My wife and I used to love this place before the new owners. We came in thinking it'd be about the same. Unfortunately, it's not. The staff is great and the new look of the place is nice and more open. We're not fans of using your own phone to order or servers taking payment on the tablets they carry around when they have to do that flip thing to have you tip. Now to the food... they kept some of the rolls... but changed them, and not for the better. Latin inspired rolls....hmm ok....just add citrus.. Some of the fishes were too fishy, and a certain baked one I used to love was now inedible. Overall we did have a good time and again the staff is great but..that's where it ends. Social media brought us in, but we were definitely thrilled to have stopped by. My husband and I love sushi and we're all about trying a new, local AYCE spot. Sushi Takumi had great service, a clean and comfortable establishment, and good sushi. We came in on a weekend for lunch and they were extremely busy. Despite the chaos, the excellent service didn't waiver and the food came out within a reasonable amount of time between rounds. Sushi Takumi is located in a strip mall with plenty of free parking shared among the surrounding businesses. There is ample seating inside with plenty of staff to keep things moving efficiently. We were pleased with the variety of items they had on their menu, especially in terms of sushi. Some of our favorite items included the Strawberry Cheesecake roll (always love mango in my sushi) and the Seared Salmon sushi. To be honest, the sushi was really good. The kitchen items, however, were hit and miss. The Korean Fried Chicken with accompanying sauce was tasty. The pork belly left a lot to be desired as it was overcooked and dry. We agreed that we would likely skip out on any kitchen items next time we stop by. Sushi Takumi was priced right with a product that, more than justified what we ate. Came to check this place out cause I found it on IG, they have a new ownership and now does Mexican/latin fusion sushi. I've never been here before so I can't speak to what it was like previously but... It was pretty packed on a Friday night. The fish was so fresh and sooooo good. Our server James was super helpful and explained the menu to us. He was attentive, friendly and kind. As for the ambiance it was pretty chill, I like the vibes. Really good sushi actually, pro tip to order all the exclusive (you can only order 1 per person foods) FIRST. Lunch price everyday (not just weekdays!) is $30, dinner is $35, so solid value. Staff is very kind & attentive, & everything came out quickly. We did 3 rounds & were in & out within an hour. I didn't have the food before the change in management but I gotta say, the way it is being managed now, they are very efficient with their operations. We came as a group of 10 with no reservations and were seated within 30 minutes during dinner service. Sonia explained everything in detail from the beginning so we knew what to expect. As soon as we placed our orders, the food came in quickly. Usually at other AYCE places, it takes a while for the food to come out. Not here! Within 5 minutes, the food started showing up and came all at once. There was no down time and they cleaned the tables off as soon as we were done with our plates to bring the next items right away. Their fish to rice ratio was also great. Not too much rice and the fish tasted fresh. They also had some Mexican inspired sushi dishes that gave it another twist. Ambience was really nice and I felt welcomed from the server tables to the wait staff and even the clean up crew. All of them were very friendly. Victor also was really good with just checking in on everyone from time to time and Makayla was also very friendly. Will definitely be back in the future. All of this service was also during Mother's Day dinner and they were still able to handle everything with the additional demand. Thank the gods above that I came across this restaurant on TikTok because it's definitely a favorite now. My partner and I came in today and were impressed with everything! The staff were so attentive and helpful. The space itself was very nice. There's a station that offers different sauces which was neat. We did AYCE and did not regret it. The takoyaki pieces were cooked beautifully and tasted great. The mussels weren't piping hot and tasted amazing. The nigiri had the perfect fish:rice ratio. But, our absolute favorite item was the Mango Salmon Roll. The sweetness of the mango amplified the flavor of the salmon and pice do gallo. I wish we had ordered a few rolls to go - lol. The Aguachile Yellowtail Roll was a second favorite too. The only downside is that the seating is a little cramped and no dessert, but honestly, that won't deter us from coming back. Probably some of the best AYCE sushi within a 30 mile radius. There was another go to place I had in Rancho for AYCE but this is officially my new favorite place. I don't even really want to leave a review because that just means I have to wait in line longer to eat. The Mexican fusion sushi is amazing. You have to get the Carpaccio and try all of them. Under new ownership- So I like the openness of it now BUT the tables are so close together I feel like I'm gonna dip my elbow into someone's dish walking by and you have to turn sideways and suck it in and I'm not that big. They need about 5 more inches apart. The food- I love the AYCE had nearly Everything on the menu. It's also cheaper than before. And the sauce station js cool. That being said- they are heavy handed with the Mexican flare. The fresh jalapeños and cilantro are slathered on almost everything. The spicy cucumber salad was decent but the cucumbers weren't really Crisp but were soggy. The rolls all seem to be a majority cream cheese and crabmeat with little variety. I stuck more to the basic individual sushi pieces (tuna, yellow tai, etc). Those were fine. They got rid of the old wonton poppers the old owners had. We're pretty sad about that. Those were a huge staple and the chicken teriyaki. But like I they do have other stuff the previous didn't have. You win some and you lose some. Service was good and it was packed. I'll have to try it a again another time and see if my review improves. I hope it does. read more

I decided to try your restaurant for the first time recently and was excited to experience the AYCE menu. Upon being seated, we were told that three rounds qualifies as All-You-Can-Eat. Good to know -- I guess quantity has its own quality. We started with a few items to test the waters and quickly discovered the portions were impressively petite. Undeterred, I placed a proper order of about 20 items, mainly focusing on the Korean bulgogi and ramen I came for. I had specifically asked before ordering if fish was avoidable and was assured the full menu was fair game under AYCE. Fantastic. At 9:00 PM, our server announced last call. Since we were still patiently waiting for many of the dishes we had ordered earlier, we didn't add anything else. At 9:20 PM, another staff member cheerfully asked if we were ready to pay -- because clearly, the highlight of the meal is settling the bill while half the order is still missing. After explaining we hadn't received items like the Korean bulgogi, flavored edamame, deep-fried Brussels sprouts, green mussels (3 orders placed, 1 plate delivered), Japanese chicken wings, soft shell crab, and actual ramen (just plain noodles and broth twice), we were told the kitchen was now closed. Moments later, a small plate of microwaved bulgogi appeared like a grand finale, with the rest declared unavailable. We were charged the full $34.99 per person for three people ($120 total), and I still left a 20% tip because apparently I enjoy rewarding creativity in portion control and timing. Some of the food we did receive looked great, but between the miniature servings, cold temperatures, and disappearing dishes, the value felt... creatively interpreted. All in all, it was an memorable experience -- mostly for how efficiently half the order vanished before my eyes. Would make a great magic show, slightly less ideal as dinner. read more
