It was a long weekend, Martin Luther King Jr's holiday and went to visit our son and his girlfriend when we went to this Japanese place. It was small but it was packed. We ordered a Bento box and various California rolls. They were all tasted good and we enjoyed all of them. The servers were very attentive and checked on us every now and then. We will definitely go back here.

The food was yummy and satisfying! My favorites were the Monster Roll, Fire Roll, and Santa Barbara Roll. The Monster roll had a good crunch from the tempura. I liked the spiciness from the Fire Roll. The Santa Barbara roll had good flavor and I loved the seared Salmon on top. The service was good and the waitress helped us pick out rolls when she realized we were all going to order the same one. The restaurant is small but has a good vibe and plenty of tables. There's also a small sushi bar section.

So yummy!! The fish was extremely fresh and beat a lot of my favorite places! The ambiance was super ambient! The fish ratio and rice ratio was great and served super fresh. I havent had salmon that good in awhile! The Jessica Roll was SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS (10/10) The wait time was a little long for the food, but everything was fresh and amazing! Definitely coming back. They gave us all macarons even though it was only one per table! So sweet! Amazing service.

Presentation was great but the food didn't taste fresh. My wife and I were both sick for two days. And they overcharged my card for some reason. They had a worker that was sneezing and coughing and wiping her nose.

We went on an impulse on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is clean and friendly. There was a good crowd but the staff were attentive. We both went with the 6 piece sushi and roll combination plate. The sushi is chef's choice and we were pleased with his selections in serving size, plate presentation and freshness. The shrimp tempura roll was a tasty upgrade we made. The miso soup also had nice flavor and didn't seem like It was the all too common too salty powder mix. We added an order of the 2 piece bluefin tuna which was a generous size and topped with fresh wasabi. The pieces were again fresh and pleasant. We sat at a table but the patrons at the bar seemed to be able to engage with the friendly sushi chefs. We would come back again.

Stopped by here and tried out a few things on the menu. Started with the Gyoza and a couple Takoyaki's. The Takoyaki's were decent, had a crunchy but soft inside texture to it. Overall not too bad, the Gyoza's were alright as well, decent flavor dipped with the sauce.The Santa Barbara roll on the other hand was delicious, warm, flavorful and just right. I also had a baked salmon roll and that was also very good. Warm salmon glazed with sauce, very good. Overall one of the best sushi spots I've had so far. Takoyaki: 7.1 Gyoza: 7.5 Santa Barbara Roll: 8.4 Baked Salmon Roll: 8.2

What's not to like about this place? But sometimes the waiting for the food can be brutal when they are backed up with takeout orders plus dine in orders. It's always a good idea to place in at least one kitchen hot food along with your sushi orders cuz hot food is made in the kitchen and it comes out fairly quick, and you can enjoy that while waiting for your order of sushi/rolls. Despite the long wait the food is always so fresh. Love it! My tummy is always full and happy.

The sashimi platter impressed from the first bite. The fish tasted fresh and clean. Each slice held smooth texture and rich flavor. The tuna stood out. Soft, buttery, and deep in flavor. The salmon tasted bright and tender. Yellowtail brought a mild sweetness. The chef sliced each piece with care. Thick enough for texture. Thin enough for balance. The platter arrived with fresh wasabi, pickled ginger, and crisp shredded daikon. Each bite felt simple and pure.

I was really craving sushi, and since downtown Riverside was crowded because of the Festival of Lights, I decided to try a spot a little farther away. It seemed like the ideal spot to have dinner and satisfy my craving. When we went (around 9pm), it was quite empty. Plenty of parking but I think its shared with an apartment complex. You can sit at the bar or a table. The servers were friendly and attentive when it came to filling our waters. There are 3 tvs inside, playing sports highlights. In total, we ordered 4 rolls. Two of them took quite a while to come out. When they did. It wasnt what I had ordered. So then we had to wait more time. I had looked forward to my cucumber roll but it was more thickly sliced than im used to and the cucumber didnt taste as fresh. It took a bit to communicate the mix up. I think it was partially due to multiple waiters coming to our table and none writing what we requested down. Overall, not a memorable experience. The sapporo roll wasn't bad though.

This is probably the worst Japanese food I have ever eaten...the curry was bland and watery and the rice was dried out. The sushi was cut in all different sizes. The man that runs it is super rude, I started to walk away-I should have...will not be back. read more

Just opening the bag smelled like old fish. The smelt egg sushi was past its prime. I hope we don't get sick. Has the chef lost their sense of smell and sight? My husband said the yellowtail collar was also fishy. The lobster (crawfish) roll had weird salt seasoning on it that was off. I asked for no eel sauce and they put extra eel sauce instead. A big fail for $90. Not ordering from them again. read more

The service was good and the food was good. The only downside is lack of parking. I have been to this restaurant 3 times now. The sushi is good and is reasonably priced. We tried the Japanese curry once and was disappointed. I would only go for the sushi. read more

This place was so delicious. They are open late too. Great selection of hot and raw selections. Good alcohol menu as well. The ambience inside of the place is very friendly and welcoming. It's nice that they have a bar and different TV selections all around the area. Place was very clean and kept up. The food was amazing. I was hesitant to try a new sushi place because I'm picky but the baked albacore and the dragon roll were better than most sushi places I've tried. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the spicy edamame, the flavor was a bit odd to me. The owner is also very kind and makes sure you have what you need. read more

I found this place to be quite disappointing for its given rating. I came here with a friend after school to grab something to eat. The wait wasn't particularly long, however we were seated with no menu. It took a ridiculous amount of time to the point where I had to scavenge the place for a menu. Weirdly enough, this was not the case for customers sitting at the bar as they immediately received theirs upon sitting. Not only that, but we ordered the Alaskan roll and the King Dragon roll. The Alaskan roll was pretty refreshing and had a citrus flavor, however if you're a bit on the sensitive side for flavors this might not be the best, as it's somewhat strong. The King Dragon roll was awful, the shrimp was beyond stale and the sauce used was ridiculously sweet. It tastes.. "store bought" and not in a good way. These two dishes totaled to around $35, which for its quality is overpriced and not worth it. I've tried food all over the world, and this place is just not worth it. read more

Went for late lunch/early dinner and stayed til 9! We were a group of 8 that sat at the bar and the experience was AMAZING! The fish was SO fresh! I must say the food is really good here. The restaurant is nice & clean as well. My dislike is the lack of customer service. It was only a couple ppl there & still we had to wave the waiter down anytime we needed something. It took 4ever to receive the check & pay for our meals too . When we finally get the checks there's 15% gratuity + they still ask for an additional tip on the receipt . I enjoyed the good but overall I will not be returning here again. read more

Garbage. A bunch of fluff. Both my rolls only had imitation crab meat and old tasting fish. If you're a student in the area, save yourself the $40 and take your business elsewhere. Sushi R91 and asahi do a more descent job. read more

We recently moved to the neighborhood and looked up a place to get sushi on Yelp. We were pleasantly surprised when the 4.5 stars didn't do this place justice. This is by far the best sushi we have had. My husband just kept raving about it during the meal and still keeps mentioning it two hours later. He's already planning which friends we need to bring in the future. Thank you so much for serving such high quality and delicious sushi and for the friendly and quick service. I'm sorry but every time I order over the phone they never have my order ready when I get there. They say 15 minutes but don't start your order until you get there. They have great sushi but if they can't get their shit together just taking orders over the phone who knows what else they mess up. read more

My favorite roll is the baked lobster ! I've also tried a fresh mango crunch roll and the sweet and salty taste is delicious ! Because of covid ive only done phone orders , they've gotten my order correct each time . On Saturday dinner time it could be up to an hour wait time so make sure to call in before you get hangry lol read more

Came at around 2pm today. Ate the fish and about two hours later came the diarrhea. I thought it was suspicious at first when the host asked me if the fish was good; proceeded to ask about my race and if I was Chinese. After I said yes, the Japanese staff had a giggle. Little did I know that following the semi systemic racist encounter that a bad stomache would follow afterwards. Lesson learned read more

My boyfriend and I love sushi. We haven't been living in riverside for too long so we're still trying to get to know the area. We have a home sushi spot in Orange County we used to go to all the time but we got tired of driving so far out so we decided to finally give this local place a shot. We LOVED everything we ordered. And such amazing customer service. Very attentive and very kind, they made it so easy for us to enjoy our time there. So this place really deserves more than five stars. The food is down right delicious (see comments below if you don't belive me). Anything on the menu will leave your taste buds satisfied, your stomach full, and your mind craving more. Try the unagi roll if you want something sweet, or the chicken curry if you need to warm up. If you really can't make up your mind ask one of the works. I recommend ordering through the app or over the phone before you arrive. Food this good at this price takes a little to make (I've never waited more than 15minutes though for two rolls + curry). However if you decide to wait you will find the staff and even the owners are incredibly professional and laid back. They have been fully following the COVID-19 guidelines with all employees wearing masks and eliminating their indoor dining. While they are eager to get back to full business, they care about the community they serve. Will be eating here at least once a week!! read more

This was by far the best sushi/ ramen experience I've ever had! From the gyozas to the customer service, 15/10. My husband and I took our toddler son and they even surprised us with a mini sushi roll for him. This is the only sushi/ramen spot I will go to now, they set the standard high. read more

My family's new go to sushi spot! We had a big party and their party platters were perfect for us. We ordered the biggest one (I think it's called Great King's platter or something along that line) as well as the 64 piece California roll platter and a couple of the mixed tempuras to top it off. Everything was organized neatly and was visually appealing. Fish tasted fresh and tempura was still crispy by the time we took the food home. It seems to be a family owned business. Staff was kind and friendly. Make sure to call ahead to give them some time to prepare your order. read more

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant and, unfortunately, our experience with the service was disappointing. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, yet we stood at the entrance for about five minutes without being greeted or seated. We eventually looked over the menu on our own before someone finally sat us. After being seated, it took roughly 20 minutes for our waitress to take our order, and another 30 minutes before our food arrived. Throughout our meal, we were never checked on or asked if we needed anything, including refills for our water, which we were only offered after we had already paid the bill. While waiting for our food, we also overheard a highly inappropriate exchange between another customer and the waitress. The customer made an offensive comment about ordering a "Mexican roll" despite "not liking Mexicans," and the waitress responded with "that's understandable." Comments like this are unacceptable in any workplace and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. The food itself was great, and the cooks were very kind, but the service and the unprofessional behavior we witnessed left us disappointed. Because of this, we did not feel comfortable leaving a tip. We hope the management will address these issues so future guests can have a better experience. read more

The Tonkatsu Ramen is very good. The noodles are cooked perfectly soaked with the flavor of the pork broth. The pork is cooked perfectly, the egg is flavorful and the fish cakes are delicious in general. The service was excellent and well on following the instructions or orders. I always come here after my closing shifts at work and their atmosphere is so welcome and calming. Their philadelphia rolls, their ramen, and appetizers are always a go to for me.
