Nice bright space with plenty of seating when we arrived for a late lunch. We were seated and our beverage orders were taken. Our server was very friendly and offered suggestions as I had not been there before. My grand daughter suggested it as she was impressed when she had gone last month. We obtained an appetizer of spicy shrimp and it was absolutely delicious. The shrimp was cooked beautifully. It was just the right size to be able to pop it in your mouth, but still get a good shrimp flavor the spicey honey glaze-YUMMO! We ordered and a cup of miso soup arrived pronto. I wish I had paid more attention to what came with my order as I don't care for Miso -my granddaughter said it was delicious so I will take her word for that. Not long after her rolls arrived. They were huge and looked delicious. The fish looked so colorful and fresh and she confirmed they were delicious. I decided to try a bento box with sesame chicken and tempura of veggies . It arrived with a generous scoop of rice, a nice side salad and some pickled daikon. It was also very good . Neither one of us could finish our lunches so we each got to go boxes and planned to eat them for dinner . I always love two for one meal!!! As I was getting my to go box ready, I gracefully knocked over my nearly full glass of water ..... Our server came running over with. I just told to start mopping it up. I apologized, but she was very nice and said it was no problem. I am sure a clot, but I haven't done that in quite a while -I hate causing extra work for people, but she immediately got it under control and other than for my granddaughter's clothing which did get caught in the spill. Everything was cleaned up and tidied. For the portions and the fact that it was Sushi, our lunch bill of a little over $50 was expected. They have the machines where you just put your card in and you're able to tip right then and there. I liked that there were suggestions for tip amounts so I didn't have to do the map as I was feeling rather lazy after all that food!!! I probably would not order the crab croquettes again. They had a lot of potato and not much crab. They tasted OK but I would've loved way more crab. The Mentaiko dumplings were delicious! They were cooked perfectly and I will continue to dream about them until I have them again! The sauce with them was really yummy. We had the Shaggy Dog roll & the Country Girl roll. Both were really yummy! The Country Girl roll with the lemon was chef's kiss delicious! I definitely would not recommend having the Pinot Grigio wine. It was not great, in fact, I didn't even drink it. We were happy with the food, so we came back. The waitress was nice and pleasant. Fast service. However, we were charged for a roll that was never brought out to us. We knew the exact order of what came out and what they were because the waitress took the time to name them. The waitress said that the cook made the roll twice, but then I said we never got two with shrimp and then she said two different people made it. That tells me that there is bad communication. We ordered like 13 rolls. Not like we are lying for one roll. Like that one other reviewer said they are greedy. They would rather cheat on one roll than retaining customers. They are not the only sushi place around and definitely not the best. They can keep that $15 if it was so important. Overall, the food was fantastic! The Wakame Salad was fresh, a little sweet, and a little acidic making it a great light start up the meal. The octopus was cut into pieces which really aids it in terms of texture since it is not a very delicate fish and was a little sweet with some ocean salty notes. The futo maki is one of their vegetarian rolls and is great if you're looking for someone who does not want to eat anything too heavy. The roll was crispy and the egg was also a little sweet and this dish felt like a good Japanese interpretation of a vietnamese spring roll. If you do get this roll I also reccommend adding a touch of soy sauce to intensify the sushi flavor. The Lion King roll was the star of the show and was both crispy from the seared salmon and delicate from the crab mix and salmon roe. The roll also melts in your mouth whoch provides a nice contrast to the crispy salmon and the taste overall was sweet, rich, and savory. The service was pretty quick, and the waiter was very polite and accomodating to our requests the atmosphere was also calming and the design of the restaurant interior has a lot of bright colors making it feel modern. First impression was, "dang, it's cold in here.. but oh wow, what a vibe." We were brought to our table pretty quickly and sat on comfortable seats. Our drink order was taken and we knew what starters we wanted fairly quickly. Shortly after, our hamachi carpaccio and tuna tacos came out (we ate them so fast I didn't even take a photo - they were delicious). Our main plates of sushi were ordered and when they were served I was so excited. The presentation of the hangry fish roll was very cool and.. there was FIRE! haha. We ordered the following: Hangry Fish Roll - so I had this last time and remember really loving it. I did enjoy it but I'll probably order a different roll next time. There's a lot of components to the sushi which adds nice texture to each bite. Country girl roll - this was my favorite between the two. There were slim slices of lemon on top which added a nice citrusy aftertaste and the sauce that was on the roll was really good. The bluefin tuna and salmon tasted fresh and delicious. Chicken Karaage - the way it was cooked was interesting. I've never had it fried like that and I'm used to a spicy mayo dipping sauce. Husband and I came here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner on the 15th, after having had a positive to-go dinner a couple of weeks prior. The location is pretty small, indoor dining only, with a modest host stand to the right, couches for those waiting for take-out or seating, and a modest open sushi bar area. We took advantage of the holiday specials and ordered a bottle of the cold "cherry bomb" sake, Valentine's roll, Avocado ball, gyoza, and Hangry roll. I was impressed with the presentation and quality of everything we ordered, and wish we'd snagged some pictures because it was visually appealing. We did have to wait a bit for our waters, because our waitress didn't realize she was assigned our table. So a tiny bit disorganized. But other than that, each food item was delicious. We treated ourselves to the yuzu cheesecake for dessert and it was so good, though a petite slice. I would certainly come back here, though due to the smaller size restaurant, recommend making reservations. read more

The country girl roll is my favorite so far -- it is basically a cali roll with a lemon flavor addition that takes it to the next level. I've heard a lot of good things about sushi to the moon so I was very excited to come try the food for myself. One thing I was worried about, since it's kind of a fusion restaurant, was that the food wouldn't be authentic or good quality. But I was worried for nothing! And the restaurant itself had a really nice aesthetic too which was a plus. All of the fish was really fresh, but I wanted to highlight the cooked rolls because they bring it out with a flame on the plate! So cool! My table definitely preferred the hangry fish roll though (probably our favorite of the night). Also loved the wasabi!! Really tasted like the real deal: looked ground rather than just the paste and didn't have the lingering spiciness, just the initial hit and then it was gone. I honestly could have eaten it by itself. I was also a really big fan of the tteokbokki to the moon. The rice cakes were cooked perfectly, it wasn't too spicy, and the bread was really nice and soft, especially when dipped into the extra cheesy sauce. The dishes are more on the pricy side. But I would say hopefully the next step they take is to upgrade the menus! read more

The food is very good. Out rolls were delicious and the pot stickers were perfect. We also had a very crispy agedashi tofu which was very pleasing but only after being dipped in soy sauce as it wasn't salty at all. The edamame were good, a little tough skin on the inside bean for some reason. I do find the prices really high for a no so fancy Leander location. I checked and $23 or $24 roll is more expensive than rolls at famous places downtown. We'll see if suburban crowds can accept these high prices. read more

1st we go in very excited to try a new sushi place literally in our backyard! When we go in we are greeted, and then sat. We did notice it was a somewhat cold and uninviting open room that was very loud and offers no intimacy/privacy. We then wait for our waitress to come take our order who finally did. We then noticed about 30 min later others getting their meals while we are still waiting on our appetizer (before meal) and have to ask our waitress if there was an issue. She explains that she lost our ticket and we then reordered, no problem as things do happen but it continues to be a mess of a visit. About 20 min later our 1st sushi roll comes out, still no appetizer after now ordering it twice. I ask her why and she says it goes to a different kitchen, but by now we are starving and just want this to be over with. We finish this roll (mind you we ordered 3) and we sit looking at each other again wondering where our appetizer and rolls were. She then brings out the 2nd roll in which I say to her "has our appetizer been made because if not then please cancel it as we are way past appetizers". We start eating this roll which was good but honestly we have had better at HEB! Then she brings out the 3rd roll that was the most disappointing and should have been the highlight, the roll with a bit of fire in the middle for looks. Let's just say we are both huge fish/seafood lovers but this roll actually gagged my husband as he described it as "dead carp off the bank" which I agree it did have a very very strong after taste of not so good fish, very upsetting. We feel like our whole visit started off on the wrong foot by losing our order and quickly declined from there. I feel like this is a newer establishment that is trying to work out the kinks but too many issues for one visit. I would begin with the correct amount of staff to handle the 4 tables of people that were dining in as it seemed they were very overwhelmed and scrambling causing errors and chaos. Located off Ronald Reagan, I was pleasantly surprised by Sushi to the Moon. Had no idea what to expect as most sushi options in the Cedar Park/Leander area leave much to be desired. We dropped by for a pickup order and I remember the menu being a bit different from the usual sushi restaurant. There's a mixed emphasis between tapas and small bites and sushi itself, with a 50/50 spread. The sushi itself distances itself from more 'classic' sushi restaurant menus, and offers a really neat spin on things. I honestly didn't know what to think at first but the sushi ended up being incredibly solid. We got some nigiri and three rolls, the Napa Valley probably being our favorite with the salmon lover in second. The people working here definitely seemed to care about what they're doing. We were surprised by everything we ate. The fish is incredibly fresh and everything tastes like its made to order. The rolls are little works of art in themselves, so congrats to their crew for the attention to detail. It's most welcome to have a sushi place like this in such an unsuspecting location, but it's great for the Cedar Park/Leander area to get a sushi place of this caliber. Highly recommended! First time visit today for a valentine lunch. Upon entering, there is a desk to the right and sushi bar in the right corner. Tables and half and halfs fill the room to the left. There are high ceilings and a wall of windows. The aesthetic is light bright and clean. We ordered a couple of lunch sashimi and maki plates with miso soup. We asked for the gluten free tamari, which was available. They also let me know which items were gluten free without issues. The presentation is beautiful. As pretty as the plate is, the freshness is the show stopper! The fish is simply amazing. It just melts in your mouth. Being a ex sushi chef, I really take pride in knowing great sushi rice. There are only a few places in Austin or the surrounding areas that I love just because the rice, and this place is top of the list. Very nice and sweet to all the customers that come in. We were treated like royalties from the moment we stepped in until we left. But this is not it! Thought we were coming to a place just for some sushi because we were hungry. You can tell the chefs take time and puts in a lot of TLC to make them tasty and it was a good choice because we had the opportunity to taste 7 different nigiris! We went for a girls night, enjoyed drinks, appetizers and plenty of rolls still walked out spending less than $60. I could easily go for a casual family dinner.
