Slow music, cozy setting, beautiful place, with delicious sushi! You are seriously in for a treat! Service is A+! If you are looking for a great date night or even just waiting for your family at the airport cell phone waiting area! Order to go! They are quick and everything is awesome!
My expectations were far surpassed! I came with a group of ten close to closing (so sorry). We were greeted with a smile and a table. Our waiter was very friendly and quick. The menu at Kobe has options for everyone. I love pork udon tonkatsu and was so excited to see that on the menu. It was rich and creamy! The pork was a little overcooked for my liking though. I love udon and would return for this.
Stopped here after my flight from San Diego before heading to Gresham and it was the perfect meal after my flight. I arrived with my family during the lunch hour which was so clutch. We were able to order the lunch specials. I ordered the 2 sushi for $15.50 special and got the #9 Yellowtail-Jalapeno & the #19 Alaska Roll. I ordered the Tako Yaki $8.50 off their normal menu. The rolls tasted great, I really like the Yellowtail-Jalapeno Roll because it was a maki roll and would definitely order it in the future. The Alaska Roll seemed like a basic crowd pleaser type roll like a California Roll, nothing super special but tasty. The Tako Yaki was perfection, loved it! Would order again and again. They had forgotten to bring our miso soup that came with our lunch specials orders, we had to remind them and the two soups and salad came at the end of our meal, no biggie- they were delicious. Service was very friendly, we had gotten seated and served drinks right away. They kept our waters filled. The vibe was casual and the music was great. There is plenty of parking. Would love to stop by here again next time I am in town.
Nice surprise! Close to the airport... plenty of parking. Everything we ordered was excellent! I especially love the cucumber salad! The dressing was sooo refreshing!! The baked mussels was so yummy! I will def bookmark this place for our next visit!
Kobe Sushi and Ramen deserves a 5 star review. Great service and delicious food in a super convenient location right next to the airport. We started with pan fried gyoza and edamame as appetizers and enjoyed some hot tea. For the main course we ordered miso ramen with katsu chicken and the Flamingo Roll. Everything was fresh flavorful and perfectly prepared. Highly recommended if you are near the area.
My FAVORITE sushi place now!! I went solo and loved it so much and have been talking about it for weeks. Can't wait to take my bf next time!
The food was great. A perfectly done shoyu egg in the ramen. So much umami! The noodles weren't typical ramen noodles that you'd find at a ramen restaurant. While thin, the noodles were white and straight, almost like somen but had a chewier texture. I'm not sure what the noodles were. Service was good and the food came to our table rather quickly. There is music playing in the background, but maybe it is loud enough to make the airplanes taking off and landing nearby at PDX.
Ambiance was really nice. Customer service was ahhh :/ The food was okay. The calamari was not it, super oily . They forgot my Thai tea and when they brought it was watered down as see on the photo .
We tried this japanese restuarant for our dinner since its near to our hotel in portland. The interior is nice and very japanese style. I like the serving and the food is i can say okay too. Since I tried a good japanese resto i can compare that this is a little bit not so good for my taste. The salmon is kinda dry. The tonkatsu ramen is no good. The noodles are very thin and the soup is not creamy at all. Ramen is one of my favorite dish so I can really tell the difference. The takoyaki is good and some of their sushi is okay. Nonetheless its good for trying but i dont think I will come back again. And one more thing to comment is there is one family who came after us but they serve them first because im not sure but i think its their family friend or what. So i think its not a good example to do that.
Came to Portland for a one-week vacation. I booked a hotel nearby and was craving sushi near the area. It is a super nice location within walking distance of the hotel and PDX airport. Parking is a bit small and snug due to Dutch bro's drive-thru. I called in to take it back to the hotel to eat. I ordered their: Dynamite (Chef Recommend); California Roll top w. Baked Scallop, Crabmeat, Masago, Crunch & Special Sauce. It was so good! I love the scallop on top of the California roll + special sauce. It's not overwhelming. Staffs are extremely friendly and I highly recommend this place. I came back twice for their gyoza as well. Both weekends, the place wasn't packed and was very quiet.
Straight from LA experience. Welcome to us from Oregon :) They are our first meal as soon as we land, Am I hungry? why everything taste good here?? ok, we ordered 3 bentos, and 2 rolls ($14.95) . Their bentos are a little different from the regulars we've tried, only 2 options for the main meal and it comes with spring roll, gyoza and miso soup. They asked if you would like noodles and rice - so noodles it is. I told you they are different- where is the salad?? it's because they have noodles? Portions are big we had to gooos... planned on ordering noodles to go because it's really delish!!! but we did not because we want to try other places. Staff are really friendly, recommended eel roll which we tried and yes she was right! Parking is a lot, restroom is in place and the ambiance here is perfect! for groups, dates and with kids like us! My kiddo looove the big serving of Salmon. oh! and we got FREE appetizer because of Yelp check in!! yay! enjoy my shared pics. only 2 coz im hungry! ciao!
I'd been wanting to check Kobe Sushi & Ramen out for a while now, and an opportunity finally presented itself. The location is SUPER convenient, as it is VERY close to Portland International Airport and Cascade Station. The parking lot is sizeable, and easy to maneuver. The interior is bright, open, and inviting, with a modern and warm appearance. Service is outstanding! All staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic. The menu is HUGE, and I really want to come back to check out their non-sushi offerings (we stuck to sushi on our visit). The appetizers, sushi rolls, and nigiri were uniformly great! The rice was PERFECT in every way! While this may seem insignificant, I've had plenty of overcooked, undercooked, mushy, and improperly seasoned rice at many other places. It is amazing how much perfectly-cooked and perfectly-seasoned rice elevates everything. I strongly recommend the sushi tower, the kobe roll, and the humble but amazing hamachi scallion roll. I'm VERY impressed with Kobe, and am really looking forward to my next visit.
This is the perfect lunch spot. Their service is fast as hell. The restaurant is clean and quiet. It definitely doesn't feel like you're dining right outside the airport. I was relieved to find this quiet spot to de stress after a recent flight. And let's face it; airlines pretty much starve us so yes I was a ravenous and yes this is all I ordered cause I was planning to cook later that day...cook or order pizza you call it... Anywayyy the sushi was delicious but sidenote: they do Not serve sake. I noticed it listed on the menus other people posted on here but my waitress let me know they don't serve Any alcoholic drinks. All in all that didn't matter cause the ambiance and food made this restaurant a really cool stop.

Great surprise to my visit to Kobe Sushi and Ramen yesterday. I found out our daughter was arriving an hour late from Chicago, and I wanted to find a comfortable place to sit and still have good food. Taco Bell is not that. ha ha I only had water, but Mingde, who was very efficient and timely kept it full. I had the Fried Calamari and Coconut Shrimp as munchies before she arrived in Portland. Both were perfectly cooked and the accompanying sauces were very tasty. The shrimp and calamari was very fresh and hot. The calamari were longer tubes in breading, not your normal calamari- I will definitely return on my next visit to the airport. The food was incredible as was the service. read more

Ambiance was nice for a smaller place. Service was OK as the servers were not very attentive to a solo diner, but that's OK. The food was fresh and made to order. The Calamari is made from strips and I prefer the rings or bodies. read more
Easily 5 star experience, from top to bottom. Not the easiest place to find, but when you do, it's so worth it. Sushi was fresh, well rolled, perfect consistency. Miso was good, Edamame was very good, but sushi rolls were awesome. My new favorite place for lunch or dinner, can't wait to return for sure. With so many mediocre sushi places in Portland, this is not one of them. Service was pleasant, nice, professional, engaged. All & All; Congratulations, Kobe Sushi you did it right and won my heart. Food was really good. The service was "meh" our server barely spoke English and struggled to understand my friends and I when we were asking questions while ordering. Also, we asked to have two pieces of sushi put into a container, but the server "accidentally" the it away because apparently she didn't understand. Frustrating. There was another server (named Lucy) who was super helpful, she refilled our beverages and answered some questions. read more

Super affordable lunch specials! I stopped in here before my flight leaving PDX and got sat right away. I ordered their lunch special which came with miso soup. Everything is very affordable given the area where it's located. Would highly recommend coming here with friends before your next flight out of PDX read more

Wanted to find a new sushi joint near us and came across Kobe Sushi on Yelp. It's right off of 205, near the airport and located in the same plaza, parking area as Dutch, 7/11, and Taco Bell. Decent sized parking area with tight parking spots. We were greeted and seated a few minutes after we arrived. The waiter brought menus and waters right after we were seated. Restaurant was clean and had cute decor. Staff was nice. Very quiet, but they checked on us a few times throughout our meal. We ordered potstickers, 3 different rolls, and the kobe fried rice. The staff didn't bring small plates or bowls and we had to wait a few minutes to get their attention so we could ask for bowls for the fried rice and sushi. The pot stickers were good. The fried rice was pretty bland. Sushi was good and the prices were pretty comparable to other sushi places in the area. Definitely want to stop in again to try other sushi rolls. read more

I was waiting for a friends flight as most people are. Ordered simple teriyaki chicken food came out quick appreciate that beer was cold again thank you. Issues start with the order itself. It wasn't teriyaki sauce, it was almost like a mix of orange chicken and teriyaki sauce. Portions were solid lots of food, but nothing was mixed in veggies were throwing the bottom which were scolding hot way too hot to eat. (actually burn my tongue, a little bit trying to grab a carrot.) Looked across the way and saw sushi came out quick, which was a positive but the color seemed a little off can't guarantee the freshness on that one. If you're waiting to pick up a friend, you got three options Taco Bell, 711, and this place I would take this place but just be mindful of what you order. read more

Craving yakisoba noodles and got exactly what I was wanting in this dish. The flavor was perfect! I added chicken to mine and can't wait to try it either beef or shrimp next time. I also ordered the pan fried chicken gyoza and it was perfect. The sauce it comes with had such a good flavor. Definitely coming back for more and highly recommend this place if you want good Japanese food in PDX. read more

I was staying near the Portland airport for an event and decided to walk here from my hotel to give this a try. Food was good and service was efficient. For the lunch bento box menu you can choose 1 item from the group A list and 1 item from the group B list, and it also includes 2 pieces of fried gyoza (potstickers), 2 spring rolls, and a choice of miso soup or salad. I opted for the shrimp and vegetables tempura and the seared salmon sushi which costed $2.50 more. Both were very good so I was happy with my choice, although it wasn't served in a typical "bento box" but a white tray that I would use for a child's meal. read more

Our group of six had a wonderful delicious meal. We ordered a variety of entrees - specialty sushi rolls, sushi combo, tempura plate and teriyaki plates. All were tasty, nicely presented and well prepared. I had the combo teriyaki (beef and chicken) that had a choice of a bowl of rice or a bowl of noodles, I had the noodles. The dish arrived on a sizzling plate that smelled delicious. The meat was presented on top of pieces of stir fried broccoli, carrots and onions, lightly coated with teriyaki sauce. The chicken and beef were tender and nicely cooked not dry or chewy. The sauce was very good, not too thick not too runny, not over salty. I enjoyed having this with noodles, a nice change of pace from rice. The service was friendly and attentive. Most of our food came out at the same time, but we had a short wait before the final meal, a sushi combo plate, was brought to our table. The staff kept us informed about the wait. My group (myself, wife, daughters, MIL) all said they would definitely enjoy returning to try other dishes. read more

Very good food! I judge the Sushi by the way the rice is made. If it's too much water, it will taste very spongey-like. Also, if the fish itself tastes fresh. I am glad to say it is both fresh and tasty! The only reason I took off a star from my rating is because it does not state a $2 upgrade for changing Cali Rolls to Spicy Tuna. In fact, when I looked into ordering online, it did not mention or charge a $2 upgrade. I believe, as well, that they brought me a Tuna Avocado rolls with Spicy Sauce, because it did not taste anything like the Spicy Tuna Rolls I frequently order. This was a little disappointing. I also thought the Tempura Sauce, that came with my order, was on the sweeter side. Not like any other Tempura Sauce I ever had. I also make it at home, so I am not sure why it was made somewhat sweet (No biggie though). Other than that, the Bento Box was a decent size and I would definitely order it again. However, this time without the Spicy Tuna, if it was indeed that. read more

Kobe! Kobe! We arrived to Portland after 1:00pm and looked for the first ramen spot to try. BEST LOCATION for tourists! It was a 3 minute drive from the airport. Ordered pork belly ramen, salmon bento box lunch, kids ramen, California roll, edamame, and chicken katsu. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Total came to $92.xx before gratuity. Service was good. English speaking servers. Their soda was flat and we let them know. They offered to correct but we were done eating. We would return and recommend read more

This was a pretty good stop for lunch after a long flight from Florida! Their Thai Iced Tea was good, I got the sushi roll lunch special, and my fiancé got a ramen bowl! We would stop by again - looking forward to trying something new next time. read more
