Customer service is average, good amount of seating, and everything we ordered came out hot and fresh. The menu is massive and they offer endless varieties of sushi rolls. The portions are big as well. The takoyaki and assorted tempura came out piping hot and tasty! We ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl, and 3 sushi rolls. The deep fried rolls were on the heavy side so I'd try a regular roll next time. If you want to try a deep fried roll, order the Big Sur roll. We couldn't finish everything and ended up taking the leftovers home. While this isn't the best sushi restaurant in the area, what they serve is still taste good and it's more catered to western taste buds vs authentic Japanese sushi restaurants. Decent food and service. You will get full here and feel good. Only couple things that caught my eye were the restrooms -- there was no cover on the soap dispenser and the soap dispenser didn't work. So we didn't really have a way of washing our hands. Especially during covid it's really important to be able to wash your hands but luckily we had some hand sanitizer. read more

In town on business and was looking for something good to eat after an entire day of traveling. In reading the reviews and seeing how many people enjoyed the food at Sushi Time, I was excited for dinner. Unfortunately, my experience was different from others that frequent the restaurant. First of all, the restaurant's cleanliness is lacking. In fact, as I sat at the sushi bar...a roach, half-inch in length, crawled back and forth in front of me. At first I thought I was seeing things, but I was wrong. It was a roach. I pointed this out to the sushi chef in front of me and he grabbed a paper towel and grabbed it and threw it in the trash. There was no acknowledgement or apology or embarrassment. The only positive was that I saw him wash his hands for about a minute after killing the roach. Other reviewers commented on how fresh the sushi is at this restaurant. As stated, I sat at the sushi bar...not sure about others, but I like my sushi or sashimi cut when I place my order. At this place, all the fish has been sliced sitting inside the refrigeration case and it did not look or taste incredibly fresh. It was dollar sushi night, so maybe due to the volume they sell on these nights, they need to pre-cut all the fish in order to keep up with orders - not sure. I am not a fan of seeing piles of cut fish. Speaking of dollar sushi night...the fish itself was cut paper thin with a disproportionate amount of rice. I would have preferred to have paid regular price for a better fish to rice ratio. My wife's chicken sesame entree was terrible, the chicken was dry and bland with not enough sauce and flavor, her saving grace was going to be the salad but complained of the flavor and could not eat. I returned her entree later as it was Togo and the two employees were in disbelief and had told me that no one ever complained of their food!!! I've been working in the restaurant industry for 20 years as a chef and this was definitely the worst sesame chicken I've ever tried. After they explained that they could not refund one entree.....16 dollars! The very rude lady also challenged me to leave a review. The 4 piece of sushi was very large and had a big piece of fish which is very nice. The yellowtail and the albacore were both high quality, but the tuna was very dry, not fresh and stringy. The yellowtail roll was ok. I also ordered the baked green mussels for $5.99 which came with 5 pieces of dried up, not fresh mussels that were very plain and chewy. rather disgusting. Then I ordered the ninja roll and that was flavorful but had waaaay too much rice. Parking was easy, bathrooms were not very clean. Service was ok. Hot tea is $1.50. I saw "Sushi Time" sign as I was driving on Fremont on a Wednesday. Decided to give it a try as my husband was hungry and didn't want to cook dinner. So glad we did! We only tried their daily special which was 2 special rolls + 1 maki roll for $24. I must say their Big Sur roll was very delicious. Very generously filled with fresh fish and the sauce they use was great (got a nice kick to it but wasn't overpowering). Kira Kira roll was good too, it had a very nice heat to it as they put jalapeño in it. I still liked big Sur roll over this one but I'd love to try different ones next time we come here. Service was great, very friendly, quick and attentive. As two little ones we brought along were napping, we brought in a pretty big double stroller. We haven't been here in a while. They've painted the inside of restaurant black and added some cute white lights. They've added some new appetizers like Japanese style French fries, potato croquettes and takoyaki. All of our food was really underwhelming. The salads were warm and the lettuce was limpy. The Miso soups were room temperature not even warm. The spicy Tuna rolls were unimaginative and boring but atleast there was 8 pieces. My Eel and avocado roll was sliced so tiny with hardly any sauce, only 6 small pieces. The Nori was rubbery. The tempura sauce didn't have much flavor and was room temperature as well. My shrimp tempura was on the dry side. I didn't see any low sodium soy sauce anywhere. The quality has really gone down hill here. The service was friendly but inattentive. 1st time here. Kind and helpful service. Good prices. Got our food fast. No trouble bringing the baby in with the car seat. We came in at 2:30 on a Sat and were the only patrons. But by 3:30 the place was full which was great to see. They promptly had 2 more servers to accommodate for the rush. Everything we ordered was tasty. Got the gyoza, Golden California roll, Dragon roll, Inari, and Salmon skin hand roll. My favorite was the Tofu Teriyaki appetizer which was crispy on the outside and soft inside and wasn't overdone with the teriyaki sauce. This is one of our new favorite sushi spots! read more

I'm a Harumi fan, but they were way too busy last night, so gave Sushi Time a try. Absolutely not disappointed! I love the decor. Lots of rustic wood details make it feel homey and comfortable, and stylish white lights add a touch of class. We started with a cold sake and hot tea. Didn't love the shot glasses for the sake. It just doesn't present well. Why not provide a nice sake glass for us sake lovers? The unfiltered sake was yummy though, and the tea pot was really cute. We had agedashi which we almost always have when we go out to sushi. The batter was kind of chewy instead of crisp. When soaked in the sauce, it became a little slimy. Good flavor though. Then we had three rolls. We had the Omega3, the Kira Kira, and the Alien. Really likes the Kira Kira! It has jalapeño which added a serious kick! The others were kind of blah. Both had eel which I love, but it took over the flavor of the other ingredients. The Alien, for example, was advertised to have soft shell crab. Couldn't taste it at all. Overall, would definitely go back again. Great price point, nice atmosphere, and good service. This is the most consistent sushi place I have found for myself in the area. I haven't had a roll I don't like here. Big boy roll is *chefs kiss*, the hibachi teriyaki is a second favorite! You can never go wrong with the Chicken Katsu, gyoza dumplings, and some miso for lunch! The have great staff and provide quick service and I've never had anything be wrong here. We arrived at 11:55 am on Saturday, November 12. The door was open, and when I say open, it was held open. We started to walk in and the lady stated, "huh, we do not open until noon." I do not know why the door was open. And we really thought they opened at 11:30. We have been here so many times before Saturday. We also do not know why she could not have said, "come in and look at a menu." I am still setting up, because we open at noon. We would have waited outside. Instead, we left. I have been to Sushi Time over a hundred times. The sushi is decent for the price, or should I say was. Prices have gone up and the fish fishy just isn't getting overlooked anymore. The serving sizes constantly change.. I went around 4pm which placed me purchasing a dinner entree rather than the lunch. Lunch portion is priced at 14.95 and the dinner 21.95.. that is a huge jump in price FOR THE SAME PORTION OF FOOD. Not once in my life has a sushi place given the same portions for lunch and dinner.. ridiculous. When I brought it up to my server the owner stated that THEY GIVE THE SAME PORTION FOR LUNCH AND DINNER. Call me crazy, but I'm wondering why I am paying $6 more for a small portion. read more

This place really went downhill. The quality of food and descent prices used to be a match made in heaven. Came here recently and took 35 minutes to receive food and all we ordered was a salmon roll, cucumber and veggie roll, and an "Arigato Roll." Arigato roll was supposed to come with eel inside - and there was none. Also, the cucumber roll and veggie roll my mom ordered was a mess and not even cut all the way through.
