tell the waiter why is this so late in coming out and he said it's the oven so why didn't he say don't order anything that needs the stove. When I walked it I could tell something felt different. It sounds crazy, but the bar seemed too organized. Honestly, I noticed that all the bottles of spirits were full. And most were still sealed still too. I asked the friendly guy working the bar as he was making my drink. "Say, what's with the new bottles". He explained the the place had been bought away from previous owners. It seemed a lot like what the place had been before to be honest. And that's a good thing. There is a casual panache to this place that is great. It has chill music and some lighting that is very laid back. The people working are very laid back, but professional. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT Should be called SUSHI SAUNA. Last night was my 2nd visit in 2 months and they STILL had no Air Conditioning in the dining room. The owners obviously don't care about this location, as there never seems to be a management presence (probably because they can't find anyone to work in this sweat box). Hello! This is Florida. If you have an A/C issue that can't be fixed in a couple of days, rent some portable cooling units for God's sake. 2 little $10 box fans don't do squat! I would have walked out, but the person I was with wanted to stay since other restaurants in the vicinity were very noisy and we needed to discuss some business matters. Food quality was OK, but also on the warm side (which is worrisome with raw fish). Presentation was good, but in the back of my mind I was wondering if sweat from the chef was one of the signature sauces. Was going to order a volcano roll, but was told (as other reviewers stated) it would take over 20min because it needs to go in the oven! Really?! Every sushi place I've ever gone to, has a little toaster oven for heating the dynamite, it takes two minutes. Ordered a spider roll and I think they only used half a crab. It was small with no signs of the claws that you typically see poking out of the ends. Here's a tip for anyone deciding to try this place. Ask to be seated in the bathroom. Standard Japanese fast food. You're not going to be wowed but more importantly, you're not going to get sick. That's an important quality when you're ordering late night takeout. They don't have the best hours (midnight close), but they do have a fairly quick delivery time. If you're ordering delivery and you're quoted +30 on the delivery time, then don't order any rolls wrapped in seaweed. Unless the fillings are raw/uncooked, the seaweed will get soggy from the condensation. They don't do anything particularly well, other than providing fresh options.
