We came for our last evening here in Fredericksburg and started with the spicy edamame. It was nice and spicy and gluten-free. We got Philly Roll, Rainbow, and the Chachu Don bowl. I'm sure that's not spelled right, but if you read my reviews, you'll be used to my spelling not being up to most standards. You still get it and you're still reading my review... so thank you for enjoying my madness. Cassidy was our server, and she was super busy just buzzing around the whole place doing her best thing, all along looking like she's living her best life. She did an excellent job taking care of all my gluten-free demands... I mean needs. So... I got to try Mochi for the first time, and let me tell you... it's something different for sure. We got Pistachio... amazing flavor and the most unique texture I've experienced in quite some time. The place is decorated with lots of Japanese flair, beautiful umbrellas, and lanterns. The walls were painted bright and beautiful. Some music and yet casual. Definitely will come back. Side note for my fellow gluten-free peeps. They offer gluten-free soy sauce. Wow! What a great (unexpected) find in the heart of Fredricksburg! Sushi Tiki has a very cool vibe (loved the playlist) with nice Japanese inspired decor. Cassidy, Sara & Jordan gave us great service and were super attentive, friendly and informative. The broccolini appetizer and the Kimono roll stole the show for us! Love the interior here, so cute inside! We didn't have a reservation, but didn't have any issues with being sat right away. Omg the crispy rice was so good and had a great kick to it, so if you're not a fan of spice I would say maybe avoid that dish but the flavor was incredible. I got the Crunchy Spicy Roll and it was good, but nothing out of this world. However, my sister got the Spider Roll and hers was really good. Rice, which was tasteless and cost $30, came out after 15 minutes. My wife ate it alone because more than 25 more minutes past and still no sushi. I wanted to love this place because it's absolutely adorable. Unfortunately, my stomach left hungry and with trust issues. We ordered the fried rice and paid an extra $6 for chicken. When it arrived, we genuinely thought they forgot it. After a careful archaeological dig through the rice, we uncovered what appeared to be three TINY pieces of chicken. We sent it back, thinking surely it was a mistake. It was returned with the explanation, "There's already chicken in it." Technically... yes. Spiritually... no. The fried rice itself was bland, had no visible egg, and came with lettuce and mushrooms, which was a plot twist I wasn't expecting in fried rice. And then there was the tea... I didn't know something as simple as tea could get messed up, but somehow it's possible. On the bright side, the waitress was super sweet and the restaurant is cute. If you're looking for Instagram photos, 10/10. If you're looking for chicken in your chicken fried rice... bring a magnifying glass. read more

First time visiting Fredicksburg which is a German town. I came across this Sushi spot. Upon entering, the decor was amazing and we were greeted. Shauna was our server and she was great and very attentive. She explained the menu to us and gave us some food recommendations. We ordered the Kani Roll and pork fried rice. The food was so delicious. For the Kani roll it has shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese, krab, sweet soy, chili Aioli and Tempura flakes. For the fried rice we ordered the pork fried rice. We went during g a happy hour, I highly suggest, as the prices are on the higher end. No kid kindly options available, maybe perhaps the gyoza. Both the gyoza and spicy edamame off the appetizer list were good. We tried the crab and salmon hand rolls which were tasty. The leche martini was delicious and dangerous all together. Couldn't get in to Jack's Chophouse next door so we tried Sushi Tiki. It's in an old house on Main Street. Patio bar in front with tables and a sushi bar inside. The interior is very tiki but question the choice of having a large Japanese battle flag and photo of a WWII Japan Imperial Army soldier as part of the design. Weird. Had a Mai Tai to start which was 'OK' - pretty heavy on the orgeat. Also pricey at $18 (I was at Trader Vic's in Tokyo last November; Mai Tai's were $14. In Tokyo!). Ordered chicken karaage which was good. Served with ranch and sweet and sour sauces. (Fusion?). My friend had a glass of red and 2 sirloin skewers ($28) for dinner. I unfortunately ordered the Mongolian Beef ($38) spicy style. It was almost inedible - *extremely* spicy (and I like spice). Indigestion followed. Ordered a scoop of Matcha ice cream ($6) to cool my mouth. Total for an app, Mai Tai, glass of red, 2 entrees and a scoop of ice cream was $145.56 not including tip. IMHO not worth it. But 3 stars for the karaage, service and weirdly cool interior. read more
