My son and I like this place a lot. One of the better sushi places around here...we come often. And it is pretty inexpensive for sushi.

You're thinking of teppanyaki. They do have a grill in the back that they cook on but I mean at that point, everyone with a flat top grill technically is considered teppanyaki. Actually, I didn't see a grill back in the kitchen with my own eyes - I only assume they have one back there. They have sushi, hibachi, and pad thai. Feel free to make your own deductions. The sushi was good - we liked the rolls we got! Asparagus roll had 5 or 6 pieces in there instead of just one. The simple tuna roll was good but a little large and clunky. The hibatchi chicken had that nice maillard crust on it and the flavor was good. Chicken may have been dethawed in the microwave prior to cooking as it had a bit of a springy / rubbery interior. The price was good and the servers were nice even though they didn't seem super informed on the menu even though they had worked there a few months.

Lol I took my sister to lunch yesterday and we took a gamble and tried their spicy tuna and it was amazinggggg! This is gonna be my new favorite and go-to spot for sushi on the WA side!! My sister got a roll and tataki. I tasted her tataki and it was fantastic. I'm allergic to seaweed so I always get my rolls with soy or sashimi. Reyna was our server. She's so sweet and kind. She said they could accommodate the soy wrap and said they could modify a roll for me. I ordered: a spicy tuna roll with tempura shrimp, cucumber and jalapeño, soy wrapped, with spicy mayo sauce drizzled on top. It's perfection. Their spicy tuna actually has a kick of spice to it. Literally so good!! My sister and I got a manicure earlier today and were telling the ladies at the shop they should check it out Kobe. And then later we talked our mom into going to a late lunch today so we could get the spicy tuna fix again. Lol two days in a row spicy tuna bliss. Funnily enough we saw another person come in two days in a row as well. They had late lunch the same time we did yesterday and today too. Ps we also loved the veggie spring rolls. It was delicious and the sauce reminds us of a Filipino sauce we like. This place is fantastic. It's a small restaurant that has just enough seating to feel like they could fit a decent amount a people during peak times. It was very clean and they should be serving beer and saki soon (picture of the sign added). I'm sure we will be back very soon. If you wanna try a new spot in Hazel dell, check them out. They're in the same lot as the oil change/ bowling lot. Across from the laundry and Thai delight 12/10 for me. Thank you!!

A Sushi-Fueled Saturday Success!…read more We walked in on a chill Saturday afternoon--party of four--and scored front-row parking like sushi royalty. No wait, no fuss. Service? Super speedy and genuinely kind. A+ hospitality. Let's talk food (aka the stars of the show): Caterpillar Roll - Fresh, light, and beautifully presented. The kind of roll that makes you feel like you're eating healthy... even if you follow it with fried gyoza. Spider Roll - Crispy? Yes. Flavorful? Yes. But the flavors blended into each other a bit too much--more "symphony" than "solo act." Still enjoyable, just not a standout. Clam Miso Soup - A delightful surprise! Big, juicy clams swimming in a savory miso bath. A must-try if you're into seafood. Regular Miso Soup - Classic, comforting, no complaints. Fried Gyoza - Golden, crispy, and flavorful. Honestly, I could eat a whole plate solo and call it a day. Shrimp Tempura - Massive, crunchy, and satisfying. You'll want to share... but you won't want to. Seahawk Roll (aka Volcano Roll?) - Came in HOT (temperature-wise and vibe-wise). Bold flavors and satisfying heat. Crunch Munch Roll - Smoked salmon + shrimp = interesting combo. Tasty, but the smoked salmon kind of hogged the spotlight. Final thoughts: Everything looked great, tasted fresh, and came out quickly. A few rolls were more memorable than others, but overall it was a win. We'd definitely return for another round--especially that clam miso soup and shrimp tempura!

We've done both the hibachi table and the booth and both were great experiences every time. The hibachi table is always a blast as each and every single cook we've ever gotten has been as entertaining as they are outgoing and personable, i imagine the hiring process must be a rigorous one because regardless of who it is on the table, they always know exactly what they're doing on top of overflowing with charisma. Our experience in the booths when we order sushi is always pleasant as well as the waiters have always been kind and approachable. And of course the sushi is delicious too!

Everything was going well. Chef came out and was okay. Definitely not the best we've had, but the food was good. Had to ask twice to get the bill. The restuarant had a couple more grills going, but still not busy by industry standards. Finally got the bill and they've added a $42 tip, for a "large" group. 5 people is not a large group, especially considering their grills seat 12 people and they always clump different groups together. I could understand if they were having to push tables together and it was taking a server's entire section up, but that's not how this place operates. When I inquired about where it's posted that this is standard practice, I was only showed the bill, which we had to ask for twice before seeing it. I normally tip 15-20% depending on quality of service; however, forcing a tip on me becuase there's 5 of us is theft. 1 of our group didn't even order a meal. We won't be going back to be robbed again. Edit - After calling and speaking with the so called manager, I was told that the automatic gratuity is standard and there's no one above her that I could speak with no matter where or who I called. No corporate, no owner, just her. She also told me that they were short staffed on this particular evening, which is more grounds to not expect $42 tip, when service is lacking due to lack of staff. I've worked in this industry for 30 years. I know how much staff rely on tips, but this isn't the way. I may have left a $50 tip, if it was earned, but not when it's forced and especially not when it's forced and not earned. Manager told me they'd refund half my tip and I wasn't welcome back. Bye
