Prodded her with a good 30 minute wait after that Table next to us came in after us, had a similar meal including dessert and left 15 minutes before we did. What should have been a 1 hour dining experience for two turned into 130 minutes. It was Friday but not packed. Inside tables are tiny and crowded so that you're only 2' away from another table. May reservation for my anniversary here. Mistake on my part. After several text and reminders of my reservation I got there 5 mins to spare but I was informed my table was not ready. No place to seat inside and wait. So 100 degree outside was only choice. Told 10 mins that turned to 20 mins. Bread platter was first order. Chewy and gave my gums and teeth a workout. Order a pinto griego wine. Pinto is supposed to be dry but this was fruity and wet. (after a while a girl came by and wanted to fill my cup - glass is still half full- i told her it was not good and it was fruity, her responds was yes) Hard sell from waiter on have one special left. Chicken parm. $32 it better be wow moment. Ordered it and the ravioli. Chicken parm ok not best but not the worst, the spinach salad was so drenched in a lemon oil sauce- you could not taste the spinach... Ravioli oily and sauce broken. The Italian food is know let's the simple ingredients shine not over powered then. $100 with tip - not worth the wait or food. This place is a must try!... But don't go without a reservation! The staff immediately told my friends and I that they were completely booked and reservations are booked out 2 to 3 weeks in advance. They offered us the outdoor dining area, which has a limited dining menu, and the food is served on paper plates. They told us to check it out, and if we didn't like it, they said they would try to squeeze us in, but I don't think they had the heart to tell us they had no room as they were very passive aggressive afterwards. The restaurant is basically a converted house, so it's small. Fortunately, after waiting there a solid hour, my friend checked on Resy and found a reservation an hour later. We didn't say anything in hopes of getting seated sooner, but here we were 10 minutes to our reservation and no accommodations. When we went up to the front, they began to tell us that they still had no room, but then I informed them we had a reservation. We were seated a few minutes before our reservation time. Our server was really nice and acknowledged that we had waited a long time. He told us about the features for the night and helped explain some of their dishes. We ended up opting for the Polpette al Sugo, the Bruschetta Of The Day, the Pici Cacio e Pepe and the Pesto di Agrumi. Everything was so delicious! The Cacio E Pepe and Polpette al Sugo were our favorites. The pastas are served al dente. We stuck with that for our first experience, but I'd probably cook it down further next time. Quaint and true Rome/Italian style food. Started with a good bottle of red from Italy (DOCG) Next.....Suppli al Telefono, it was good but.... Disappointed that it was not hot or warm (cheese was not melted), it was room temperature at most. The Mix Bruschetta was excellent. My husband had Pai Cacio e Pepe, he loves this in Italy and it was the exact same, very good but not hot only room temp. I had Lasagna Bianca which was good, a little dry and not hot, room temp at most. We also shared the Carciofi alla Romana (braised artichokes), good not warm, cooked and had a pickled taste to them, probably would not have those again. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu, disappointed that it was more chocolate rather than coffee. We had 2 espresso martinis that were excellent and not sweet along with a Cappuccino. If we could make one recommendation, you need to figure out a new way of transferring food from the kitchen, from outside to the inside dining room. By the time it reaches the table it's Luke warm at most. Other than that you have a good thing going. Thank you for having us. read more

We celebrated my daughters 21st birthday at Bottega Salaria Sunday evening with a special dinner. This was our first time and we were blown away from our bread service, meat and cheese appetizer, wonderful Paccheri Pesto di Agrumi, and delicious Pasta with mussels. We finished off with the strawberry tiramisu which was to die for!! Make a reservation and come to this gem of a restaurant!! So happy we tried this place while visiting Fredericksburg. We stopped by Bottega Salaria for happy hour one night and loved it so much that we came back the very next evening for dinner! Everything about this place was wonderful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the food and drinks were some of the best we had during our trip to Fredericksburg. What really made it special, though, was how kind and welcoming the owners were. You can truly feel that this is a family-owned restaurant, and they genuinely care about their guests and the experience they provide. Our group tried 5 appetizers, 5 pastas, and 4 desserts, and honestly, there wasn't a single thing we didn't enjoy. The standouts for us were the Supplì Al Telefono, the Pici Cacio e Pepe, the donuts, and both the Aperol and Limoncello Spritzes. I'm also lactose intolerant, and the staff and chef were so accommodating and helpful when it came to modifying dishes and answering questions. It made such a difference to feel comfortable ordering, and my meal was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for authentic Roman cuisine, this place is a must-visit. The food is outstanding! The polpette al sugo was amazing. You can tell the big quality ingredients. The Ajo e Olio made me shake my head and wonder why mine comes nowhere near their dish in terms of taste and tenderness no matter how many recipes I try. My wife is somewhat of a bruschetta snob. I'm still thinking about our dinner at Bottega Solaria last night--it was that good. I haven't had Italian food like that since being in Italy. We started with the supplì, and it instantly took me back to the streets of Rome--crispy, savory, and really authentic. My husband had the cacio e pepe and said it reminded him of what we had in Italy. I ordered the octopus salad, which was absolutely delicious--fresh, well-balanced, and full of flavor. The vibe and the food were both incredible. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience that much better. We went on the third night and it was fantastic. I recommend going early like 6:30-7 because it gets really busy. I had a chicken dish that was amazing. Their desserts are some of the best I've ever had. Ice cream and tiramisu. The owner is a chef and very friendly - very personal touch. We will be coming back soon! read more

Service was excellent, everyone very pleasant and attentive. Fried calamari was good but could have used a little more time in the oil as the batter a bit pale and mushy. The ambiance was nice but could use a little more space between tables and better acoustics. Entrees were not good at all. Saltimbocca was wildly over cooked, veal was tough and dry, and the sauce had no flavor and was an unappetizing grey color. Fish of the day was a red snapper which was also over cooked and very little flavor. Both dishes arrived luke warm. We'll give it another try in a month or so and see if things improve. We've tried several dishes and they all hit the mark for preparation and presentation. I found a gem in Fredericksburg TX! Amazing Italian food, or more appropriately I should say Roman food. As owner Valario would point out! We started the night with some perfectly seasoned croquettes, the in house sommelier help us choose a very nice Pinot noir from a nice variety of wines. We then had two more appetizers bruschetta and artichoke hearts both were on point. The entrees were amazing stuffed Calamari with a suga sauce that I made sure to soak up every drop on my plate. The home made pasta in the other entree was cooked to perfection. I can't say enough of the ambiance it was invigorating and felt like you were in the place to be! The staff was attentive and made you feel special, "like if you were family". The restaurant itself self is very appealing from the outside to the cute decor on the inside. The outdoor dinning area is fabulous as well. We did choose to eat outdoors. This was an experience that will stay with me for a long time. I will be back. read more

Authentic Italian pastas! We had an amazing meal at Bottega Salaria. Our party had three different pastas and they were all delicious. We started with a salad and artichoke appetizer which were also both very good. I loved the atmosphere and that both the owners were walking around greeting the guests. They really do make you feel like family. The space inside is gorgeous and the outdoor patio is welcoming. We didn't walk out to the causal back patio where they take walk-ins. But I'm glad they have it available in case I ever forget to make a reservation. And yes....reservations are a must, particularly on a weekend. I'm ready for my next meal at Bottega Salaria. Next time I'll go right into the pasta and skip the starters! read more

Can't recommend coming here as a walk in, this location treats walk-ins extremely unfairly by making you feel like you're an inconvenience, forcing you to order "family style" meals (extremely limited in options) and seat you in a distant corner away from everything else. They served us wine in paper cups, when glasses were clearly available, provided disposable plates, and worst of all is they group all the walk-ins together at a single very long table without any room for negotiation. This is the experience has all been before the food has been served and has clearly set the bar 6 feet under before having even one bite of food. read more

A charming place! With a wonderful owner/host Valerio- from Roma, so he ne knows authentic Italian cuisine! Lovely wines, Italian sundries for sale, a lively, warm atmosphere, good wines, and food. Indoor and outdoor patio seating. The service was wonderful as well. A few things- (mind you, they've just recently opened)- I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli- wonderful taste- but I would serve with more butter and Sage sauce. Also, I would offer parmesean and fresh pepper at the tables as the meal is served. We missed out on the Bolognese Lassagna special, (so good, it ran out!), and I would offer it on the regular menu. I also tried the "Strangozzi alla Ternana - Handmade pasta with Mushroom and Truffle" which our server described as in an olive oil and mushroom sauce- but there were no mushrooms- so it was quite bland. We were told that one Chef was unable to come to work that night, so they printed a simplified menu, and I'm sure missing a Chef, in a full restaurant, was not easy on anybody! The Tiramisu fluffy, light, perfect, the ice cream I didn't want, but gobbled up-scrumptious! One other thing- I noticed the servers were sonetimes having to repeat full descriptions of items on the menu- so maybe the menu could be more specific? Just a suggestion! But a lovely night, in a beautiful new addition to Fredericksburg! So glad Valerio and his lovely wife are here! read more
