Very delish and filling food, waitress was very attentive and nice. It was fun to cook the food and you get more than what you pay for

BYOB, classy atmosphere and amazing food. Great service also. We enjoyed all 4 courses! It's a family run business, they even remodeled the building themselves. Call for a reservation. The patio will be nice when the weather warms up. We chose the peach and house salads, seafood and steak and the turtle chocolate. Everything was delicious! We will be back whenever we visit again.

I have been looking for a good fondue restaurant in Texas and this place delivered. Wayne was super cool and welcoming. Food was delicious. The pepper steak, salmon, and shrimp were our favorites. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a relaxed environment, and great menu options, you MUST try this place. Also, there is no corking fee!

The castle-like architecture, expansive grounds, and overall atmosphere make it feel like a destination rather than just a brewery. In terms of size and majestic ambiance, it reminded me of Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, New York. We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and still had about a 30-minute wait for a table. Fortunately, that wasn't a problem because we were able to enjoy a beer while waiting and take in the scenery. The property is large enough that exploring it becomes part of the experience. The beer selection is heavily focused on German styles, which was perfect for me. Whether you enjoy lagers, pilsners, bocks, or wheat beers, there is something for every fan of traditional German brewing. One of the fun touches is that many of the beers are available in liter size pours, adding to the authentic beer hall experience. The food menu is inspired by classic German cuisine, but it also offers a wide variety of other options, including some more upscale dishes. This makes it easy for everyone in a group to find something they will enjoy. Everything we ordered was excellent, with generous portions and high-quality ingredients. Beyond the food and beer, the atmosphere is what really makes this place special. The combination of the castle setting, beautiful grounds, German-inspired traditions, and excellent hospitality creates an experience that feels unique and memorable. Overall, this is far more than just a brewery. It's a destination worth visiting whether you're a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a great meal in a remarkable setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly return.

We were seated upstairs, which I highly recommend as it is a cozy room and is noticeably quieter than the large downstairs area. This is a Texas-themed restaurant with an expansive Texas wine and beer list. We began our night with two perfect Martinis and their Comp carrot soup. Our App, the pepper jack Lobster boudin balls, was unique and delicious. Plus one ordered the Filet, and it was cooked perfectly with a nice char and a medium red center. I went full throttle Texan with the chicken-fried ribeye. I'm not a chicken-fried guy, but man, was this delicious. The breading was lite and the steak was oh so tender. Our Ron Yates Cab was a perfect complement to our entrees. Service throughout our meal was very attentive, and the atmosphere made for a wonderful evening. Let's get the good out of the way - the food was what we expected. No complaints there. If you've been to The Melting Pot, you'll know what to expect and I didn't notice any difference in quality there. The restaurant looks just like the others inside. We were seated relatively quickly after arriving. Now, the really not good. Our waitress was the worst server we have ever experienced and I'm not exaggerating. In our probably hour or more there, I think we saw her for a total of 5 minutes? Including while she was at the table preparing the food. She disappeared constantly and would be gone for 10 or more minutes without checking in. I asked her for a water refill, waited so long for her to return that I decided to flag down a different waiter, got a refill from him, and then DRANK THAT WHOLE GLASS before she ever came back. Still wiithout a refill for me. When our salads came, she had no dressing for mine. She left to go get it and didn't come back until the others had fully finished their salads. I ordered a strawberry lemonade when we first sat down. It never came and so we asked about it at dessert to make sure it wouldn't be on the check, and before we could finish asking, she said 'OH!' and left, and then came back 5 min later with it. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to drink with my chocolate. She never asked if we were celebrating anything even though there were two birthday tables next to us whose wait staff made HUGE deals about their birthdays, AND it was on the reservation notes. Here's the thing. She never apologized for any of the wait times, or disappearing, or forgetting things. Even after all of the mishaps, my review would have been a 4 star if she'd ever once acknowledged how comically bad it was all going. This experience was so bad that I had to share it. Usually I gloss over less than stellar service, but this deserved to be immortalized.

Located in La Cantera and adjacent to Perry's, it's a large location but parking can be a bit tricky at times. It's loud, so don't come here if you're looking for quiet and intimate. More or less a hang out, kick it with friends kinda vibe. By the door, they have chewy caramels that you can nosh on while waiting for your table or to grab on your way out. Maybe we did both? lol they even sell some small apothecary type stuff as well. Ok let's get to the food! We got the crab cake and the colossal cinnamon roll to start. The kids loved the colossal cinnamon roll. Perfectly balanced with a toffee sauce and spiced pecans. Husband wanted savory so he got the crab cake. It's not Maryland style but it uses gulf crab and a mustardy-seed mix. He and the eldest really enjoyed it! Me, I liked the pickled onions and frisée. I got the steak & eggs hash with a sunny side up egg and medium steak. The steak was just right and had a good flavor. The shishito peppers could've used a touch of salt but they were a good contrast to the crispy fried potatoes, which were large chunks by the way. If only I could have a whole saucier of the avocado hollandaise . It was delicious on the potatoes and the steak! The shrimp and grits were definitely diff from the version we had last year but we liked it! Very vibrant and fresher tasting! The eldest had chicken and waffle. Comes with 2 tenders, 2 eggs your way (she chose sunny side), 1 waffle, syrup and creamy sausage gravy. I normally don't care for sausage gravy but this was NTS! The youngest had the kids Macaroni and cheese, which comes with your choice of 1 side (we chose green beans). We were pleasantly surprised to see it also came with carrots, which she happily ate. Like and crunchy green beans with a creamy and cheesy Mac! Servers don't hover and there's plenty walking around if you need to grab someone's attention for something. I'm gonna miss this establishment when we move back to the east coast

Very rustic country location and once inside you know you are in a Texas country BBQ. Staff was friendly and helpful choosing our food. They suggested going with the family portions to share which was perfect. For 3 people we ordered 1/2 lb each of lean brisket (moist also available), turkey, and garlic sausage. For sides we went with coleslaw and charro beans. Way too much food for us, but perfect for a large leftover plate. Consensus of all three of us was: -Brisket had a perfect blackened crust, with a good red smoke ring. Very little fat and still very moist meat. 7 of 5 stars! -Turkey was well seasoned, very flavorful, and smoked to perfection. 6 of 5 stars! -Garlic sausage was the home run here. When we ordered they only had the garlic one left. I was hesitant to order expecting a strong garlic flavor. It was the perfect garlic hint of flavor with the amazing in-house made sausage. Outer skin had a snap when you bit into it and the flavor of the sausage is a melody of bbq flavor that overwhelms the taste buds. 10 of 5 stars! -Coleslaw was vinegary with some fresh sliced red pepper and fresh jalapeños which was a good touch. 5 of 5 stars. -Charro beans were flavored to perfection. 5 of 5 stars. -And we can't forget the bbq sauce. This was the perfect pairing for the meat. Obviously house made with the perfect balance between spicey and sweetness. Wife and I both said it was the best we ever had. Blows away the sauce from our favorite bbq location here in San Antonio. Another 10 of 5 stars! Fresh squeezed lemonade for all of us and they brought us free refills. I wanted to get this for my book club soiree, but did not have time to make a visit as it is a little north of downtown. Antonelli's Cheese Shop is charming and quaint. While the shop is small they have an assortment of items to sell in addition to cheese - wine, sauces, jellies, etc. I was immediately greeted upon entry into Antonelli's cheese shop. Two other customers were being helped, however, I had a store associate offer me some cheese samples. While the samples were good, I was specifically interested in the three cream cheese. They had two choices to select from. I was hoping they had more. This is a shop you need to spend some time in to leisurely evaluate the cheeses. There was also a human size dog in the shop at the time. I don't know what is about dogs, they like to lick me. Guess what...I do not like to be licked. So, I jetted out of the store.

They have wine, jams/jelly/preserves. Chocolates, and olives. They also have premade charcuterie boards too. When I came, they were giving away free cheese everyday of the week. The first 100 people that were in line. Free cheese? Yes please. As you can imagine, there was a long line of people waiting, and with the store being small, we were sent in in small groups. Couple people come out, couple people go in. As the line shortens and you get to the counter. You're given your free cheese, and asked what type of cheese you like. I gave my favorites, soft cheese, like brie, hard cheese, like manchego I like spicy cheese like hatched chili cheese or a jalapeño cheese. So after giving some examples of cheese that I like the gentleman helping me brought out three different samples and we tried them together and loved every one of them so I chose which ones I liked out of the three and then we moved down the counter a little bit, and the gentleman brought out another selection of three cheeses, and I tried those and told him which ones I liked, and they were all phenomenal. The gentleman that helped me was very attentive. He listened. he gave examples exactly what I was asking for and it was absolutely beautiful experience. even though they were packed and crazy and had 100 people waiting outside. He just treated me like we were just one on one. He took his time with me. I thought it was such a spectacular experience very personable. I walked out with 5 different cheeses. A bar of orange chocolate with dried cherries. And a baguette. And let me tell you, I ate so good during our Texas ice storm 2026! So here's the down side. Parking. There are like 8 parking spots in front. And a couple parking in the back. But beyond the back, there is a small pay with a QR code parking. It's a bit of a struggle as far as parking goes. There is no street parking. But I'm sure when you're not dealing with 100 customers it's not as much of a struggle. There are 2 accessible parking spots out front. Had a great experience. And will come back again.
