They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, this place is pretty much The Melting Pot. Perhaps maybe slightly better. The food was very good and they give you plenty of items. Sadly, I didn't take any photos of the cheese or dessert fondue accoutrements. I just couldn't wait to dig in! We ordered their 2 for $99 deal, which is four courses: For the salad course we tried the Hill Country Peach. It was sweet and fresh. The vinaigrette was described as sweet and tangy. However, it was more on the sweet side. I would definitely order this salad again though. We decided on the Swiss Onion cheese fondue. Super flavorful and ooey and gooey! We are talking some great cheese pulls here. We both opted for the steak favorites and added a lobster tail. They were all very good and seasoned well. The standouts were the buttered garlic ribeye, peppered sirloin and the teriyaki steak. The lobster came as a split tail, perfect for sharing. Finally, the best part...dessert!! We chose the Turtle chocolate fondue and it was delicious. It was very hard to decide on which one to try, as they all sounded delicious. You can't go wrong with Turtle though. Chocolate, caramel and nuts. Yum! I actually added one of the marshmallows to the fondue, because I thought the Rocky Road option sounded good. It definitely added that extra gooey texture that I was missing. The one downside was that we ordered Cokes, and they tasted really bad. Our server mentioned that they had been having some issues with their beverage machine. She was nice enough to have someone change out the syrup and brought us 2 fresh drinks. Unfortunately, it tasted almost as bad. Not sure if it was just bad syrup at that point, but it actually tasted as if they had mixed lemon-lime Gatorade and Coke together. It was definitely not something that I wanted to drink. Overall it was a great experience. Very reasonable prices, considering it is on Main Street, where just about everywhere you go is pricey. It is very cozy and funky on the inside and by that, I mean small, and they must like to shop on Wayfair. Lol. They also have outdoor seating as well. The final verdict is, that we will definitely be back.

BYOB, classy atmosphere and amazing food. Great service also. We enjoyed all 4 courses! It's a family run business, they even remodeled the building themselves. Call for a reservation. The patio will be nice when the weather warms up. We chose the peach and house salads, seafood and steak and the turtle chocolate. Everything was delicious! We will be back whenever we visit again.

I have been looking for a good fondue restaurant in Texas and this place delivered. Wayne was super cool and welcoming. Food was delicious. The pepper steak, salmon, and shrimp were our favorites. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a relaxed environment, and great menu options, you MUST try this place. Also, there is no corking fee!

Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.

NOTES: - Reservations: available online through Resy - Parking: free street parking nearby within walking distance - Online ordering: available on their website through ToastTab for pickup - The bistro is located on the bottom level of the building (go in the doors and head down the stairs) THE HIGHS: - Beautiful interior with moody lighting and comfortable seating - Attentive servers and dishes are cleared quickly - Food is presented beautifully - Grilled lamb rack is PHENOMENAL - Their "legendary cookies" are thick, chunky, and delicious THE LOWS: - Very pricey and the menu prices were more expensive than what was on their website (lamb rack online was $47 but at the restaurant was $56) - Pistachio tiramisu barely had any pistachio flavor... there was a sprinkle of crushed pistachio on top but that was about it and the flavor didn't carry throughout THE PRICE: Expensive for the portion size (good quality but not justified by the price) - Large blood orange sparkling water ($12) - Seafood gratin ($28) - Mediterranean pizza ($31) - Grilled lamb rack ($56) - Pistachio tiramisu ($19) - Dark chocolate hazelnut cookie ($8) The total was $166.71 after tax ($12.71) but before tip. BEST BITES: - Grilled lamb rack (cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful, and the herbed tzatziki on the side is amazing) - Dark chocolate hazelnut cookie (get one to go if you're too full... you won't regret it) THE VERDICT: This was my first visit to Vaudeville (it came highly recommended) and I enjoyed my meal overall. With how expensive it is, I don't think I'll be returning and probably would only recommend it to others if they really want to splurge and don't have any other options.

We found exactly that. Our servers/owner--Felix, Parker, and Eylon (apologies if I butchered the spelling)--were absolute gems. Kind, chill, and genuinely welcoming. The whole vibe was 10/10. I've never been to Israel, but somehow it felt like we were there. I can't fully explain it. We ordered the hummus with the works and the falafel plate from the lunch menu. Incredible. We still can't stop talking about how good it was. The food was a solid 10/10. We have zero pictures because we were fully immersed in the experience. The best way I can describe it is love and peace in every bite. It felt like a baptism. Like we were close to Jesus. I know that sounds insane, but eating here honestly felt like a spiritual experience. It's now a core memory. I couldn't recommend this place more. Thank you. Also, I'm not even religious.

Shortly after arriving, I went to the restroom and encountered a member of the kitchen staff coming out while still wearing his apron. After using the restroom myself, I went to wash my hands and discovered that both soap dispensers were completely empty. Obviously, I can't say what the employee did before leaving the restroom because I wasn't inside with him, but there was no soap available from either dispenser when I attempted to wash my own hands immediately afterward. Seeing a kitchen employee leave that restroom and then discovering there was no soap available was enough for us to lose confidence in eating there. We had intended to stay for food, but instead we paid for the Prosecco my wife had already ordered and left. Hopefully this was simply an oversight and management addresses it, because something as basic as having soap available in a restaurant restroom--particularly one being used by food-service employees--is important. Unfortunately, based on what we observed, we weren't comfortable staying for a meal.

Unfortunately, this experience felt less like a restaurant opening and more like a dress rehearsal no one stopped. First problem: location confusion. We went to what turned out to be their second spot--which, crucially, was not called Nurys on the sign. Same ownership, new space, old identity crisis. Walking in felt like entering a building that hadn't yet decided what it wanted to be when it grew up. The lingering aroma? A strange duet of fish, antiseptic, and industrial cleaning agents. Not hunger-inducing. More "urgent care with a fryer." There was no one there, which made sense--it was between brunch and lunch--but somehow the wait for food felt disproportionately long for what arrived. What arrived, sadly, was mediocrity wearing a Tex-Mex costume. They seemed to be aiming for Tex-Mex but landed somewhere closer to Tex-Flex--stretching flavors thin until they snapped. The barbacoa was fatty in a way that suggested less "slow-cooked tradition" and more "glistening regret." It didn't taste authentic, or even especially intentional. Just heavy. The guacamole--perhaps the most unforgivable offense--was bad. Guacamole is avocados, salt, lime, and love. That's it. This had none of the above. The waitstaff wasn't rude, exactly--just possessed by the clear energy of people who would prefer you to finish quickly so they could resume their real lives. Hospitality should feel like an invitation, not a countdown. Now, maybe the original Nurys is wonderful. I hope it is. But if that's the case, why open a second location only to phone it in? Expansion should mean excellence multiplied, not care divided. There are too many good places in Fredericksburg doing things right to settle for something half-hearted. This one wasn't terrible--it was worse. It was forgettable. And that's the real disappointment.

Right away, the service felt off. Our waitress didn't even ask if we wanted drinks before jumping straight to, "Are you ready to order food?" Then she disappeared for long periods, even though we were basically her only table besides one other couple. The food was extremely underwhelming -- basic, barely warm, and nothing memorable. On top of that, there were so many flies inside that we were nonstop swatting them away. And to make matters worse, there was a bug in my drink when it was served to me. That was pretty much the final straw. Overall, a very forgettable and disappointing experience. We probably won't come again, and I would not recommend it.

It's great the way it is, and trying to make it fancy doesn't make it better. One of us had the schnitzel au gratin, which seemed more to be like a chicken Parmesan. I had the duck schnitzel. I would say they were just both OK. The fried potatoes that came with the au gratin schnitzel were left largely untouched on my companion's plate.
